    Love The Andaz

Second stay at the Andaz, this time for our Daughter's wedding. They absolutely knocked the event out of the park. Rebecka our Event Planner was wonderful. The grounds were perfect and our villas were outstanding. We can't recommend the Andaz enough, for a special event, or simply for a great beach vacation.

    Lovely resort

Just came back from our anniversary trip to Maui. This is our first time to Hawaii without the kids and let me tell you, it was SO relaxing. 😅 I redeemed 145,000 Hyatt points for a standard king at Andaz Maui. It’s been a bucket list to check out this resort bc I read it’s more adult focused. However, there were plenty of families there. Being Globalist, we were automatically upgraded to an ocean view suite the morning of arrival, it was very spacious. The extra half bath was very useful! You can also skip housekeeping and receive a daily 1,000 Hyatt points or $15 food and beverage credit. We opted for the points so I received 4,000 Hyatt points refunded to my account after checkout. We were in room 552, south side of the resort. Our room still had sand on the floor, near the side table, but no big deal. The shower had good pressure BUT it would switch to super cold or super hot during a shower. Not sure if it’s connected with other ppl using water, etc. The design is also a little odd, it’s very wide and the placement of the showerhead makes it feel very tight. The lack of complimentary drinks (2 cans) and snacks were a little disappointing compared to Andaz Seoul. I also wish they had a bidet inside the extra half bath. Daily breakfast buffet was completely comped, it saved us $121 every morning. Selection was plentiful, I am missing my daily green juice and Maui Gold pineapples. 😢 Nic was our server for the first two mornings and he was very personable. Valet parking was also waived, saved us $40 daily. Even though we always called ahead, we still had to wait a while for our car. Valet guys were very nice and friendly regardless. Resort fees also waived on award redemption, saved us $50 daily. We didn’t participate in any hotel activities, but there are plenty of things to do. We were surprised to see so many families at the resort. I always thought Andaz was geared towards adults more.. We enjoyed the peace and quiet in the adult only pool during the day. We watched the sunset a couple times in the main infinity pools, it very was lovely. We would definitely return.

Great location, food, views, and mostly great staff

My husband and I experienced a good time at the Andaz Maui because of the location and great food at the resort, especially at the Ka'Ana! Some pros and cons: PROS: Front Desk: Special shout outs to the amazing Kai and Jeremy for going over and beyond always, for their friendliness and hospitality. They definitely exuded the Hawaiian spirit of Ohana! Ka'ana Kitchen: breakfast and dinner were amazing with bountiful local fresh farm to table food! We particularly enjoyed the local fruits such as papaya, pineapple, vegetables and fresh catch entrees at dinner. Special shoutouts to Kailana ("Wawa") who always happily greeted us regardless of time of the day, and gave us many tips for the island. Thank you also to Jenny, Elijah and Nic who always went over and beyond. Activities and Valet: everyone was extraordinary! They were friendly, welcoming and helpful! CONS: My overall experience at the Andaz Maui would have been excellent, EXCEPT for the unwelcoming reception we experienced from a front office staff member named Gabby at checkin. On another occasion, I informed Gabby that the Sustainability Credit of $15 (for declining housekeeping) was not applied to our room for 2 separate days, and explained that we had placed the green placard AND "Do Not Disturb" sign for the duration of our stay. Instead of being helpful, Gabby informed that we would have to wait until the day we check-out so the front desk can call Housekeeping to verify that our rooms were not serviced on those days. We were appalled at her antagonistic behavior and assumption of distrust, which was an incredible disappointment to us, particularly at a highly reputable resort such as the Andaz Maui. The Sustainability Credit should not be offered to guests, if employees like Gabby take it upon themselves to police the customers. Clients to this resort pay an exuberant amount to experience rest, relaxation and PEACE on vacation, not to banter over $30 sustainability credit with an inhospitable employee. Gabby is the only reason I did not rate "5" stars for this resort.

Falls short on value, but still a quality resort.

I’ve been to this Andaz several times since the day they opened. It was once $300/night and a great resort for the money. Today, it’s $1,000+ for the least expensive room and SIGNIFICANTLY over priced. It’s a nice resort, there is nothing to complain about other than the Valet parking situation, which is a mess. The rooms are clean, views are great, but you’ll want to get something on the 5-7 floors with an ocean view. Rooms are small for this price point. At 1k/night rooms tend to be much larger. Location is great, I’d highly recommend Wailea area. You can walk to The Shops at Wailea in 10 mins. Pros: Great location and views Great lobby Nice shower A lot of pools Cons: Valet Parking. Expensive and you’ll wait 20 mins to get your car and 10 mins to drop it off. Resort is tired and dated. The TV’s in the room are old and low quality. Mattresses are ready for an updated, Rooms are on the smaller side for this price point. Some of the rooms that start at $1,000+ have no view, and are dark. Thats a lot to pay for a smaller, tired room, thats dark with no views. The Breakfast buffet is decent, but at $49 should be better. The pools are nice, but the plaster has chipped off all over them and they need to be replastered. If this hotel was $500/night I would give it 4 stars. $300/night I’d give it 5 stars. But at $1,000 / night plus it’s generous to give it 3 stars. Service, food, and quality are nowhere near a 1k+ hotel. Just for reference, I’m a Hyatt Globalist and have stayed at a majority of the top hotels in the world. I would value this hotel, it’s food, service and amenities at about $600/night maximum, and that is largely because of it’s wonderful location in a premium resort town, Wailea.

    A slice of heaven

We came to Andaz to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel was beautiful. The food was fantastic and the staff was very helpful and attentive. The beach is gorgeous! I would definitely go back to this resort.
