A disappointing stay
We read the reviews and kept an open mind. Really wanted to love this place but were so disappointed. I don’t really know where to start. The food was terrible. Spirits were nearly undrinkable and the cocktails full of syrup or strangely out of a slushy machine. The staff rude and so clearly could not be bothered, spent most of their times in groups chatting with each other. The only exception to this was Davian, a really helpful waiter usually in the Tui breakfast area, the lovely guy who takes luggage to the rooms (sadly didn’t get his name) and the hardworking gardeners. The rooms were clean but if you were anywhere near the road, the noise at night was relentless. Made sleep very difficult. I do actually question if our sheets were changed during our stay but the towels were replaced daily. The beach was unremarkable with broken sunbeds (if you could actually get one). The quiet pool was nice apart from everyone smoking around it even though there were no smoking signs everywhere. The staff just ignored this. Easier that way I suppose, or they would have to get off their bar stools and do some work. All in all we would not return. We have visited some lovely Caribbean islands , stayed at 5 star and 3 star. This resort is definitely 1/ 2 star.

Terrible
The food was awful with flies sitting comfortably on food. Food not replenished just dumped into another container of which the combination looked terrible. Restaurant staff rude and unhelpful as tables laid up were for people who tipped each time. The staff at the Al La Carte restaurant ( book early) saved my birthday with a lovely reception and meal. The Jetty bar was okay but kept on running out of beer, rum and gin and never any cocktails. The staff there were friendly as was the ground staff. Music was so loud and distorted but wouldn’t turn it down and the entertainment staff were the rudest . If you want a towel it is pot luck I would advise to take your own as we purchased our own in the outside supermarket . Our room was on the beach so watched the sun bed wars in the morning and again who pays staff to put towels on got one. Where ever you went money talked . The rooms were tired but clean except the bath which looked like someone had been killed, dismembered and boiled in acid and beware of the shower, no control they go scolding hot then freezing cold . It is a shame as could be a lovely place. After a year of saving to go for a special birthday was so disappointed.

Average stay
Very nice hotel but some restaurant staff need training in public service very rude towards visitors, big turn off. food needs to improve. Entertainment staff were great, bar staff very pleasant. Drinks were good and beach was nice. Staff at front very welcoming and delivering luggage to rooms very nice.

Nice hotel!
Just spent 9 nights at this hotel and our bungalow was right on the sea front, it was lovely. A little dated but that's what we expected. The cleaners where good, came every day and left clean towels and a bottle of water. The staff were lovely and were especially good with my little boy, he loved having a game of football on the beach with the staff. The downside to this hotel in my opinion would be the food and entertainment. I'm not a fussy eater so usually found something but it did get repetitive. Some of the food bland! Breakfast had everything that would normally be on a breakfast buffet but they seemed to do strange things with the beans, like throwing veg in them and one morning even fish which I found odd. Maybe it's a normal thing in Jamaica! They would make you fresh omelettes or fried eggs if you requested them. My 7 year old really struggled at meal times and he's not the fussiest of eaters. Only once did I see a kiddies buffet on and that was 1 night at the evening meal time. there was a snack bar from 3pm til 5pm but it was always pretty much the same. He lived off toast most of the time. If your a fussy eater then I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The entertainment wasn't the best, there were a couple of nights when they had bands on which were pretty good but the rest of the time it was not good at all. The only good thing about it was that it didn't go on too late! Weekends were loud until early nights because of the nightclub but that didn't really bother me but it would bother someone who was a light sleeper. Overall I quite enjoyed my time here, beach and huts made the holiday but would I book it again? Probably not and that purely because of the food situation and entertainment. We paid for a 3 star hotel and that's what we got! I have given it a 4 star purely for the huts and beach!

Extremely poor customer service
I have been to this property many times ..three in fact for the year of 2024 . I know not to expect much more than a three star but I absolutely love the property. Love the staff and absolutely love the cottages . my trip November 18 to the 25th, unfortunately was a nightmare from start to finish. I ended up in the hospital . And had ZERO assistance from the hotel while I was there other than the fact that they called WestJet vacations to come and pack up my room while I was in the hospital and bring me my belongings just so that they would be able to have it booked the same day to the next arriving guests. I just want to make sure that everybody knows to absolutely bring proper travel insurance when you travel to Jamaica . their hospital system is vastly different from what you are used to in Canada or the United States as I learned that first hand before I was able to transfer to the private hospital in Montego Bay at which point I had to put out 10,000 US dollars to be admitted…. Apparently my travel insurance does not bill directly to Hospiten. All in all a major disappointment with this hotel for the total lack of care or concern for a repeat customer who travelled solo to Jamaica and was hospitalized 4 days. My return flight was rebooked by WestJet. To this day not a single notice of concern for my well being despite many attempts to reach out to guest relations. Go with an open mind of what you expect. … and hopefully your experience is better than my last one was.!
