Excellent, relazing experience at Dreams Tulum
This was our first time visiting an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, and we were very satisfied with the experience. The personnel are exceptionally friendly and helpful at every venue, and we found good food at each of the restaurants we tried, especially at Seaside Grill which was our favorite. Our room was clean, spacious and in very good condition. We had the "Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View King Room" with an excellent view of the pool, beach and ocean. The bathroom, shower and tub area were huge, and the living room area had ample space for the two of us. The VIP desk was able to fix us up with excursions to the nearby ruins, cenotes, snorkeling and a taco tour in Playa del Carmen. The only venue we found disappointing was the Sky Bar, which claims to be a "sports bar", but was unlike any sports bar I've ever visited. It was simply a mostly empty room with a big TV screen on the wall and a bar in the corner. No tables, no sports memorabilia on the walls, and no food service. They did set up a bunch of chairs to show the NFL Conference Championships, which we appreciated, but the experience would have been better in a real sports bar with table, bar food, etc.

Dreams Tulum 1/2025
This resort was beautiful. So well maintained and mature. Staff everywhere, little to no lines at restaurants if you are willing to eat a littler earlier. Long and wide beach. Something to see every night and the specialty dinner was amazing. New airport makes the trip here well worth it.

Celiac / Coeliac / Gluten Free Review of 2025 Dreams Tulum
This review is focused on gluten free travellers, ignore if you are not one. My wife and I have travelled to this resort numerous times (we think 5 times) total now. I am celiac. We kept coming back because it was very easy to eat at this resort and every Dreams in general. We have not been back since Hyatt has taken over AMResorts. What a difference from the past.... At every sit down restaurant (World Cafe buffet, etc), they ask if you have a food allergy. The record this with room number, etc......Well that's basically the end of it. Note that when I looked at the hostess sheet there were others on a page list with "gluten" allergy. Nothing is labelled in the buffet. If you ask for the head chef he will come out and point what has "no gluten" (in one area). And there are things one can eat, actually quite a bit. It's infuriating, because the labels are made specific for the food, how hard is it to put a symbol or even (SG or GF). They just don't care. Vegan was labelled in some cases. They have "Salinas" packaged hard bread...sometimes. I emphasize sometimes, one day there must have been 200 packages set out in different spots and the next 2 days, zero, then 20 set out in a different spot (usually with salad). The make numerous fresh bread and deserts everyday, but none gluten free. They don't care. We ate at a restaurant 6 nights. Menus had gluten free symbols and in most cases you could order from that and it would be fine. Sometimes the menu had GF symbol, but was not GF according to waiter. The asian restaurants (if I remember correctly) basically have no GF options. Apparently, all the ice cream has gluten in it. I very suspicious the plain vanilla doesn't, but one can't argue. The (looked to be fried) corn chips apparently are GF (I am suspicious they are not). On the last day we went to a restaurant and were server by an older waiter. It was top notch, gluten free bread warmed up (looked like Shar sourdough), GF meal, and home made separate dessert. This is how it use to be. This waiter obviously had been trained by previous management. The whole GF disaster at Dream's is a management problem. Previously there were visible managers at the World Cafe, as soon as they found out you were GF they stepped in and made things happen. Now there seems to be zero managers and staff fend for themselves. I might try a higher end Hyatt property after carefully reading the reviews, but Dreams is off the list for GF in my book. Very disappointed and so easy for the management to fix it, just infuriating.

Resort needs a refresh
The resort is a bit dated. The room is clean and house keeping does a good job. I can’t open my closet door, there is rust in the shower, it is hard to open/close the sliding glass door to the patio. The Italian restaurant wasn’t that good. The Asian was good. The buffet restaurant has a lot of choices, but nothing is that appealing. If you want to sit at the beach in the shade you need to get there early and reserve a palapa. By 9am they are all gone.

Dreams Tulum is Dreamy!!!
We have visited and enjoyed very much several Secrets resorts, specifically Secrets Maroma, Secrets Akumal, and others, and decided to check out Dreams Tulum as a destination trip for future business trips and a family trip. Wow were we pleasantly impressed. The grounds and landscaping are visually beautiful, and transport one to multiple locations, both desert vibe and tropical. Love love the walkways lined with palm trees, giving us Beverly Hills vibes. Staff everywhere is professional and friendly, and as always, we are welcomed "Home". Food is good, but not as over the top cuisine as the Secrets resorts. We realize this is a family resort, but overall we enjoyed all the restaurants, specifically the Seaside Grill, the ocean waves as we dine by candlelight is truly heavenly. And the food is good, we especially enjoyed the salmon. We had great hamburger lunches, freshly grilled at the poolside grill, with lots of fixings and French fries. great for kids and adult alike. Fitness is important to us, so we were impressed with the cleanliness and the gym attendant, Horacio, who was incredibly diligent keeping machines and equipment germ-free and in good working order. They have plenty of free weights, waters, elliptical, bike, treadmills, etc. I also loved the outdoor gym, equipped with Flintstone style wood-hewn weights and room for lunges and any other outdoor workouts. A nearby tennis court had rackets and balls at the ready for a few sets. I really was impressed with Horacio, looking forward to seeing him on our next visit! Lots of wonderful trails meander through the resort, making it perfect for a quick run, or walks, the beach is long and beautiful, some guests walked for miles. Gorgeous views all around, from the lobby, the first glimpse at the resort and ocean is really breathtaking upon arrival. The Kids area is amazing! If you have small children, the staff is friendly and loves kids, little waterpark is in an enclosed area away from the main pool, along with gaming area for older kids and awesome nighttime actives for the parents to drop off their kids and go have a fun evening while the kids are well entertained! Overall, we loved this resort, and enjoyed it as much as the adults-only Secrets. Beautiful resort, great food, awesome, pools, and perfect if you do have kids too. Highly recommend!
