    Destination Wedding Venue - And So Much More!

    We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen for a family wedding. The views from all parts of the facility are stunning; the cascading outdoor lobby area spills right into gift shops, restaurants, multiple pools, and ultimately the soft white sandy beach. All amenities are fully staffed; we experienced very little wait time for the abundance of dining, drinking, and cabana-ing that we enjoyed. The variety and selection of on-site food is great, and they even took it to a whole different level for the wedding reception meal ~ it was fabulous! And as an additional bonus, this property is just a few blocks away from the “area pedonale” that is also full of shops, restaurants, and energy.

    Rarely is something better than the pictures...

    This place is absolutely amazing. That view when you first walk in is unforgettable. It's an amazing beach, amazing pool, friendly staff, and walking distance to Playa with all it has to offer. Don't really understand what's not to like here. We are planning to come back again next year. I personally think this place is almost unbeatable given location, service, etc.

    Family Trip with teenagers

    Beautiful hotel in the best location to experience downtown Playa Del Carmen. Right on the ocean and close to all the shops and restaurants. We loved our stay! The arcade room was fun to go play basketball and air hockey and the pools and beach were very nice. The teenagers were never bored.

    Good Location, but...

    Spent 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt in an Oceanfront plunge pool suite... location of the property is excellent just off Quinta Avenida and is walkable to countless shops/restaurants. Service was adequate, but, the overall property is tired.... our room wasn't particularly clean when we entered and the air conditioning system had so much dust in it that it ended up leaving clumps around the living room. Couch had stains in it. "Plunge Pool" would only occasionally turn on. Unexpectedly, there was a business convention at the hotel during our stay which caused limited access to the main pool one day and shut down the adult pool another day during our stay. Felt like the entire property was just worried about the corporate clients and not their hundreds of other guests. As a whole, the hotel isn't bad, but, it's nowhere near what our expectations were based on prior reviews, the Grand Hyatt brand and what the price point is. With all of the other options in the Playa/Riviera Maya/Cancun area, don't think we'd return....

    Hector was great!

    I ate at the Cocina Restaurant and everything was great. The service with Hector Garcia truly made my day. The ambiance, food and service was too tier! I would definitely recommend this. I was able to get the burger (which was ok) but the wine and view was EVERYTHING
