Very happy with our stay.
Very happy with our stay. Byron Mercedes was our butler and went above and beyond every day to make our stay feel like home. He was attentive and great at communicating everything that was happening/available. The staff was very friendly and always accommodating. The pool cabanas are worth the extra money, but the beach was great as well.

This resort is worthy of your time and money
The property is beautiful, well maintained and well planned. The "family side" is about a ten minute walk along the beach where there are some restaurants and the outdoor theatre. We were in a garden view Enclave suite. The suite was comfortable, very clean, and well appointed. Argentina, our housekeeper kept it spotless. The entertainment in the lobby was very good. The restaurants were all above average to excellent. We had almost no problems with service, although Mare let us down twice. Still the food was very good. The tepanyaki at the asian restaurant was fun and the food great. You MUST make reservations for this. The Italian and French restaurants did not disappoint and the Meditteranean was just as wonderul. I don't like buffets, but this one was a cut above. Fresh food, proteins (chicken breats, steak, pork) cooked from fresh right in front of you. The staff is friendly. It seemed that tips were not expected but received with sincere gratitude when made. If you book Enclave or upgrade to it, you won't be disappointed. The pool is lovely. There is a bar with swim up at that pool and also on the deck side. The bartenders seemed more engaged with the swim up customers and not so much on the deck, but still nice enough. The Enclave lounge? Better than any we've experienced and we have experienced many. So many food options throughout the day, it's own bar and comfortable, spacious seating. This is an unpopular subject, but to the cigarette smokers out there...No smoking on the balconies or patios. Hefty fine if caught. Some folks broke the rules and didn't get fined, others did. There are designated smoking spots on the adult side - in direct sunlight and no seating. The idea being smoke your cigarette and move on. On the Family Side behind the theater and, ironically, adjacent to the children's play area, is what a little boy I heard call the "smoking tree." A large shade tree, with benches and cement ashtrays. No such thing on the adult side. I understand that it would be logistically and economically unfeasable for the resort to designate rooms that would allow smoking outside on a balcony or patio. An area like the "smoking tree" on the adult side would be nice. I met so many folks from the UK, Germany, France and Holland at the smoking poles. Some said as much as they loved the resort they wouldn't come back because of the smoking policy. One couple said it's inconvenient, but they come back repeatedly. My husband would make this an annual trip for us. I am more of a mind that I can stay at another resort that may be a little "less than" this resort if I could have a cigarette with my morning coffee or evening wine. To use a sort of "Star Wars" reference, the "force is strong" with the smokers. This resort is worth the price. There is a lot to compliment.

Gorgeous location
The resort is great location for beach and pool. If you want calm waters and great view this is great a great beach. It wasn’t overcrowded and the stress of making reservations for the restaurants immediately when we got here wasn’t felt. Highly suggest booking a cabana at the beach or infinity pool. Only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because the service wasn’t as expected. That being said we had Victor as our butler and he was great! 5 stars for victor. When we brought up concerns we had with him he was on it and made it right!

Relaxed and rested
Resort is beautiful. Well kept. Beach is gorgeous. Went for girls trip on the adults side and we are leaving rejuvenated and well rested. Loved how open and not crowded this resort has been. Breakfast and lunch at Mare were a favorite - wonderful service. We did the enclave room level and I recommend. Very happy with the concierge we had, Victor Val. He helped us with reservations at the hibachi and getting a cabana for the day - very responsive and on top of it whenever we needed anything! Nice to have access to the lounge and buffet for enclave too! Such a special trip!

Redeemed the DR for me
Not long ago I visited the DR for the first time and stayed at an all inclusive in Punta Cana, went home very sick and determined to never go back. A friend wanted to celebrate her birthday on the beach and I reluctantly agreed. This trip was complete redemption! The Hilton La Romana Adults only was amazing. We had the absolute best time from check in to check out. We stayed in the Enclave section, I would say that the swim up room while nice wasn’t worth it as we never used it. The beach and other pools were fabulous, never crowded, and we didn’t feel the need to stay at the room. Other than that the room was great, clean and comfortable. As mentioned, the beach and pools were beautiful. The perk of the Enclave room is a dedicated area at the beach that is guaranteed shade. The water is crystal clear, sandy and calm. The pools and beach never felt overly crowded and we were there during spring break season. The bartenders and wait staff were so friendly and accommodating. My friend was learning Spanish and everyone was so kind and patient with her - always appreciative that she was trying and correcting her when she was getting it wrong. We tried a number of the restaurants and never had a bad meal. We loved the ambiance of the Caribbean restaurant, and our waiter Jesus was fabulous. We also ate at Mare, Noor, the buffet, the Japanese restaurant (not teppanyaki), the Peruvian and the Grill. No reservation needed at any point, nor did we have to wait to be seated. We also enjoyed the live music playing in the lobby every night. We ended our trip at the spa for a massage. Wish we had planned more time to enjoy the spa grounds and other services. 10 out of 10 vacation, can’t wait to go back!
