    Go elsewhere:).

Currently staying with 4 families. Resort is not too busy. Food - it’s ok to poor. First of all- lots of options. But, servers take forever and food arrives cold. If you want burgers, pizza, fries- it’s decent. Pasta, Mexican, chicken, tacos- cold. If you want a healthy option, you need to go to the buffet. If you have ALLERGIES, as two people do in our entire group, you must watch like a hawk!!! They do NOT care or understand. You need to make resos to eat at restaurants but honestly we just don’t want to stay awake until midnight to make these. Also, Mexican resto is not good. Service - it’s ok to poor. We’ve been to 10+ resorts and this is pathetic. Staff are just not happy or friendly. Not sure what is going on. Some are very nice and friendly:). Asked 3 people over 50 minutes to please wipe our table. Rooms- clean and new. One party had troubles with their fridge and needed it for their medication - front desk did NOT care. Privilege - 3 of 4 families have this. Gets you into buffet into a special side. The special side is nice and quiet. But HALF empty, so when we’ve asked if we can just get seated, you still wait in a long line until they get to you. You have access to Bloved, breakfast was not good, dinner was fine:). So- not so special. Buffet - very long line. They need more staff all around. Coffee. Coffee place takes FOREVER. I’m not even a coffee drinker but takes a crazy amount of time. Ideally, also would love if this place would stay open past 9pm. They are constantly out of oat and lactose free milk. Ice cream- just going to say….Are you really at a resort in Mexico if the ice cream place closes at 5 pm? We have kids in our party, and so big disappointment. Overall- undermanaged, not friendly, food is poor. Go elsewhere:). Family member tried to address allergy issue- front desk did not care.

    Poor value for the money

Long wait for #AirCanadaVacations transfer from the airport. Our precious time at the beach they are trading for maximum profit while filling in big buses and collecting everyone who is going in this direction. Arriving at the hotel which is just half a hour from the airport two and half hours after landing is unacceptable. Miguel, key account rep, company representative for Air Canada Vacations refused to do anything about transfer delay. It doesn’t matter how many flowed and made-up pieces of data they use to tell you that they still within allowed wait times, they forget that main objective is to make paying customers happy. Same on the way back, they want you to leave five hours before flight departure, effectively destroying the whole day of vacation. While I respect hard working people from Air Canada, I would say avoid booking with Air Canada Vacations. The hotel itself. Check-in experience was long and tedious, the room wasn’t ready as they were trying to fix it. Since they couldn’t fix it, they just gave us a different type of room without being honest about it. New room had damaged piece of furniture. And to add to it, the “privileged room” has a view and smell of the bbq restaurant. If you are in the building 2 or 3 and facing main 5th Avenida, beware that you will permanently stay at the bbq site. 24 hours later, thanks to David and Fernando’s help we ended up in a much better room, the nicely appointed rooms do exist in this hotel! The beach was great, probably the only feature that we can’t complain about. And if you are here for the sea, you’d love it. It was stormy at times, but we went for walks. Restaurants. Impossible to book good early times using their app. Very buggy challenging to use App and website. And frankly not sure why anyone would want to bother. We had privileged band, so we could go to BLoved, where for the most part we’ve encountered great customer service and good food. Pretty much BLoved and buffet that’s the only two food options I would recommend. Mexican food was good, service fast, maybe too fast for dinner 😊. For lunch ceviche place was a good option. They also have coffee shop with some pastries, which is convenient option. Overall Catalonia’s experience was okay but not for the money we paid.

    Wonderful vacation.

I have stayed at another Catalonia resort a few years ago and this one was just as wonderful. The hotel is clean and beautifully decorated. Our maid Katia was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed to make us comfortable. The main buffet served a great variety of meals which were delicious and beautifully presented. Our favourite a la cart restaurant was The Grill. We ate there twice and both times had the steak. The swimming pools were nice and clean and the beach was close by and lovely. I hope to return here with my husband next spring.

    BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!

What a beautiful place with beautiful people!!!! My late 70s senior parents were there for their 50th anniversary. I was so worried about them traveling by themselves. But with amazing customer service, they had reallh good time. Cstomer service manager Mr.Salvador was texting me through WhatsApp and letting me know how they were doing. It was so sweet....!!!!!! My parents had wonderful time. They can't wait to go back. ♡♡♡♡ THANK YOU !!!!

    Catalonia grand costa mujeres

I would rate the resort an 8 out of 10. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the resort itself is large and beautifully maintained. However, I would suggest that the check-in process include a staff member to guide guests around the property so they can familiarize themselves with key areas more easily. The buffet exceeded my expectations, offering a wide variety of options with delicious food. On the downside, I had a disappointing experience at Tao, where I was served with unclean utensils. Additionally, the resort could benefit from having more convenient locations for beach towel pick-up, as the current setup requires guests to go all the way to the end.In terms of drinks, I highly recommend skipping the bar hopping and heading straight to the tequila bar to find Alfonso—he’s an amazing bartender and will make your night unforgettable.
