February 11-18.-2025 Great weather, great staff, great food. Ease of communication with the help of my translator. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Only complaint at night or early morning too many babies crying that woke us up, and the room above us overflowed their hot tub which spilled onto our balcony. It was a very busy week of vacationers. Next time we will travel a month earlier.

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva two years ago and I know I can’t make a fair comparison with the Barcelo but I figured Barcelo Bávaro Palace wouldn’t be too bad based on reviews I read before booking this hotel, and I was trying to go with a certain budget. Although the property is beautiful and modern, most of the service at this hotel is terrible. The employees at the buffet are rude and they act like they don’t want to be bothered. Half the time we went there, and you will have to eat there at some point because you can only make four reservations at the other restaurants for a week stay, things were broken e.g. the ice machine, the ice cream machine, coffee machine, etc. You will also find that lots of tables are dirty and missing utensils so it leaves you at the mercy of the employees who as I mentioned before, don’t want to be bothered. Avoid the Coral (seafood restaurant) at all cost. That was probably the worst restaurant I’ve eaten at. Bad food, bad service. When you go make reservations for dinner they are going to try to make you book this restaurant. Go with something else. Kyoto was nice. Probably the only good restaurant in this resort. Additionally, this hotel has no activities whatsoever. They do have a small area by the pool where you get to play games, etc but as far as pool parties go, nothing like that. I found it pretty boring to be honest. In short, pay the extra money for the Hyatt and go there instead. Worth every penny. We wont be going back to Barcelo Bávaro Palace again.

The drinks don’t taste right, the food meh, the front desk is soooooo bad. The adult pool does not have chaises unless you book a cabana. Front desk hides in the back “taking to Mgr” for 15-20 min then comes out with sorry we are fully booked. The staff really does not care/ only the breakfast servers show any kind of service. . You tip for every drink - which is fine if it is the calibre of service deserving. The alcohol is watered down with something as they will pour 1/4 of a bottle of brand liquor into one drink and surprisingly still does not taste like the brand. Barcelo brand has really gone down - begins with management.

expansive, well kept grounds. many rooms were NOT conveniently located. had to take the train (tram) to get anywhere. service was sorely lacking, Food less than appetizing in general . Stay away from the Coral restaurant - worse food ever ! No food or snack service at the pool or beach. No hot tubs. excursions are far from the property. Would expect more from a resort with the Barcelo reputation.
