Girls trip
Beautiful resort with friendly staff and services. All inclusive offerings were enjoyable. Pool and beach area had plenty of loungers available. Good entertainment options. Shuttle service at resort is awesome to use to get from lobby to your building, to La Hacienda, or to Coba. It's a HOT climate with wonderful breeze from Caribbean Sea. Spa service though not included in all inclusive was outstanding. The Mayan experience massage was great! Guests services and front desk very helpful. The Tequila restaurant is the best!!

Great Hotel Poor beach!
Love the property! it's well maintained and beautiful grounds. Pool closing hours should be longer then 6PM. If you want a beach vacation, then this is not the place. Too many rocks and mountain of seaweed. I was looking for a relaxing snorkeling dive, but I couldn't even get my feet in the water. I hear there is a sectioned off to subdue the harsh waves for folks to swim but found to be a myth as I couldn't find it. Buffet restaurant was great...the Alacarte not so much. We tired the Thali Indian restaurant (too much spice and salty to taste anything else). Mikado was ok...food is good show was just alright. Nightly entertainment shows could use some work. Overall, the place was great but the having no beach broke the deal as that's my highlight of my vacation. So, I may not return for that reason.

Good time, huge resort
the place is huge. We did a lot of walking as we were in building 40 and it was a good walk to get to anything other then the small pool behind our building. The resort does offer trollies, but you have to wait sometimes for one to come along. The buffet was what my wife would say "slightly above average". There was lots to choose from and most of was ok. We did 2 specialty restaurants. The Brazilian and the Mexican. Both were very good and we would recommend them. They were always lots of places to get burgers or snacks and the wait was never too bad for that and for the most part they were tasty. Drinks were always good, not too long of a wait most times at the bars. They also have self serve pop, slushy, coffee and beer throughout. So that makes it a little easier if you just want any of those. Rooms are nice, but no privacy as the bathroom and shower are part of the room. The shower has frosted glass, but there is still no privacy. The toilet has it's own room with a see through mirror door. We were not a huge fan of that as you could still see through it when someone was in there. The pools are all great and there was always something going on at the main pool. The entertainment team were great. The beach..........well it was red flagged every day for our stay so I cannot say too much about it. the waves were rough and it was windy. there were a couple nice places to go in, but for the most part we could not enjoy it the wat we wanted to, this is not the hotels fault. As for the staff, we had no issues with anyone. They were all friendly and answered any questions we had. Our room was always cleaned in a timely matter and when we did use the trollies the drivers was always happy to assist. While we would not go back, only because we have been to this area twice now, I would recommend Bahia in Mexico. If I we were to do it again though I think we would book Akumal as I have heard the ocean is much calmer there as they are more in a bay or cove type area and the resort does nto seem to be quite as big.

DO NOT STAY HERE
DO NOT STAY HERE – HORRIBLE SERVICE, DISGUSTING ROOMS, AND A SCAM TRANSPORTATION SERVICE! Our stay at Bahia Principe Tulum was one of the worst travel experiences we have ever had. From the disgusting conditions of the rooms to the absolute lack of customer service, this resort is far from the “luxury experience” they claim to offer. First, let’s talk about the scam transportation service they push on their guests. We booked a private transfer through the hotel, expecting reliability. Instead, we were left stranded at the Cancun airport for over an hour in the heat because no one showed up. When we asked the hotel for help, they washed their hands of it, claiming the transportation company was separate from them—yet they are the ones who book it! Then, on our departure day, our transfer never arrived at 3 AM, leaving us stranded once again. The hotel couldn’t even reach the company themselves, and at one point, the front desk staff literally walked away and left us standing there alone. We were forced to scramble for a last-minute taxi to make our flight. Absolutely unacceptable. Now onto the hotel itself—it is nowhere near a 5-star experience. • Rooms: The showers have black mold in the cracks, making them disgusting and unsanitary. Our air conditioner broke three times during our stay, and each night, we had to wait for maintenance to come fix it. The room was miserably hot, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. • Food & Restaurants: The buffet food is average at best, but you cannot take food to-go. The steak at their “fine dining” restaurant was completely inedible, and I’d rate their restaurants two stars at best—certainly not the five-star experience they market. • Service: There is zero poolside service. If you expect to be waited on, have drinks brought to you, or experience anything remotely resembling a luxury vacation, this is NOT the place for you. They do not offer room service, and overall, the customer service is terrible. If you’re looking for a stress-free, luxurious vacation where you actually feel taken care of, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. It is a total disappointment, and we will never return.

Great family vacation destination!
Great family vacation. Amazing kid’s club. Great variety of food and drinks. Superb gourmet restaurants. We could not get into the Brazilian, but the Spanish, French and Mexican restaurants were superb. The evening entertainment was fun too.
