Mar 23, 2025One weekend overnight at Montelimar
I came here to stay Saturday overnight. I stayed in one of the beach bungalows. The rooms were clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. The a/c was very loud but I brought my earplugs so that helped. The bungalows are very calm and relaxing. The show “extravaganza” was ok. The live band however was excellent. Good vibe for dancing afterward. My biggest issue with the place was the lunchtime. Too many people because there’s a lot of people that come just for day pass and the buffet lines are too long. Dinner and breakfast was much better because the day crowds were not there. Overall, I liked the place and I would come back. Next time, however, I will try to get the bungalows that are directly facing the water and I would try to stay during the week instead of the weekend. Bungalow #227 is facing the water.

The resort is beautiful, the swimming pool is great. Also the beach is superb. The employees of the hotel were very kind and helpful.

We were robbed, plain and simple. The room safe didn't work, we repeatedly reported it to housekeeping but nothing was done. We found several $20 bills were taken and replaced with singles. DO NOT STAY HERE. There is no place to keep your possessions secure.

The beach is nice. Period.
As a longtime and loyal Barceló client, I did't want to take others' negative comments seriously, but they were all true. Broken items not fixed, long lineups for mediocre food, indifferent service and missing amenities, incessant noise. We found one quiet spot, amid the wicker terrace furniture of the otherwise shuttered hilltop Casona restaurant building. Get to the breakfast buffet early, before hordes of day trippers arrive.
