Dec 20, 2024Does Not Live Up to Dreams Brand
To say disappointed would be an understatement...but I will start with the good. Good: The staff and bartenders worked really hard to ensure our stay was pleasurable. Housekeeping was amazing and Magoule kept our room in tip top shape. Bad: The rooms were not properly stocked when we checked in. There were not enough towels and no wash cloths. When wash cloths were brought in they were visibly old and worn. Meals, every meal (especially lunch) featured the same proteins: chicken (thighs/legs), shredded beef, roast pork. The only difference was the sauce. The breakfast buffet was ok but be prepared to stand in long lines for omlettes as they only had one chef cooking those. Expect regular breakfast fare for the rest of the breakfast buffet plus one of the three proteins mentioned above. Lunch buffet, same meats mentioned above, with white rice and rice with vegetables and the addition of sauced noodles on specialty days...EVERY DAY. It also takes the staff a long time to replace empty food items on the buffet. It often felt like you were racing other guests to get a particularly tasty food item...because it would take them so long to replenish. During busy times (before and after dinner) be prepared to wait for drinks as they only have one bartender at the lobby bar to serve you. Entertainment is lacking. There is a disco/dance room but not a lot of variety of music. The saxophone band was pretty good though. Last, we went without water and air conditioning on our last day. Yep...had to board the plane with no shower. Didn't get the story on the why...but no water or air on the day we had to leave.

Disappointed
This resort is very outdated. Not close to a 5 star resort. Perfered rooms don't have no additional amenities. The pictures on the website need to be updated with the resort current images. I will not be recommending this resort to my clients.

Poorly managed resort. Had to continually ask for towels, minibar refill in room. Small buffet with little variety, daily. Staff shortage caused wait time to get a cocktail. Staff was pleasant but needed additional resources. Room was sub-par even though we paid extra for upgrade to suite. Ended up moving the first day to be closer to preferred club pool, services we paid extra for. I relied heavily on the Hyatt name when booking this resort. Very disappointing. We will not return.

Dreams Playa Bonita is a beautiful hotel and very clean. Food was delicious. It’s right by the beach. It lacked on entertainment. Solicited was beautiful but I wish they would do more upstairs by lobby bar where most people hang out. We didn’t have water or A/C last day of our stay.

The staff was very friendly, but there was not enough of them to service all of the guests in a timely manner. The food was good, but the app did not have accurate information as to what days each restaurant was open. House keeping and the staff that stocks the minibar came throughout different times of the day so it was difficult to predict when they would be coming, but they did a great job of keeping everything clean and well stocked, particularly if you asked them for something specific. There is a lot to do in the area around the resort (within a half hour to an hour drive) but not a lot going on at the resort in the way of entertainment. If you are looking for a resort to lounge around in the pool or on the beach, it is a very very nice resort.
- AdvisoryStudent Groups (Spring Breakers) are not permitted at Hotel. A student group consist of those that travel without parent supervision or a responsible adult in each room. This could refer to but not limited to high school students or college students booking multiple rooms. The hotel reserves the right to deny lodging to any reservations of this type.
- AdvisoryThe shuttle service is removed from the resort to Albrook Mall and Casco Antiguo.
- AdvisoryRepairs to the infinity pool have begun, with an expected completion date of Wednesday, September 28, 2022. During this time, three other pools on property will remain open for guests, while the infinity pool will close for the duration of the project. In order to provide the Unlimited-Luxury® signature concept guests have come to know and expect, the area will be covered, and guest disruption will be minimal.
