  Hard to beat

  Well, where do I begin. This resort exceeded our expectations in every way possible. The staff were incredible, the shows were top notch, the quality and selection of food and restaurants you will never find anywhere else. We had access to 6 of the 7 resorts in the compound and there is so much to do that you can never get bored. We are a couple in our 40s and although the resort is not adults only, we always enjoyed ourselves. We did spend time at Ambar which is the adults only resort, but preferred the Esmeralda to stay at. The buffets are next level and they do so many different items to order, pasta to order, steaks to order, tacos to order…. Unreal. We have decided that this is the only resort we need. So many pools and so much beach space to choose from. And did I mention the staff were incredible… PS - we cannot understand how anyone could leave a bad review with this resort, makes absolutely no sense at all. Thanks Bahia Principe!

  March Family Trip

  My family and I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Esmeralda and overall it was a fantastic experience with a few minor things to improve upon. The check-in process was seamless and efficient and I was pleasantly surprised when my room upgrade request was granted without any hassle. The staff was extremely friendly throughout our stay and a special thanks to Juan who graciously offered a complimentary champagne and fruit plate as a courtesy after the sports bar was unable to locate the soccer game we wanted to watch. This thoughtful gesture was much appreciated. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The resort itself has great entertainment, with a variety of meal options at the many restaurants on the property or at one of many other adjoining and accessible properties. We made reservations in advance for dining selections and everything went smoothly. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staffs were welcoming. There are several bars across the resort offering a diverse selection of beverages. The beach is absolutely beautiful—fantastic for relaxing, swimming or just enjoying the sunshine. However, there was a bit of disorganization when it came to the beach area as guests would drape towels across multiple chairs to reserve spots, which took away from the overall experience. It would be great if the resort would implement and guest would adhere to a no reserve policy. Also, a grill day or a local dining selection at the beach would enhance the enjoyment. Our son enjoyed the daily beach volleyball games where he was able to form friendships with several of the other teenager guests. One thing that stood out, however, was the noisy mornings due to the cleaning staff, especially near where supplies were stored. The sound of individuals speaking and equipment being moved around early in the morning was a bit disruptive. Additionally, the pathway between the ground end suites needs to have some form of deterrent to prevent people from walking through, damaging the surrounding vegetation and imposing on others privacy. Another small issue was the lack of clear information about transfer pick-up times from the hotel since the bus pick-up location is at a different resort. It would be helpful to provide more specific details to avoid confusion. Despite these minor points, the overall experience was enjoyable. Bahia Principe Esmeralda is a smaller property but offers a great stay with excellent food, friendly staff, tranquil room and a beautiful beach. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway and we look forward to visiting again soon.

  Excellent stay, will come again!

  We stayed at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana last year and the Esmerelda was a big step up. Excellent service, the beach and facilities were clean. Less people than the cheaper hotel next door. Rooms were fantastic. If something wasn't right, the staff took care of it right away. I have been to Punta Cana many times, this was one of the better experiences. Food was better as well. The only thing that still lingers is the non-english speaking staff and the constant barage of sellers from the beach. Just ignore them. The one big negative I have been noticing year after year in every resort is the cost of items. They scam you to mark it up very high for no reason. Bring your own lotions, soap, necessities. Do not buy them from the resorts or you will be paying high US dollar prices.

  Exceptional !!

  We highly recommend the Bahia Principe Esmeralda ! The staff were fantastic and so accommodating! The main Buffet was excellent! The entertainment staff were amazing!!! The pool and Sports bar bartenders were exceptional ! There is not one bad thing to say about it . We will definitely be back 💕

  Beautiful, clean, happy resort, with fantastic food

  My family (two adults, two kids) stayed at the Bahia Prinicipe Luxury Esmeralda for one week and it was an excellent vacation. I'm always impressed with Bahia Principe resorts (this is our fourth one), but this one might be the best one yet. Firstly, this is the cleanest resort we've ever stayed at- it's immaculate! The rooms are upgraded and beautiful, the pool is clean and not freezing, the food was fantastic (buffet and a la cartes), and the beach (most important part of the vacation for me) is PERFECT. One thing that really stood out to us was how happy all the employees were- and that happiness seem to spread through the whole resort.
