Apr 22, 2025Great time in GR Solaris.
It would be the second time, I vacationed in Cancun. This time with my family. The resort was smaller than I expected. We didn’t spent of our time in the room but in the pool area and the kids club. The entertainment team was great. Very friendly to introduce themselves to you. The kids club team was awesome. My daughter loved going there everyday which gives me the needed break on vacation. I would return to the resort in the future. I was not very impressed with the resort restaurant booking process. I was not able to book the restaurants I wanted. It was full already when we arrived. The only one time I was able to book a reservation and it was for after 9pm. I dont have the habit of eating late dinner. We did receive an upgrade of our room due to using Expedia member status. The food at the buffet was decent. I wouldn’t say it’s amazing cause it’s missing seafood section. The beach was full of seaweed. We didn’t use it at all this trip. The community did clean it daily but it’s just too much for them to clean every moment. The night entertainment crew was awesome as well. The dancers definitely put their heart and soul into the performances. Overall the stay was good. I would suggest providing food of the special restaurants at the buffet on certain days as well. This way we don’t get left out due to unable to book reservations.

Year 4 was a success.
This was our 4th year back visiting this resort. This place is great because of all the Greta people that work there. We started off each day with a great omelet breakfast from Obilia, she is great. Later as we were out by the pool the entertainment team does a great job of creating fun games and including my kids tk make sure they have a great time. Emmanuel, Marco and Gracie were awesome. They went out of their way to talk to my kids and make them feel special. When I was asking about activities for my teenagers Gracie set up volleyball game and got several other teenagers to come play. Dinner is probably the most frustrating thing about the resort. It is hard tk get a reservation at the restaurants around the resort and they are always half empty. They had a show each night and the dancers were great Julio and Laura would visit and take pictures with my kids after the show. And of course it was great to have Emmanuel and Gracie hosting the shows, karaoke or parties each week. Those 2 were great!!! It's people like these that make us return year after year!!!

Our flight was overbooked causing us to be a day late. They wouldn’t let us stay the remaining days and wouldn’t give a refund. We had Expedia book next door and they couldn’t find the reservation after paying for a second trip. Would not recommend this place with as clearly a flight issue isn’t our fault and they care more about their money than anything else. Gross business practices. Wouldn’t even let us enjoy the days we did book! Thousands of dollars robbed. Do not waste your time!!

April 10 - 17/2020 stay, we went with Sunwing Airline. What you need to know before you go and reach the hotel:- 1: Fill out the two forms online to save you time and inconvenience, these forms are : a) FMMd form ( Multiple Digital Migration Form also known as tourist card - one per person. b) Pay your tax online by filling out the VISITAX form (approx $20 cad). Each person has to pay for their share of tax. Arrival at Cancun airport - When exiting out, you have to check in your name with one of the Nexus tour guide, then they will tell you to wait for a bus. Sunwing documented that we have to have a mini bus, but the tour guide placed us in a big bus, big mistake which we were not aware of until we reached our destination. We were dropped off at the roadside in front of the hotel, which we have to drag our suitcase up a steep hill before we get to the entrance door. Check in - Smooth and seamless but we still have to wait on our room at 3:00 pm. Room- Very clean and tidy kudoos to the chamber maids. Food: Very God Bars: There are two bars one at the pool the other at the lobby, when there are shows there is a mini bar at the front of the entrance, The main bars open ate 11:00 am and closed at 11:59 pm. Shout outs:- 1: Mauricio at the pool bar demonstrates what customer appreciation truly, he looks around the bar to make sure that everyone has a drink and would ask if they needed anything, he did not pick and chose individuals unlike the others in the bar. Thank you very much Mauricio, keep up the good work to make sure this hotel keeps up with their standard. 2: Leonardo Castillo at the buffet, this guy not only overlooks his dedicated area of service, he looks around to see if anyone who just sat down and approach the table and ask if they needed anything, the guys who are dedicated to our table are standing next to our table without asking if we need anything, this was just a one time deal. Thank you very mush Leonardo. 3: Julio from the entertainment group, a your man who get us involved in some activities, with his sweet charm and personality, we very very pleased with his involvement with us, I believe with his interactions with us and other guesses, he is definitely thriving to be the best and without a doubt, one day he will be the team leader. Keep up and move forward Julio and special thank you to get us involved in most of your activities. 4: Liset the server, during her shifts, she walks around to clean tables and ensures that we have our drinks and keeps it coming when we need. Thank you Liset. Lastly:- Make sure you go to the front desk and confirm your pick time. We confirmed 48 hours before and was told that our bust would pick us up and 8:35am, much to our dilemma, the bust was waiting for us at 6:55 am. I hope that I help people to navigate their trip

Exceeded our expectations!!
GR Solaris Cancun exceeded all our expectations! The staff was unbelievably kind, attentive, and made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The resort itself is breathtaking — sparkling pools, pristine beaches, and beautifully kept grounds everywhere you look. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively yet relaxing, and every moment was truly unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again!
