Amazing experience, great for families.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the resort so far, we got the upgraded room (Premium Deluxe). I highly recommend this if you have kids. We have a minibar with pop, beer, and water, BUNKBEDS, and a walk in shower. The buffet has more options (La Brisa) and the Japanese À la Carte is AMAZING and so is the Grill! We went with two young children and the staff were so accommodating. We would definitely come back (but only if we stay on the Riviera Maya side and probably upgrade to Exclusive next time). Marco at the Grill was exceptional, so accommodating. ❤️ We are so thankful that we chose CRM for.our first vacation as a family of four.

Good Vacation but missed not having a beach
Check-in was fast and easy. Rooms We booked a premium room but in my opinion it was actually just a standard room. There was nothing premium about it. The buffet Las Brisas. We ate at this buffet every morning for breakfast and we really liked it. The scrambled eggs with spinach was really good. I had that every morning. The sausage, bacon and the cut up potatoes that were fried with onions and peppers were really good. We also ate here for lunch everyday, there were a lot of selections. Chicken was always tender and tasty. Reserving ala cartes I was able to book every morning. Except for one morning for the ala cartes, it was really easy as long as you knew what you were doing and prepared before 8 o'clock. you want to know where you wanted to go and at what time and you have to do this really fast so that you get in as they book up fast. Japanese We tried it one night. We weren't too crazy about it so we did not go back.It was just okay. Toscano Italian restaurant We went here three times we thought it was pretty good. The cheese dish starter was good and the salad with goat cheese excellent. The chicken was always tender and tasty. The Mexican restaurant We went here 3 times and we thought it was quite good.We really liked the tacos. The Grill steakhouse We went here 4 times and this was our favorite. Especially for the dessert, the apple crumble and the New York cheesecake awesome. The shrimp and potato salad sounds weird BUT it was really, really good. The new york steak, medium rare was good. Burger place We only went one time.We weren't too crazy about it.I had the pulled pork and it was mushy pork on a hot dog bun.It was not good. But the starter potato wedges with everything on it was really good.It was a small portion so don't get 1 to share get one each. This was the only thing we liked, the hamburgers were just OK. The beach and the ocean There is no beach here really, but if you like snorkeling it's really great saw lots of fish all different types. As we really like a good beach, this is the main reason we would not return.

Great value for your money
First off, don’t be swayed by the poor reviews. Good and the bad will follow We did upgrade to the privilege room, this offers the beloved restaurant. Beloved is a Great restaurant from start to finish Rooms are nice, beds good and air conditioning great. Buffet food was acceptable, fish was awesome Desserts are fantastic Entertainment group works hard to entertain All in all, it’s a great value for the money Bad - restaurant booking are open at 8am and are GONE at 8:03am

Pay thousands to be treated like crap is what Americans do. Let’s pay for something extra and get nothing in return.
I’d probably give it a zero if you could. We paid for privilege. I paid $14,000 for 10 family members. Well you can’t get reservations to dinner even if you try. They say 9pm only. Yet we glance in a restaurant and half the tables are empty every damn night.

You will regret this. Do not book.
Save yourself the trouble. My husband and I booked a 9 days stay here and we were ready to leave after the first night. The rooms are old and in terrible need of rehabilitation. You literally can hear everything around you even with all your windows and doors closed AND there was A LOT of noise. Unfortunately for us we were lodged right next to the kitchen as well so we were constantly hearing the hustle and bustle of the entire resort. We even found a cockroach in our room. Additionally, by the second day of our stay, we were both sick because the air condition furnace was old and dirty so the air filtering in made us sick. Outside of the terrible room, the food options you have are 2 buffet dining options that serve an identical menu almost every single day. They had the exact same food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner all 9 days that we stayed here. They also do have 4 specialty restaurants that you must have a reservation beforehand. However, it’s almost impossible to get a reservation for these restaurants. You must wake up at 8am the day you intend to book and hope that everyone else is asleep and you might be lucky to get a reservation. Lastly, the beachfront is less than a mile long and the beach chairs are almost impossible to reserve. Oh and not to mention the hotel has a caste system going on where some guests have special privileges. They give you a colored bracelet when you check in and your color essentially determines what you have access to and how you’re treated throughout your stay. I booked a premium room and had an absolutely horrendous experience here. I even offered to pay for their highest standard room after the first night and they refused. Save yourself the nightmare and enjoy your vacation elsewhere. I would never ever book another Catalonia resort/hotel stay again. We travel quite often and I always make sure to book a premium equivalent room or above and this was by far the worst place we’ve ever stayed. Pros: very friendly and kind service providers(in general), excellent security.
