Great start to 2025
Dreams Resort Huatulco was very clean and had a great family atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. Pools were a lot of fun and the restaurants were accommodating with great food. Would highly recommend and we will definitely come back.

Excellent in every way, and great for couples!
We have enjoyed a number of all-inclusive resorts in Mexico – Cancun, Cozumel, Cabo San Lucas – but Dreams Huatulco is the best that we have experienced. This resort exudes excellence in every way. Here’s a summary of our experience: Dreams Huatulco is a short cab ride from the Huatulco airport and is located on a beautiful bay with a lot of natural beauty. Sand extends out well beyond the swimming area, and if you enjoy snorkeling there is a rocky area that extends out into the bay with a lot of fish to enjoy. There are plenty of chairs on the beach and an abundance of grass-roofed palapas to find shade from the mid-day sun. The property itself feels new and is very well-designed and well-maintained. Our room was large and modern, with a great bed and a spacious shower. While we spent most of our outside time on the beach, there are five pools – two are adult and two family, the 5th was on the opposite end of the property and may have been for “club” members. Regardless we never went near the 5th pool. One adult and one family pool were infinity pools overlooking the beautiful bay. We had a hard time deciding which aspect of the resort was more impressive – the staff or the food. Our experience with (and also our observations of) the staff – front desk, servers, entertainment team, housekeeping, even grounds-people – we saw a general attitude and a level of attention to detail that radiated a commitment to the best possible guest experience. The food at Dreams Huatulco was the most consistent that we’ve ever experienced – every meal was excellent. We ate dinner at each restaurant on the property (except the Buffet) – Seafood grill, Asian, Italian – and twice at the Oaxacan/Mexican restaurant El Patio, which was our favorite. The first night at El Patio we enjoyed excellently-crafted Mezcal cocktails and ordered from the menu – exquisite! Our second visit we opted for the taco bar, which featured Tinga, Picadillo and Barbacoa served with special tortillas being made fresh as you watched. Our first visit was enhanced by a wonderful Mariachi duo who strolled table to table. Two nights we enjoyed special outdoor dinner/shows – one was Oaxacan night celebrating the state’s history and culture and featuring a wonderful singer and an incredible group of dancers in an array of beautiful traditional costumes. The food buffet was fresh and delicious and we enjoyed a bottle of wine – a tasty Mexican red blend. The second outdoor dinner/show as a Fire Show – very exciting and again accompanied by an extensive and delicious buffet. We did enjoy the Buffet Restaurant every day for a late breakfast/early lunch (11 am-ish). We tended to choose the Oaxacan options – chilaquiles, plaintains, tlayudas, tamales – along with fresh fruit and a great assortment of breads and pastries. But if you prefer there was an omelet station, a bagel station and always yogurt and hot cereals. Not to mention the fresh juice options which might include watermelon, melon or papaya juice. We were not at Dreams Huatulco with small children, but we did notice some family programming, including nightly poolside family movies. And while we saw a lot of families and a lot of kids, Dreams Huatulco never felt like an overwhelmingly FAMILY resort anywhere on the property. A few final observations that might be helpful: • There is very little immediately outside of the resort – a small tienda for snacks and forgotten items (like a toothbrush) and a pharmacy for basic needs. But Huatulco city center is a short and inexpensive (MX$80 for us) cab ride away if you’d like an afternoon exploring – the central park (Zocalo) features a beautiful cathedral and is surrounded by shops and restaurants. • Unlike other resorts that we’ve visited in (for example) Cancun and Cozumel, the majority of guests during our visit were Mexican couples and families – probably 60-65% of the guests. Canadians were also very well-represented (30%). Americans were relatively rare. We really enjoyed the opportunity to use our limited Spanish language skills to interact with staff and other guests. But as a guest here it will be helpful to come with at least a few basic expressions (Gracias, Por Favor, Buenos Dias, Buenos Tardes, Hola) and a degree of patience for staff members who are doing their best to learn English while providing excellent service. • I touched on this above but compared to other family resorts that we have visited, Dreams Huatulco was a very, very comfortable place for couples, even those who might prefer an adults-only resort.

Wonderful gem.
Excellent place, quiet and vibrant at the same time. The services and activities are good. Was worthy the long trip, wish I can stay longer than 4 nights to be able to explore more. Housekeeping excellent. Activities in a good amount and variety.

The beautiful bay of Tangolunda and the staff that made us fall in love with their resort!
Merder, Alexis, Cristina, Gerardo, Guadalupe, Maxamilliano, and Dr. Andres gave us such great care and attention. We stayed in the junior club suite on the fifth floor and had the most amazing view! Merder the bellman had the biggest smile and attention to detail every time I saw him. He always checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Cristina in the Preferred Lounge became like a sister. She went out of the way to assure we enjoyed our food by ordering off buffet items. Dr. Andres gave me peace, as my husband became ill and within a half an hour he was asleep and feeling more like himself once awake. The community of guests were so friendly and fun. The beaches were clean, and the water was so clear! We had a large school of beautiful blue fish swimming around outer feet in the shallow area. If you are considering Huatulco I would say don't think, just go! The people, their culture of sustainability, and the beautiful views will steal your heart!

Great vacation !
We had a great vacation at Dreams ! This is our second time at Dreams (last time was over 10 years ago) and some things are the same and few things have changed. The weather was perfect and the ocean was so therapeutic ! Mostly calm, blue and clear water ! The beach while also beautiful is a lot steeper than it was years ago so not quite as easy to walk on. The adults only pool was very nice and quiet. The whole area is so beautiful ! Our room was very nice and close to the pool and the beach. I think the best thing about this resort is the staff ! Everyone from the front desk, bartenders, servers, cleaning staff were so friendly, helpful and very hard working !! Mario the concierge was awesome ! He would come by and chat with us and let us know about the special events that were happening that day. I wish I could remember the names of the other amazing staff! They were all great ! The only thing thing that we were a bit disappointed with was some of the food. My husband had the mahi mahi fish at the Sea Side Grill and it was bone dry and he could not eat it. But then our friend ordered it and he said it was moist and great. We found that the meat at the special events buffets were also very dry. We had one really great meal at the Porta Fina restaurant and then the second meal my chicken was so dry that I could not eat it. We did enjoy the food at the Asian restaurant. So for us the food was hit and miss ! All in all we had a great time and would recommend Dreams Huatulco
