What a beautiful week !
Just returned from beautiful Galley bay Resort. We were most fortunate to have beautifully sunny beach days with calm waves. The food choices were outstanding, freshly prepared and delicious. The attention to detail was amazing in every respect from everyone. Special shout out to Sandy “G” at the bar for going above and beyond in customer service ( from the apple vodka guy ) ! We will be definitely be returning. After having enjoyed more than 110 nights at other “adult all inclusive resorts”, this resort ranks at the top.

Heaven
We recently spent 10 nights at Galley Bay Resort and Spa and we couldn’t fault it in anyway. We were met with a glass of bubbly on arrival and taken by buggy to our room which was a deluxe beachfront room and we couldn’t have been happier. The views both back and front were amazing. We loved having a balcony front and back to sit on. We had everything we needed in our very spacious room, dressing room and bathroom. We had robes, slippers, snorkels, toiletries and a full mini bar which was replenished daily. The huge bed was so comfortable and it was so nice to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. We had done our homework so we sort of expected rough seas. We had a yellow flag most days but we could still go in to cool off if we wanted but there was an under drag you had to be aware of. We did visit the pool a couple of times but we preferred to sit on the beach and we were served refreshing cocktails and ice lollies most days. The food couldn’t be faulted. We ate breakfast at Seagrape and they had everything you could want. For lunches and evening meals we alternated between Seagrape and Gaugin. Both had excellent meal choices and service although we did prefer Gaugin for the setting and intimacy. We never had any problem booking the Gaugin at anytime of the day, maybe because we preferred the later sitting. The guests were roughly 50/50 Brits and Americans and most ‘of a certain age’! The entertainment each night was good and finished at 10.30pm. The staff were all so helpful and friendly and too many to name. Some were perhaps a bit more reserved than others but always polite. My husband had reservations about the dress code before we went but he said he actually liked wearing lightweight long trousers and canvas shoes as the evenings were not overly hot and it kept the mozzies away. It was nice to see everyone made the effort to dress up. Our only small gripe was that the wifi was very patchy. It was fine in our room but on the beach and in the restaurants you couldn’t always get it. Thanks to everyone for making this a truly wonderful relaxing holiday. We hope to return.

Restrictive dress code, dangerous beach and some rude staff
Dress code is ridiculous for men. When you pay for an expensive beach holiday do you really want to dress up like you are off to the office every evening? Galley Bay needs to sort this out. At least add smart shorts and drop all the foot wear restrictions. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and never had to put up with this nonsense Sea was dangerously rough. I was genuinely terrified trying to get off a catamaran - the beach should have been closed. The undertow is fierce. So much better to stay at the Royalton in the adjacent bay - it has a fabulous calm beach. We had similar problems to other reviewers with the staff. Many are lovely but some of the older servers in Grape restaurant are really rude and seem to take pleasure in it. We stopped having dinner there as it ruined atmosphere. Couldn't avoid them at breakfast though where they quite happily take 45 minutes to bring an order of burnt inedible pancakes. A buffet breakfast would be better.

A fabulous stay at Galley Bay!
We had a fabulous stay at Galley Bay! So many highlights and no bad points. We had a ground floor beachfront room it was great to walk out onto the beach and to have sunloungers just outside our room. Food and drinks all very good our favorite was the Gaguin restaurant for dinner and the Sea grape for breakfast. The beach is fabulous and we were able to swim every day, if the beach is not for you the pool area is spacious and also very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, they all wanted to make sure that you have a fabulous stay. We recommend a sailing trip with Captain Sean, he is a great host, he is very experienced and skilled and his boat is spotless and beautifully maintained, the snorkeling on the reef was amazing and the best way to see the island is to sail gently along the coast, thank you Captain Sean! The grounds of the resort are beautifully maintained and it is a totally relaxing experience, so a big thank you to the whole team at Galley Bay, you all get 5 stars
