Wedding Reception Disaster & Construction Everywhere!!!!
Let me begin by saying that apologies are not enough when the moment has passed and the memories are not there. I am hurt, upset, and embarrassed on behalf of my parents and guests. I filled out a wedding survey and gave to the Weddings group as well and will attach that too. Below are my complaints: 1. The package we selected stated that we should receive VIP treatment for the couple. It specifically says a “VIP welcome.” When we arrived, we were not recognized, nor was there anyone at the front with drinks. We did not get a VIP checkin. The front desk agent stated she was not aware that she had to prepare for us as the weddings group did not let them know. So we had to wait in line to check in and wait almost an hour to get someone to get our bags to our room. The coordinator came upstairs when she was called and when I asked about the VIP welcome, she laughed and bowed and said “Welcome”. She gave us our room key and said enjoy your swim up pool. I thought we had a room upgrade but it was not. I asked the front desk about the swim up pool that was stated and they said they always say that because usually they are able to upgrade the couple. In this case they could not, but did not stop us from getting excited about the upgrade mentioned by accident (obviously). 2. Because no one knew we were the bride and groom, when we got to our room, it was a basic garden view and it had no rose petals, champagne, fruits or desserts that was stated in the contract. NOTHING! I went back to front desk and complained with Geenel and it took us the 3rd day in order to receive it when it was supposed to be part of our welcome when we walked into our room. I had to escalate my concerns at front desk just to get it done after 2 days! 3. The buildings you placed us in had construction from 9:30am on with no consideration for the paying guest who would like rest without all the noise and paint debris that was falling everywhere as we walked through the front doors. In my parents room that I paid for, I could not walk through the front door because the paint was falling everywhere and there was tarp on the ground. They had a ladder up against my parents 1st floor balcony which prevented them from being able to enjoy it during the day. The workers were looking in the rooms through the patio door and they had to keep the dark shades closed the whole time. My other guest in building 12 had to be moved after our wedding at 11pm and did not get to her room until almost midnight because of all the noise earlier in the day. One of our guests, has also made a formal complaint with the GM regarding the housing issues. 4. The bridal suite that I paid for was not set up so that the bride can see herself or take pics. The mirrors were blocked behind chairs, there was no one to assist us, and we had no snacks or fruits. We were forced to remove all of our things and we had to take our bags back to our room in our wedding attire. 5. After the wedding ceremony, the guests did not all have transportation and had to wait for a long time for transportation and the bridal party had to stand and wait for transportation when it should’ve already been waiting for us. We were in a dirty grey van and it had no luxury to it that indicated we are the wedding party. The guests did not know where to go after cocktail hour and it confused everyone. 6. Before the reception, the bridal party did not get the ability to eat the hors d’oeuvres and was not told by our wedding coordinator that if we decide to take pictures then we wont eat. The only way to eat is to go straight with our guests. If we did that, then how would we get our photos taken? 7. We were told by the coordinator to wait in the hallway of the reception as our guests and strangers were walking past us. In many weddings the bridal party is not shown to the public yet until they are announced at the reception. We just had to sit and wait until everyone got seated and ruined any surprise. 8.I will end with the worse part, and that is right before walking out for the reception, I was asked by the DJ to confirm the names of my wedding party. It was known that my parents would come out first at the reception just like they did at the ceremony. I asked Geenel to come over and I told her that I wanted my parents to come out with us. She stated no that she had already had something for my mom that was special and dont worry about it. I was confused because whatever was deemed special it did not have anything to do with my parents being announced as I asked that they did. Geenel insisted that she had something else in store for me. So i left it alone. On the other hand, my parents stated they came up to Geenel and asked about seating and was told they can sit anywhere and that they were not walking out, with an attitude. My parents, especially my mother, assumed that I crossed their names off the list and was refusing them to being acknowledged when it was the complete opposite. This caused tension at the reception and my mom almost walked out. She was crying and hurt and embarrassed. When my husband and I walked out, my mother turned her head on me and wouldn’t even clap for us. I had to find a way to make peace with them because I was not the one who denied them walking out with us. Geenel prevented it when she should’ve just alerted the DJ that I wanted my parents to walk out. Thats all it took and should have been since we paid for this. But that moment was taken from us and we will not have that memory that we envisioned all year. I was so upset, I could not drink, eat, nor have cake. I walked back to the room knowing my parents did not enjoy themselves and had to put on a face for the camera but deep down upset with me for the mishaps of the wedding department and coordinator. * During checkout the front desk made it clear that any issues with my room and my VIP treatment is the responsibility of the wedding department and not them as they have to be told by them when couples arrive. * When speaking with the Assistant Manger of the Weddings Department, so she told me she will go over my survey and do an investigation.

The best holiday
Me and my boyfriend came to grand palladium last year and we loved it so much we had to come back and it did not disappoint we always love our time here and would stay longer if we could. Food was very nice in every restaurant servers and bartenders always happy and helpful. Entertainment team in the day mimi and Ashanti are lovely and so happy we met mimi last year and she’s just the kindest person. Night entertainment never fails we love the reggae bands, steel band and Bob Marley tribute. Carlan and Shannon were friendly and super good dancers getting us involved and having a good time. We felt very welcomed and looked after by Miss tucker who we know from last year, nothing was too much and she was always there to help and answer questions. This is our holiday destination and will definitely visit again.

Anniversary Escape
I truly enjoyed my stay at the Grand Palladium with my husband. Our anniversary was late being celebrated so we knew this would be the best place when the weather got too cold here in NJ. We loved our weekend escape and plan for a longer stay next year with the family.

My stay
My stay was great the rooms were clean the staff were friendly and very attentive! Their wasn’t a lot to do on the resort and it seemed like it was only one buffet which is the Mobay I’m used to resorts having way more food options plus the times that they were open and closed was a big inconvenience and made it to were you would have to rush . The reserved restaurants food was not all that !!! The Jamaican food was delicious though!! And the drinks were WEAK next time I will be buying my own liquor and adding it on. Other then that I had a nice stay !
