- Other Local AttractionsCozumel is rich in history and natural wonders. Popular destinations include ancient Mayan temples on the north side of the Island; the sanctuary to Ix- Chel -the fertility goddess- in San Gervasio and the Museum of the Island of Cozumel, with its colorful displays of underwater reefs and other Island treasures. At El Cedral, on the south side of the Island, the oldest Maya structure on Cozumel built in A.D. 800 can be found. Nearby a towering lighthouse at Punta Sur offers a 360-degree view of the Island.
Cozumel is habitat to many nature reserves: the Cozumel Marine Reef National Park, Chankanaab Park and Lagoon, and Punta Sur. Botanical gardens at Chankanaab Park display 350 different types of tropical plants from more than 20 countries. Another attraction is the dolphin aquarium, treating visitors to a close-encounter with playful dolphins. Punta Sur is a new eco-tourist park for visitors interested in learning about the Island's native flora and fauna. Encircling a region known as Colombia Lagoon, Punta Sur is a unique setting of mangrove jungles, white sandy beaches and reef formations. The Park's information center allows visitors to watch a 20-minute video and learn about different eco-systems, environment and native birds, turtles, alligators, fish and coral in the Park. At the information center, visitors can rent electric bikes to explore Punta Sur on their own.

Our stay was amazing, thanks to Aillin who was fantastic, her service made it extra special. Highly recommended and remember to ask for Aillin. The hotel was nice and clean, all the staff were friendly and it has easy access to a wonderful beach.

Great place to spend a dive week!
Great place - once the staff figured out we were fun Gen-Xers and not stuffy Boomers, we had a blast! - The place was clean and you could tell they are modernizing it while keeping up standards. Lots of stuff to do when not diving and the sales staff for off site activities were very professional and not pushy at all.

Cozumel high energy and Fun
The entertainment was fantastic , Juanita & Suny did a phenomenal job with activities. Non stop energy…. They are so positive and made our stay more enjoyable.. they should get a promotion… thanks guys for making my stay so much fun.. They did a great job getting everyone involved in most of the activities. With kind encouragement, the guest were all excited to participate…. She has some much energy, and she goes nonstop to ensure to are having a great vacation.. friendly and very professional..

Apr 07, 2025Excellent Week at the Wyndham Cozumel
My wife and I just returned from a week-long stay at the Wyndham Cozumel and Resort and it was a great experience. I will say that the vast majority of the reviews on Trip Advisor and spot on about this resort. If you go there with the right level of expectations you will likely not be disappointed with your stay. The service of the staff and employees is exceptional. Everyone was incredibly friendly and would really go out of their way to help us enjoy our stay at the resort. From the people in the lobby, to the restaurants and bars and entertainment staff by the hotel, I can't say enough nice things about them. The food is mostly buffet style and while it was certainly not a gourmet experience, there was always 2-3, if not more, really good options at every meal. Unless you are the pickiest of eaters or have unrealistic expectations, you should be able to find your fair share of good things to eat. The maintenance and housekeeping staff are extremely hard working. It seemed like everywhere I looked, someone was cleaning or working on upgrading something at the resort. Cleaniness is always the highest priority for me at any hotel or resort I stay at. As a lot of other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are a bit spartan and could use some very minor upgrades. The rooms really need a dresser so you have some place to unpack your clothes. That would not be a big deal if you were only staying a couple of nights, but for a week it gets to be a bit of a hassle having to leave your clothes in your suitcase and with nowhere really to put your suitcase. It was really nice having a fridge in the room so we had a place to store drinks and some small snacks. They also went out of their way to provide us with a number of extra pillows as well. We did not spend a lot of time in our room, except to sleep at night. The rooms could also use a fresh coat of paint. All in all, I loved our stay and will defintely be back on our next trip to Cozumel. As long as you are not expecting a 5-star luxury resort, you will likely enjoy your stay as well.

Go-To for Scuba trip!
The rooms could use an update but the property is well kept. Great amenities. Recommend the inclusive package. All meals come with many options so all tastes/needs can be met. We love Cynthia in the dining staff, she took excellent care of our silly little group. And bonus - she speaks some Romanian! The dive shop is responsible, attentive, and the mascot (coati) Pancho is a constant on the roof next to the shop. We loved our boat crew on the Atlantis, excellent divemasters who knew their spots. We enjoyed wreck dive, deep dive option, tunnels, so very much wildlife in this beautiful place.
