Another Birthday and NYE at Princess
This made my 8 to 10th time in the past 11 years. I was celebrating my birthday. I come back often because the staff rarely changes and most of them welcome back as family. I tried the Cafe Del Mar restaurant. In all the times I've been there I didn't even know it was there. Pictures attached. As always I had an absolute great time. Service everywhere was superb as always. I do have one major suggestion. Please re-tile the pool bar. Many tiles are missing. It's time to upgrade. Overall 4 stars for resort. 5 stars for staff

Average NOT Grand
Grand Bavaro Princess Jan 6 2025 to Jan 16 2025 2 Plantinum Suites 4 adults 1 infant This review is based on our experience and our tastes and expectations. The most consistent disappointment has to be the train service. It is unreliable in both frequency and space available. More trains are needed and more capacity. The resort is big and there many seniors such as myself that have walking issues and families with multiple small children. The sports bar has a second level it is not handicap accessible or accessible for families with stroller . 2 out 5 star The grounds are clean and picturesque great gardening and lanscaping staff. 5 out of 5 The property buildings and pools are dated and the wear is beginning to show , especially in the main pool side walls. Tiles are broken and sharp. Main pool desk.is cleaned daily but not the pool. In the 10 days we were there it was not cleaned also in the children's areas. 2 out 5 star Women's washroom next to La Focaccia restaurant had the inside handle of one of the toilet rooms break off and leaving my daughter screaming for help as she could.not open the door. Traumatized for over 10 minutes. The incident was reported to staff. For those not familiar, this is a small completely sealed room with only enough room to sit on the toilet and the door swings in. Our room was an upgrade to the platinum suite. King bed with tv, mini bar, jacuzzi bath, shower, toilet and 2 sink basins. Sitting area with tv. Walkout balcony with loungers . The room was clean and the maid service was good. European and North American plugs with USB. A/C controls are not user friendly. Shower stall showed the most age with gaps in chaulking and bugs coming through once or twice. Biggest disappointment was my daughter's room which had coackroaches on the last night resulting in us having to move her to another room. 3 out of 5 Nightly Entertainment is Terrible. Considering they have a large functional theater with stage. One night was the Michael Jackson show then another night was a Lion King Live show. In the 10 days we were there the theater sat empty. Only other Entertainment was a small area near the lobby and main buffet that did live music on the other 8 days. Music system and speaker system is embarrassing for a resort of this name and size. 2 out 5 star Kids Entertainment by kids pool and nightly kids mini disco and activities. Could improve by getting more events for children to meet and play together. My grandson is 20 months and enjoyed the music, pool and activities they had. 3 out 5 star. Room Service we used only once at about 11.30pm. Rooms come with coffee maker and a few pucks. However I prefer my coffee fresher and for the most part coffee is very good at the restaurants and bars, but there seems to be an issue either with the bartenders or the machines because come 11-12pm the answer we get at the bars (because restaurants all close by 11pm) is the the "machine no work " So your only option is make it yourself or call room service. Room Service will not bring you coffee , they say go get it at the 24r reception bar. ( the one with the " machine no work") Score 0 out 5 stars Restaurants Focaccia-italian 4 out 5 stars Good selection of pasta and pizza Pizza is stone fired great crust presentation. Teppanyaki- Japanese 3 out of 5 Not much of a show and beef and chicken was way overcooked. IL Tartufo - Italian 4 out 5 stars More formal than the pizzeria more meat and pasta options. Wasabi - Sushi All sushi comes with cream cheese . Sushi should never be presented in this fashion but more importantly we informed waiter we had allergies to cream cheese. They originally refused to make us a fresh roll After seeing or displeasure and that we were going to leave they made us fresh sushi rolls as long as we all ordered the same kind of roll. 1 out of 5 stars Steakhouse -El Guacho Very good 4 ot of 5 stars Main Buffet by lobby And Beach Buffet 3.5 out of 5 stars Good but not enough variety, theme is mostly geared to the Latin pallete. Chopin Restaurant and PB&G -Plantinum members only. Very good 4 out of 5 stars The restaurant, bar staff and maid staff were always friendly and attentive. Front office staff however could use some attitude adjustment and retraining. The recreation team ( animation) especially by the main pool and beach need better training on keeping guests entertained. Same old dated dance routines and the guys always getting the same girls involved in every game day after day. Overall this is an average resort, definitely not Grand. It is a safe resort but not a fun resort. If you are looking for nightlife and higher quality accommodation and food then you will struggle to find it here. Much of the staff do not speak English or comprehend basic English. Take the time to use a translation app when explaining yourself. For what you get here this resort is overpriced and grossly misrepresented by it's star ranking and tour operator promotions. Overall resort rating 3.5 stars out of 5

Very well maintained resort with beautiful beach and excellent staff
Visited this resort from Jan 10-17 with myself husband, infant son and parents. It was awesome! It is so well organized and laid out. It’s also very clean and the free roaming wildlife was a special added touch. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Special requests were accommodated. The upgrade to Platinum was reasonably priced and very much worth it for the reserved beach section alone. For the first time at an all-inclusive we never had to worry about reserving beach chairs. The vendors were present but not overbearing. The room size and quality was fabulous as well. The ONLY negative thing I can say is that while we loved the plethora of food options available all day, the quality was sub-par…particularly at the a la cartes and some of the food handling/hygiene practices are questionable as we did observe some staff not washing their hands after using the bathroom. That said, everything else made up for it and just take extra measures to protect yourself.

Amazing Experience
Can't say enough good things about this resort. From the staff, rooms and size, beach and a la carte restaurants...was all Grade A. Special thank you to the restaurant manager Agramonte who went out of his way to make us feel special. First class treatment!

This is a bring your own food situation.
First a PSA: In the Carribean, always wash your hands before eating or drinking. It's also not a bad idea to sanitize them at the restaurant after touching the utensils at the buffet. Now the review. When evaluating a vacation, three major aspects stand out: service, accommodations, and food. Service: The service at this resort is phenomenal. From the housekeeping staff to the servers and maintenance personnel, everyone is wonderful. They are polite, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Accommodations: Our room at this resort was significantly larger than the one we had at the Royalton Punta Cana, which is newer and more expensive. The bathroom was probably twice the size. The room was clean and well-stocked, and the bathroom was consistently maintained by the excellent housekeeping staff throughout our stay. However, be warned: there is no air conditioning at this resort. If temperatures exceed 26°C (78.8°F), you won’t be able to sleep comfortably. They provide an air cooler, but it only works when it’s cool outside. Consider bringing a fan or be prepared for uncomfortable nights. Food: Having visited multiple resorts, I can compare food across different countries and establishments. Unfortunately, this resort has the worst food I have ever experienced. After visiting more than seven resorts, this was the first time our family fell seriously ill. The standards for handling food are practically non-existent. Some examples include: The same tongs are used to cook on the grill, serve customers, and handle raw meat from the freezer. Staff sweat into the food they are refilling at the buffet. Staff mop the floor and then touch food without washing their hands. Despite our cautious practices, such as washing and sanitizing our hands before eating, we could not protect ourself due to poor food handling everywhere at this resort. Additionally, the food tasted terrible at the buffet and almost all restaurants. The chicken was inedible, with a texture like cardboard and an even worse taste. The hamburgers were undercooked, red on the inside, and had to be discarded. My recommendation is to avoid this resort at all costs unless you bring your own food.
