    Place Grows on You!

Ok, we have been to Mexican resorts for 16 of last 17 years. I have tried most of the adults only in Mayan. Let me give my take on this place: We arrived and check in person wasn’t very friendly. We had to resort to the buffet night one at sian Kaan and food was cold and it was very hot and humid inside. We were very fearful of how far we were from the beach, the room and bed were very mediocre. And that’s the end of the bad. Each day since this giant place grew on us. Shuttles to the beach were prompt and frequent. The grounds were immaculate (quite a feat for such a big place). We did a la carte each night and the food was among if not the best of any of the resorts we have been to. The Sian Kaan area of the beach was great. There is always something to do here as well. Staff have been amazing! The breakfast buffet at Akumal lobby is the best of all resorts. The bacon tasted like real bacon from home (it never does down here) . Finally, we saw the best quality entertainment we have ever seen at a resort last night. The All female mariachi band blew us away with their talent and the singer was great. Watching the Canada USA hockey game at the sports bar was outstanding fun! This resort has moved into our top 3 down here.

    We came back happy.

Overall a good resort. Lots of reasons to go back. The two best features: The gourmet food and the resort personel. There are always things one is disapointed with in all-inclusive resorts. We came back happy. I am trying to post this review but Trip Advisor is telling me I need more characters???? Trip Advisor needs ....

    Cool shady oasis

This resort is quiet, shady and uber relaxing. Multiple pools, one with activities, and a few quiet ones. We especially enjoyed water exercise and functional fitness class in the jungle gym with the adorable Katia. We also enjoyed the bike ride with handsome Juanito. We had trouble w online checkin and linking restaurant reservations for two rooms. But we met w Guest Services as soon as we checked in, and it worked out fine. we didn’t get exactly the restaurants that we were hoping to get but the ones we got were good. The Beach grill over at Akumal, Alux and the Asian one at Sian Kaan. two of our reservations for 830 which was a little late for us but we got dressed and went over a bit early and they let us in at 7:30 which worked out great. We walked over the highway on the cart path to aqua mall. It was a nice 25 minute walk having to take the carts to the beach isn’t ideal but we knew what it was going into it so I’m not complaining. It was actually nice to return to our quiet, shady resort at the end of the day. only thing we really missed by not being on the beach was being able to walk two minutes and see the sunrise. Beach over at Akumal was lovely. Plenty of shaded chairs, and Palapas. The drinks were good. We especially enjoyed enjoyed the infused water in the lobby’s. The signature cocktails did not appeal to us. We tried a few, and we didn’t think any of them tasted good just a matter of personal taste. Rooms are not fancy but definitely adequate. We were two friends traveling together and they only had king beds available but they brought in a super comfy rollaway bed which I slept on. It wasn’t the sort of room. We are going to spend a lot of time hanging out but the common areas are beautiful so it worked out fine. The employees were all super sweet, couldn’t do enough for you We really enjoyed this place and would definitely consider coming back.

    Best staff!

Seriously, I’ve been to many resorts in the Maya Riveria, the best staff is at Baha’i Príncipe! Forth time visiting the resort and will be back, again! Please tip staff well. I don’t have much more to add. Trying to fill the 200 character minimum.

A lovely, luxurious stay at a beautiful resort

Travelled as a couple in November, on arrival we were met with a welcome drink and put on a trolley to our room. As it was our honeymoon our room had been dressed to reflect this which was a nice touch. The room was large and well furnished with a fully stocked mini bar, coffee maker and things in the bathroom such as soap, shampoo and even toothbrushes and toothpaste. We had upgraded our room to one with a jacuzzi but they have little to no privacy from passers by so we rarely used it, if we stayed again I wouldn't pay the extra. If you download the Bahia app you can order room service as part of the all inclusive and request things on there such as a turndown service or to have dressing gowns delivered to the room. The pools were nice with a quiet option and a more lively option and the restaurant and buffet options were great, we ate at most across all resorts and really enjoyed the food and the service. The staff are incredible especially the entertainment staff, going to silent disco is a must! We headed to Hacienda to party one night and again another night for the fiesta. We also tried out the casino, which was a fun way to spend an hour. The only downsides for us was that sometimes it could take a while to get a trolley to get to the beach, other resorts and Hacienda but nothing too bad. It would be nice if there was a bar more in keeping with the luxury feel of the resort as all there are is a lobby bar which was often busy especially if the weather wasn't great or the 24 hour snack bar, which had little to no atmosphere. A nice bar with music and cocktails would suit this resort. Overall it was a lovely stay and we would definitely stay here or within this cluster of hotels again next time.
