Special spot in paradise
Andaz Maui is a special hotel, and they strike the right balance between luxury and relaxed vibe. It’s gorgeous without being stuffy (like in our opinion the neighboring Four Seasons…). The breakfast buffet is really good and direct beach access to fantastic snorkeling set this place apart. We stayed 6 nights this year, 6 nights last, and will keep coming back. That said, this is solidly a 4.5* hotel, not 5. The service is friendly and good but just not up to par with 5 star resorts where valet is helpful, front desk is always inviting/friendly, housekeeping is thorough. It is all fine and good but that’s just not what you’re going to get if you’re used to and expect 5 star pampering and perfection. They might get your breakfast order wrong, forget to throw out some cups in your room and place your items with odd judgment, the bird poop might be left on your lanai, valet might be frustratingly slow/a bit clueless etc. These are all minor annoyances at the end of the day, and we will come back many times in then future. The only serious criticism I have is the beach activities area. Keanu was so friendly and was an incredible guide for stand up paddle boarding. Some of these other guys are just hanging out and seem like they could care less. I know these are free activities but this is still a top tier resort, when a great guide can make all the difference between an amazing time and a waste of time. Need more folks like Keanu. Shoutout to Wonmi at the front desk for going above and beyond in taking care of us! Breakfast service at Ka’ana was also always an delight and made every morning feel special!

Great resort for families with teens
Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, great food, great beach, plentiful activities. Used suite upgrade and was upgraded to beautiful 3 bed 3 bath villa.

Awesome
It's rare nowadays that an establishment gives the level of customer service that I experienced at Andaz. When staying in Maui, there's only one place I will stay and that is the Andaz.

Honest Opinion …Not Worth the Price
I had higher expectations for this hotel, especially considering the prices, but overall the experience did not feel worth the money. The food was disappointing and extremely expensive for the quality offered. The New Year’s Eve dinner cost $2,000, yet the dishes were dry and not particularly tasty. The dessert, made with gelatin, was especially underwhelming. Nothing about the meal justified the price. What disappointed me the most was the beach experience. Having to use a towel on the sand… felt unreasonable, and the hotel was clearly not prepared for the number of guests. There were not enough beach chairs available, which made it frustrating and uncomfortable. For a hotel positioned at this price level, I expected better organization, better food, and more attention to guest comfort. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

Andaz stay as globalist.
Location & Vibe: This remains my favorite stay in Wailea. The location is perfect, situated near the Shops at Wailea and neighboring luxury heavyweights like the Waldorf, Fairmont, and Four Seasons. The Arrival: The view from the open-air lobby is still spectacular. Walking in and seeing the infinity pools frame the ocean is unmatched. The Globalist Experience (Anniversary Trip): I returned specifically for my anniversary. While the stay was beautiful, the administrative side was rocky. Check-In Timing: Do not expect to get in early here. We had to wait until 4:30 PM for our room. The "Phantom" Upgrade (Important Tip!): I saw a Suite assigned in my app, but while waiting, it refreshed and downgraded me to an Ocean View King. My Advice: Take a screenshot immediately if you see an upgrade. Because I noticed the switch, the staff addressed it and offered compensation. Room Condition & Bathroom: This is where the property is showing its age. Cleanliness vs. Function: The bathroom was clean, but the plumbing was frustrating. Both the basin and shower drained very slowly—it felt like a chronic issue rather than a one-time clog. Hardware: The hair dryer was too weak. For a high-end luxury resort, this amenity desperately needs an upgrade. Dining: Globalist Perks: We received 15% off at restaurants. The Breakfast: The buffet at Ka'ana Kitchen is excellent with an omelet station, BUT I was told specialty drinks (Americano/Latte) are NOT included in the Globalist benefit. This feels like a new, unfortunate change. Verdict: Andaz Maui is still beautiful, but between the upgrade glitches, slow drains, and nickel-and-diming on coffee, the "luxury" feel is slipping just a bit.
