Happy smiles clean enjoyment
Another great stay, water was a little rougher this year which was a disappointment but happy faces of staff and clean pools make up for it. Only recommendation was this year, our third stay people were saving cots around pool area at 6 AM and not sitting in them till 11 AM this spoils the enjoyment and why we stopped going to Aruba. Next year will be a test if repeat with cots I am done, too bad this is not controlled as I love this place and so does my husband.

A totally first class experience.
This is the first time at the Bougainvillea and we have been extremely impressed by the total experience. Reception were very welcoming, efficient and eager to help. Our room is very well equipped with everything you could need. Great quality towels changed every day if you wish, good toiletries, comfortable massive bed and brilliant air conditioning. We are here on a self catering basis and again the apartment had all you need. Location is fantastic right on the beach and the hotel provides beach towels, Sun beds and parasols as part of your stay. There is live entertainment, normally musicians and singers most evenings and some afternoons. Restaurant is right on the beach and serves all meals. The food is very good. The swim up pool bar is Great and had happy hour from 3.30-4.30. Finally we cannot praise enough all the staff who work at the hotel. We have never known a more pleasant and friendly staff who seem dedicated to not only keep the hotel immaculately but also to ensure the guests have a first class holiday. Many thanks for making our holiday special.

Great place
Lovely hotel, beautiful environment, lots of greenery. The beach is amazing and the water is crystal clear but a little rough (not recommended for kids). I believe that all the rooms have a great view as it seems all of them are facing the beach. Room was spacious, so was the patio. Kitchen in the room was a bit old, but well equipped. The food at Calabash Beach Bistro was always delicious and most of the staff were very friendly (Tremaine with his big smile, Lisbeth always in a good mood),we tried Deia once, it was also lovely, but the music was a bit too noisy so we could not hear each other. Great job from the watersport team as well (just sometimes they run out of towels and we had to wait). Overall a great stay, would love to come back.

Lovely nine night stay!
A wonderful nine night stay at the Bougainvillea. Never having been to Barbados previously, we were recommended this hotel which met our preferred criteria of not being too large, of providing breakfast on the premises (and the option of other meals when required), of being close to the beach while still providing access to tourist attractions. We were pleased to have found this hotel: it was on the South coast (perhaps more authentic than the more upmarket West coast, which of course may suit others), and was within reasonable distance from both St Lawrence Gap and Oistins for Friday Fish Fry (both are walkable in about 30 minutes). Sun loungers were plentiful, with choices both around the pool and on the beach, with towels readily available. The pool is relatively shallow, and while the beach is very nice, the sea can be rough at times, therefore sometimes limiting swimming opportunities. This will be fine for many, as it was for us, but worth mentioning in case important for others. We could not fault the friendliness and attitude of all the staff, from Reception to Restaurant, and from Cleaning to Security. Yes, things may be a little slower when compared with what we might expect when we are at home, but we were prepared for this as we also wanted to experience a bit of ‘Caribbean Time’.

Paradise found
My hubby and I are still here and very sad to be leaving soon. The hotel has far exceeded our expectations, the room, the staff and the food… Calabash has been a highlight, having eaten at many of the local restaurants, I can honestly say that the food is up there with the best of them. Every time we dined we had a massive welcome from the staff who looked after us very well. The beach is the best in the area.. clean, unlittered and beautiful. We particularly liked that you can place your lounger anywhere and the wonderful water sports guys will put up your shade for you. No squashed up stack em and rack em here!! We will be one of the 40% returners for sure…. Best holiday we have had for a long time! Oh and thank you Bouganvillea for the balloons and fizz placed in our stunning room on arrival …. Very kind 😊
