girls trip
the palladium was a very nice place tor the money. theire are no elevtor so if your room is on the 3rd floor you better be in shape. the jerk chicken was so good, the pools are large and its has two sides, plenty of chairs and the staff will find you chairs if you all want to sit together (it was 8 women). over all i had a great time. the shows are good .

Beautiful resort with lots of potential but...
The resort is very pretty and the food is great! On paper it's a dream vacation. Unfortunately it was not for us. First, when we arrived we got hit with a $119 per child per night "resort fee". We have 2 kids. Ouch. We booked using points. The deal was very good. This was the catch. I made every effort to find out beforehand what would be the additional charge for the kids. I sent 3 separate emails. No reply. Called. No answer. I was busy so I figured how bad could it be? Well, not great. It still an OK deal, so that didn't ruin the vacation. But definitely predatory marketing. What am I going to do if I don't agree with the fee? Go next door? Take a return flight? Funny... Another point of contention was the fact that the phones are useless on this resort. Might as well not have any. Need room service? Good luck. Need pickup for your luggage? Ha, funny. The last thing we absolutely hated about this resort, and the one thing that will make us never come back, was the stress of the staff and the strictness of the management. When at the pool with kids, we got whistled by the life guards non stop. Just because we were playing, like we did everywhere all the time. It got so bad that the kids didn't want to go the pool anymore. The had a kid pool with slides but it opened very late (not sure why) and even though it was the most shallow, it was extremely cold and both my kids complained of that. So they wanted to go to the main pool, but there we go whistled all the time. Oh, and btw, we had to accompany them all the time, even though they were both good swimmers. The restarant staff were also under major stress. If we sat down where we wanted by accident, they got yelled at. If we took any food out of the restaurant like a banana or yoghurt, you guessed it, they got yelled at. So they were cought between satisfying customers but also enforcing the extremely strict rules of the resort. You could see the stress on most of them all the time. Having visited Negril and asking around, we found out that this is one of the most, if not the most, strict resort in the area. If you come to Jamaica to relax (with kids), this is not the place. Lots of untapped potential. Not for us.

Pretty cool for what it's worth. Would recommend and go again
I havnt been to many resorts and none outside of America before this trip so my opinion might be biased. I had a great time. The trip was more for my significant other then for me but I enjoyed the experience. The night with bongos and flaming limbo was a great memory. I've read a few horrible reviews on here and I'm and fortunate enough to have had the complete opposite experience of those. The staff was overwhelming nice and comforting especially for a introverted person like myself. The food wasn't my favorite and was maybe slightly above average. A part of my family is jamacian so I felt like I have a higher standard for things like oxtail/jerk chicken/pork/curry goat so I'll mostly give it a pass. I will say the way they do room service I was not expecting and can see why that might not work for some people but we spent a lot of time outside our room so I only ever once walked in while they were cleaning. She immediately said she can continue or come back later which was cool to me. Fridge always restocked never a issue. I also ordered room service almost every night 30 mins before they closed and never had a issue although the app would not let me place a order 1 hour prior to closing so I had to call the operator on two occasions. I did see plenty of staff who didn't look like they were having the best day of their life but that's life and it didn't negatively affect me at all. And finally the whole reason I'm even writing this short story of a review... The coral bar. I know this is excluded from a portion of patrons but this was my favorite part of the whole trip. The proximity to the room, size and capacity if pool, the drink selections and the main reason that made it all even worth going... The bartenders. I had 4 over the course of my stay and only 1 was not that great. I only say that because 2 set the bar so high the first few days I was there I think it overshadowed the other bartenders decent job. So BIG UP to Mario P the best bartender we had and I wish I had remember the woman's name who was on shift before him. What might be another day at work for them made a one time trip for me turn into a possible reoccurrence. It's naive to expect that level of customer service, professionalism, positive attitude from everyone but when I do I like to make sure it's recognized. Also Jolesa at the signature lounge customer service while checking us in and out 10/10. So all in all I had a good time and for people who didn't... Don't worry.. Every little thing is going to be alright :)
