Paper thin walls
If you want to hear every conversation of your neighbors clearly, these rooms are perfect for this. Beds are firm and comfortable. Check in is very slow. Damp smelling reusable plastic cups for welcome drink at reception and plastic martini cups were a turnoff. Food options repetitive, limited seats at speciality restaurant. Hibachi food is average, more for entertainment. Dive shop has no gear for sale, come with everything you need. Our last stay was at Occidental. This is lower end so abit disappointed with overall experience. Sink tap mounted so close to side you can barely wash your hands. Spa and gym has no ambiance, small dark feel so didn’t use. Beach is small but sufficient. Went there mainly to dive, otherwise would choose elsewhere next time.

Activities and overall experience
Activities are wonderful and inclusive. Angel does a great job of organizing and hosting all activities!! Wonderful resort, here for the 4th time. Allegro is the best for food and drinks, mango Mageritaa with tajin is soo good. You can’t beat it for a beach drink!

Impossible to get your refund
In October 2024, we took a family vacation to Allegro Cozumel. Upon check-in we were informed that our trip had not been funded by Priceline. Therefore, we had to put our credit card on file. We were told that we would be able to reach out to Priceline and have them fund the trip before they would charge the credit card. I immediately got a hold of Priceline to make things right, and a few days later I was able to confirm with Allegro staff that the issue had been resolved. The day of check out, the same staff member came to our room to tell us that only one of our two rooms had been funded by Priceline. Therefore, we needed to pay for the other room prior to check out, and they would wait a few days before processing our credit card payment. Our credit card was processed on October 31st for $1050 by Allegro Cozumel. After much back and forth with Priceline (not a company I will do business with again), they were finally able to make contact with Allegro Cozumel reservation department who accepted payment for our second room. They made the payment on November 6th. Multiple frustrating phone calls to Priceline and them finally getting a hold of someone at Allegro Cozumel again, it was determined that Allegro had received double payment (us on October 31st and Priceline on November 6th). On December 8th, that Allegro Cozumel would be making a refund in the amount of $1050 to our credit card within 7 days. Now here we are on December 30th, with zero refund from Allegro Cozumel, multiple phone calls to the reservation department where no one answers (now I know why Priceline had trouble resolving the issue), and interest racking up on the credit card bill for the charge. This morning, I did get a hold of someone who seems to have no idea what I’m talking about, and has to do further research. After 55 minutes on the phone, they hang up on me. When I call back, I was told that they would send me an answer by mail which I said was not acceptable since someone was researching while I waited and then hung up on me. The caller told me that they had to research the issue. When I told them I needed an answer today, I was told they had all the information, but were waiting on a status. Nothing but lies. It’s ridiculous that 2 months after our vacation I can’t get a resolution to a double payment. I would not recommend Priceline or Allegro Cozumel at this point due to the frustrations of having a paid vacation funded and hours of my life spent on unresolved phone calls. Vacation should not be this stressful.

Very enjoyable vacation
The beach is great, always plenty of chairs. The resort is a bit dated but the service was excellent and the food was very good. Much better that expected after reading a lot of reviews.
