Beautiful hillside resort with a fantastic view of the volcano. Each room has a private hot tub in the room. There are very nice hot springs on site and you have complimentary access to another set of hot springs (larger and warmer) just down the road. The food at the restaurants is good and reasonably priced for the portions. The guaro sour is amazing!! And don't skip the spa. The chocolate massage is absolutely incredible! Also, the air conditioning in the rooms is great.

a pleasant stay
only criticism would be that lighting in bedrooms is very subdued and its difficult to read anything except under the bedside lights - otherwise room was great , we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching birds and monkeys and obviously the volcano - pool was fine, breakfast good and evening meals very good - staff pleasant and helpful - walk down the hill to the main road and there is a useful mini market and a restaurant although that closes at 5pm

Great place to stay at La Fortuna!
We really liked this resort. Not sure the bad reviews are fair. The rooms are nice and big for families. The hot tub was a big hit, just remember to turn it off at night, because it is loud. I saw no sign of mold, as another review mentioned. I only have three recommendations. 1. Go to Titoku, the off site hot springs. The springs are much warmer than the ones on site. We enjoyed it! 2. Eat somewhere else for dinner, the restaurant wasn’t great. But the breakfast was fabulous with lots of options. 3. Recommendation for the resort owner: update your showers. Needs new grout and the shower head and spigot could use some maintenance. I highly recommend this resort. You can’t beat the view of the volcano and the grounds are very well kept.

Everything was great!
What a gorgeous property! Our room with a jacuzzi was spacious and bright. We loved the balcony with the view of the volcano and gardens. Waking up to the sound of bird calls and howler monkeys was a treat. The breakfast buffet was really fantastic.. unlike any other we've ever had. Our preferred dinner was the poolside restaurant where we could share. The hot spring pools on the property were great and practically private. The shuttle to the off-site hot springs was also a really great experience. I had a volcanic clay massage at the spa and it was so luxurious. I highly recommend this property and plan on staying for multiple nights!

AMAZING
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Immaculately clean, beautiful surroundings, spacious rooms, awesome amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect in every way. The restaurant was delicious. We were catered to like royalty! I would recommend a million times over. We will be back for sure!
