Revisit Experience – A Pleasant Surprise
To be honest, I never thought I’d return to this resort after my previous visit. Having been a regular guest (visiting two to three times a year) it took me a year and a half to come back. But this time, everything felt different… in the best way. Value for Money: Yes, you truly get what you pay for. While it may not be a luxury resort, the cleanliness, quality of food, service, and the wide range of activities available made the stay more than worthwhile. Special Thanks to Pamela (Reservations): Pamela, you’ve been a consistent support throughout the years. Your dedication and consistent communication truly stood out. I was thrilled when you texted me confirming availability. Thank you for making it happen. You’re a true gem! Entertainment Team – A Round of Applause: What a difference from the past! The energy, enthusiasm, and creativity from the entertainment team was outstanding. Gerardo, the lovely lady supervisor, “The Master” DJ, and Bayron (aka Michael Jackson). You are all phenomenal. Your energy is contagious, and you made the experience unforgettable. Spa Experience: The massage I received, a combination of deep tissue and relaxation, was simply incredible. The masseuse has truly gifted hands. It was exactly what I needed. Guest Experience Team: My full respect to this team for managing so many guests. Thank you especially for helping me with the room service, it made all the difference. Luis (Bartender): Luis, you are hands down the best bartender we’ve encountered over the years. Your service, professionalism, and genuine hospitality are a class of their own. Maintenance Team: Though we had an issue with the TV that couldn’t be fixed, I appreciated the prompt response and the kindness of the two gentlemen who attended to it. They took the time to explain everything clearly and respectfully, thank you for that. Reception Team: A special shout-out to Monases, your friendly attitude, warm smile, and genuine willingness to assist truly stood out. It’s hospitality professionals like you who give the essence of great hospitality. Thank you Dereck for assisting us as well. Unfortunately, there was a comment made by another team member, Christian, that felt inappropriate and unnecessarily created tension. The statement, “I’ll give you the rate and the agent will pay the rest of it,” was uncalled for when I was just confused. As a hotelier myself, I found the whole interaction with him was disheartening, to the point where I considered no extending. Perhaps both staff members were trying to explain the same thing in different ways, but wording matters, especially in guest interactions. I share this feedback not as a complaint, but with the hope that it contributes to improving the experience for future guests. One comment can shift the entire tone of a conversation, and I believe the team has the potential to consistently shine with the right support and training. Overall, I’m glad I gave this resort another chance. This visit exceeded expectations and reminded me of why I loved coming here in the first place. Thank you to all those who made it special, I look forward to returning again.

Has potential to be a great resort but current management is running it into the ground
Older resort that needs some updating. Food was pretty much the same on buffets every day. The best restaurant were the Italian and Aromas. We did not have issues getting reservations. Office staff was very unorganized and lacked focus There is a huge breakdown in communication as we were not given information about excursions, entertainment, "Elite" benefits or just the ins/outs you would expect to know about. We never did get the room we exchanged for even with 3 moves during the week. Office staff could have cared less. Pools closed at 6 or 7 so not able to swim at night. Beach was clean and there was always chairs available. Music played loudly until 11pm every night so don't plan to get sleep before that.

A Perfect March Break Getaway — A Home Away from Home!
We stayed at Emotions by Hodelpa Playa Dorada over March break, (me, my hubby and our teen daughter) plus friend and I can confidently say it was one of the best vacation experiences we've ever had! The guest mix was perfect — a combination of adults and families. The atmosphere was both relaxed and vibrant, full of music, dancing, and fun for everyone, no matter the age. The hotel itself is not a huge property, but that’s part of its charm. It’s extremely well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and beautifully laid out with several cozy café terraces, a small sports court, a fantastic wine and oak bar, and a beer bar (available as an extra service). You can also elevate your stay with upgraded options if you wish. The beach deserves a special mention — it’s the biggest and widest beach in the area, with soft, golden sand perfect for beach volleyball and long walks. There were always enough sun beds for everyone, plus plenty of natural shade under beautiful palm trees as well as hotel-made shaded gazebos that made lounging by the ocean absolutely perfect. There are five restaurants, and we never had to wait in long lines or struggle to get reservations. Everything is extremely well organized. The buffet was hands down the best I have ever experienced (and I've traveled down south multiple times!). Every night featured different themed dishes — from pasta cooked to al dente perfection to roasted lamb, tender pork, and delicious Dominican steak. The chefs were amazing in creating such diverse menus every night, with incredible flavors and presentation. The variety and taste were simply unmatched. One of the biggest and most pleasant surprises was the 24/7 beach restaurant and bar. By day it was vibrant and lively, and by night it became quiet and romantic — a magical spot right by the beach. I need to give a huge shoutout to the incredible staff who made us feel like family: Estella, Jinette, Israel, Yosinda, Justino, and of course, "El Patron" Jose! You made every moment special. The housekeeping ladies deserve special thanks as well. After long sunny days, returning to an impeccably clean, cool room was such a joy. Even when I lost my key card, they helped me with a smile and genuine kindness. Maintenance was just as impressive — we had a small issue with the TV, and within hours it was fixed. And the entertainment team — wow! They went above and beyond with dancing, games, DJ sets, and karaoke fun. They kept the energy high and everyone happy. All in all, this resort made us feel relaxed, cared for, and completely stress-free for seven days. If you're looking for a smaller, intimate resort with world-class food, outstanding service, a breathtaking beach, and the perfect mix of relaxation and fun for all ages — look no further. We can’t wait to come back! And the entertainment team — wow! They went above and beyond with dancing, games, DJ sets, and karaoke fun. They kept the energy high and everyone happy.
