The workers are really nice and the entertainment team was entertaining and I really liked Angel (from the entertainment) he was a vibe you won’t be bored here! Also the beach is very nice very pretty a bit of algae but they clean it every morning. Over all the resort is very nice.

Sargassum swim out room
The most important part of our vacation is the beach. This resort does not take care of their beach. During the five nights we were there, the pile of sargassum on the beach simply piled up. During the last day, at the most prominent part it got a foot high and six feet long. The last morning we all got excited as there was equipment on the beach, guys with shovels, that simply made some piles.... and then left. By the last day, the pile of sargassum was not only high at the shoreline, but was backwashing into the water, so to get into the water to swim you had to wade through about 20 feet of brown murky water with floaters to swim. By days 4-5, the beach started to smell of rotten seaweed. If it were not for the sargassum issue, this would have been an absolutely lovely beach. They have beach chairs / palapas which require an 8 am rise at the latest to reserve a seat. Snorkels are not available for use - bring your own or you will have to purchase an overpriced one at the beach shop. Bring water shoes as the swim out part of the beach you can walk barefoot, but most of the beach is sharp coral. There is a really sweet guy on the beach that will take you out to the coral reef on a hobi sailboat to swim/ snorkel for about 20 minutes. He works on tips. Definitely use him, is its your only chance to see clear water here. Irena a the front desk was lovely and arranged for all of our transport to/front the hotel. Recommend doing this ahead of time as the drivers/ tours at the airports, both Tulum and Cancun have only gotten more and more aggressive. Speaking of aggressive, the Unlimited/ Premier sales pitches are overwhelming. We were grabbed right at check in, told that for a certain amount of resort cash we can listen to an "at most 90 minute" sales pitch. Do not get fooled. It was well over two hours. And since you are all dying to know, for 150,000 K you can get unlimited access to a several chains of resorts over the world. There are so many of these sales happening for hours every day that the line for breakfast is outside the lobby of the main buffet restaurant in the morning, filled with hotel guests with children waiting to eat, while all the tables are occupied with sales pitches noone wants to hear, and noone is eating at those tables. The beachfront building is the way to go, as this is a long thin resort with little waterfront property. We did pay for oceanview, but got PARTIAL oceanview. Rooms- well appointed, spacious. the balconies are lovely and it is nice to listen to the waves in the morning. Restaurants- the only one we enjoyed at nighttime was seaside/ mexican. Italian was gross. Asian was every permutation of fried rice with varying protein on the top. The beachside food every day at noon had really good seafood paella/ tacos/ coconuts and was fun. The grill at the pool served the same thing every day- burgers/ hot dogs and fries. Pools- nice. water is warm, and well maintained. Shops- overpriced. There is a lovely lady named Lidia trying her best. Drinks- heavily watered down. The cabernet was the most disguisting thing i've ever had. Stick to the Merlot for reds, its tolerable. Service- while everyone was lovely, we had to call three times for everything. Extra sheets for our daughter to sleep on. the preferences for the room fridge, even written down, never appeared. Overall, not a bad resort if they just took care of the beach and pulled back on the sales pitches.

Wonderful Family Holiday!
We spent nine fantastic nights at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa with our two boys, aged 10 and 13, and had a truly memorable holiday. From start to finish, the service was exceptional—every interaction, whether with bar staff, bellboys, or breakfast cooks, was met with a warm smile and friendly attitude. It’s clear that the team here takes pride in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all guests. Accommodation Our Deluxe Garden View room with two double beds was perfect for our family. It was clean, well-appointed, and included a separate shower and bathroom area. We especially appreciated the balcony, which was great for drying clothes and catching a sunrise or two. The mini-bar was replenished regularly, and when we did experience a minor issue with the air conditioning, it was resolved quickly and efficiently. Any additional requests, like extra towels or bottled water, were easily handled through the hotel’s user-friendly app—which also included menus, activity schedules, and restaurant bookings. Dining Experience The all-inclusive dining was a definite highlight. In addition to the World Café buffet, which offered a wide selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we enjoyed meals at several à la carte restaurants. Our favorites included Portofino for Italian cuisine and Himitsu for Pan-Asian dishes—especially the Teppanyaki experience, which was great fun for the whole family. As the only vegetarian in our group, I was pleased to find more than one meat-free option at every restaurant, including vegan choices. Staff consistently asked about allergies, and the World Café buffet was particularly accommodating. A special mention must go to Sobeida at the breakfast egg station—her energy and smile made every morning better, and her made-to-order omelettes were a hit with our boys. Resort Facilities The resort’s two main pools offered something for everyone. The quieter rectangular pool (which isn’t strictly adults-only) provided a relaxing spot with plenty of loungers and shade. The larger, lagoon-style pool was livelier, with music, games, and a swim-up bar—ideal for families and those looking for entertainment. Beach loungers were harder to come by, especially shaded ones, which tended to be taken early in the morning. Still, the beach itself was beautiful, with palapas offering much-needed shade. Activities & Entertainment We took part in a variety of fun daily activities, including salsa lessons, guacamole making, beach volleyball, and the always entertaining 3pm “crazy game.” The entertainment team—especially Giselle, Ronny, and Erik—deserve praise for their infectious enthusiasm and kindness. Evening entertainment was also varied and well-produced, with standout performances like the fire show, acrobatics, and silent discos. While the website suggested a wider range of water-based activities, most were unavailable during our stay. The only complimentary sea-based option was a 30-minute catamaran ride, which was enjoyable but limited. It would have been nice to have more water sport options, as initially suggested online. Extras and Service We used the resort’s photography service and were impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the team. Miguel, who welcomed us on our first day, took some lovely candid photos of our boys on the beach and was friendly / chatted with us throughout our stay. The concierge team was fantastic, especially Christian, who welcomed us with mojitos and gave a thorough overview of the resort’s services, excursions, and available vouchers for spa treatments and premium wine. While the spa looked beautiful, we found the treatments quite expensive, starting at around $150 for a 50-minute massage, so we didn’t take up the offer. Although our boys were too old for the kids’ club (which caters to the younger ages), it looked well-equipped, with fun waterslides. The gym was decent too, featuring treadmills, bikes, weights, and space for workouts. There’s also a tennis court, but it was too hot for us to use during the day. One notable incident occurred when our youngest son got accidentally locked in a toilet. Staff responded swiftly and professionally—particularly Ricky, who comforted both our son and his panicked dad until maintenance arrived. The whole situation was handled calmly and resolved within ten minutes. All in all, Dreams Tulum delivered an excellent family holiday. The combination of friendly staff, great food, lively entertainment, and beautiful surroundings made for a truly enjoyable experience. We would happily recommend it to other families looking for a fun and relaxing break.
