Decent Hotel
I stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe in December 2024 and I had a pleasant experience. Overall, I liked the food. It surpassed the quality of other hotels in the same class, such as RIU Ocho Rios. The variety and taste, particularly at the Jerk Centre and the Pasta Station in the main buffet lounge, stand out. The swim-up bar was another highlight. My room was spacious, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The view from the room’s balcony definitely adds points to this review. The beach, while nice, was slightly underwhelming compared to other hotel beaches in Jamaica. The entertainment started off a bit lackluster but did improve as the days went on. The hotel is enormous, so be prepared for a lot of walking. Fortunately, there’s a golf buggy service that helps guests move around the perimeter if needed. My overall experience was that this is a decent hotel. 7/10.

Bad staff and rude but amazing location with the best Brazilian restaurant
From the moment we get to the hotel amazing friendly welcome, we get to our room luxurious side , room very clean, good size large, bathroom large and amazing view balcony. Reception very nice people friendly, about bar in lobby busy but if you don’t tips people they totally ignored us, and very unfriendly, the same things happen on the on few of the restaurants, but the best restaurant was Brazilian where we meet amazing staff they done everything you to get the amazing experience. Thank you to Chrystal and her hospitality. Overall we been amazing experience in Jamaica but not the best , definitely I will think before to go again to Jamaica. I m part privileged club and I been in all Bahia and I get all the time amazing experience and make me to go back but in Jamaica but not the best experience and staff very rude. Most of the restaurants where we been the food was not so great and the staff very unprofessional, long waiting, or un tested food. Resort location amazing but staff need some help to know how to serve with the costumer’s and not just if they get tipsy.

Not Worth the price
If you or your child has allergies, do not stay here. We went through the process of reporting my younger brother's allergies to the front desk and even received an allergy card. Regardless, twice his allergies were not taken seriously and he had 2 reactions and had to administer an epipen. We specifically said he has egg, seafood and nut allergies and once he was served pasta with egg and the second time was pure negligence by one of the restaurant personnel. My brother could have died being that he has life threatening allergies but despite reporting these instances to the hotel all they say is we cannot guarantee cross contact. Its a modern time where allergies are not uncommon anymore and it is truly sad that this hotel does not take them seriously nor seem to care about the well being of their guests. Also, I should point out that if you are not caucasian you should not stay here. The workers in the hotel believe that only white people tip so they go above and beyond to provide great service only to caucasians and not people of color. I was happy to give out $5,10 even 20 to any workers who provided us good service but unfortunately we did not have that chance. Such a shame, because its such a nice resort otherwise but these things are disgusting and unattractive of a resort. We will not be returning.

A true Cuban resort in Jamaica!
This hotel is literally worse then most hotels in Cuba. They run out of food at the jerk hut by 1pm lol... Oh u like Towels in Ur room? Forget about those! Food is bad in general and that's new to me in jamaica. Everytime someone complained the joke was "This ain't the Royalton" I would never ever, couldn't pay me to go back here. One of my friends caught something nasty on their eye the doctor said it was from the pool. This was vacation was one for the books. Not a good book tho. Air Transat made this week in hell possible. Lol

Amazing resort for a family trip !!
This was our first trip to jamaica and myself and my entire family had an amazing time at the bahia principe grand resort (we stayed there for almost a week). 1) Room : Amazing ocean view (we were on the highest floor) , comfy bed , big balcony .Room was a little outdated but it was functional and comfy for our family. 2) Staff : Each and every staff member(from all different departments) at bahia was very courteous and was always happy to help . They really made us feel special . Special thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Donnette from housekeeping , Brit from entertainment , Kevin from mikado -teppanyaki and Aretha and tasheka from the spa. Each one of you is a rockstar and its people like you who make the resort truly amazing :) 3) Food : Lots of choices in buffets and the food was delicious too . Also would highly recommend don pablo , dolce vita and mikado teppanyaki (ala carte restaurants) .Also, the servers in the buffet and ala carte restaurants are phenomenal . They will take very good care of you :) 4) Entertainment : Each and every day was full of entertainment (for both kids and adults) .We loved the magic show, kids foam party ,xaymaca , titanium show ,beach party and the fire show on the beach. All of the entertainment shows were very well organized and coordinated. 5) Cleanliness and maintenance : The entire resort was clean and maintenance is also top notch .Kudos to the staff for maintaining it so nicely . 6) Pool and beach area: Very well maintained and clean. Pool bars were also amazing. Small suggestions for improvement: 1) Get the staff elevators fixed in building 23 (where we stayed), it was very inconvenient for both staff and the guests to use just one elevator. Also, there was no fan in the elevator which made it a bit uncomfy (especially if it was full). 2) Need to renovate the rooms . I know bahia has already done the renovations in 2 buildings and more will be done in the future .But once its done it will definitely elevate the whole guest experience . Overall we had a great experience at this resort . Will highly recommend it to all travellers that are travelling to jamaica for the first time :) Thank you to the entire team at bahia principe grand . You guys rock !!! Cheers , Vishal and Nupur
