Paradise Island Overview

  • ""

All In at Atlantis Paradise Island

Live it up in the lap of luxury with delicious food, great shopping, exciting activities and a casino just waiting to cater to your every whim. This humongous resort is definitely a vacationer’s paradise. Exploring its waterpark and marine habitats alone could take an entire day. Then at night, you can test Lady Luck at the casinos or just strap on your heels for a night on the town. Even if you aren’t a guest of the resort, you can still purchase day passes, so you can get a little taste of the action without spending all your dough.

Martinis Shaken not Stirred at Café Martinique

Do you like your vodka martinis shaken or stirred? Now you can play James Bond at this elegant and upscale French restaurant. It’s an exact recreation of the real Café Martinique in France, made famous by its appearance in the 1965 James Bond film "Thunderball.” Sneak a quick pic of you posing next to its iron birdcage elevator or slinking up its grand mahogany staircase. You’ll be the envy of all your friends!  Then make sure to order the fancy cheeseburger made of filet steak and truffled mayonnaise – it’s what all secret agents eat!

  • ""

    More than a Marina

Shopaholics, head straight here. There’s no better place to start spending your hard-won casino money than at Marina Village. For starters, you can choose from several high-end labels, including Versace Jeans Couture and a Dooney and Bourke shop. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, the Marina also boasts Solomon’s Sea Treasures and a John Bull gallery where you can find sparkling jewelry, perfume, cologne and other treasures to take home. If you don’t really have money to burn, just stroll along the dock, admire the yachts and grab a bite to eat at one of several delicious restaurants.

    Sunset at the Cloister

Strap on your camera and stroll amidst the majestic remains of a 14thcentury French Monastery. This beautiful piece of architecture was brought over from France to the United States, stone by stone, in the 1920s. Now, the remains sit on the top of a hill on Paradise Island.

Walk through the stone columns and pose for great pictures while overlooking Nassau Harbor, or take a romantic stroll at sunset as the warm yellow light turns this old French Monastery into a glowing scene, just like something out of a movie. This is one of the most popular places to watch the sunset after all.

Also, this lovely landmark is a popular site to say “I do" if that's something you've been planning. If marriage isn’t in your cards, this is still the perfect place to enjoy the memory of a Bahamian sunset.

Rub Elbows with the Rich at Bimini Road

If you've ever secretly dreamed of owning a yacht, donning a polo shirt and going sailing every weekend, now's your chance to feel like one of the rich. Simply head to Bimini Road. It's a little bar, and a big favorite amongst yacht owners who tie up at the nearby marina. You'll get a taste of what it's like to mingle with the more-fortuned. Plus, a costumed dance troupe performs several times a week and live bands play here too, so even if it's painfully obvious that you don't fit in, you'll still have a great time.

Get your Grub on at Green Parrot

If you're not the daring type when it comes to food or are just craving a taste of home, then don't worry. The Caribbean knows how to do American cuisine just fine. Head to the Green Parrot and order the “Works Burger,” a mile-high whopper with American and Swiss cheese melting on top of grilled onions and mushrooms. While your munching down, you'll love the views of a sparkling green pool and the open, ocean air all around you. If you’d prefer more local fare, get the cracked conch po-boy instead. Everything here is delish!

    Immigration & Customs

All immigration forms are usually supplied by the airlines. When entering the Bahamas, visitors must complete and sign an immigration form. A portion of this card (returned to you by the immigration official clearing you for entrance) is required to exit the Bahamas. Nassau Paradise Island is one of the few Caribbean destinations that provides pre-clearance for U.S. Customs and Immigration services, allowing flights from Nassau Paradise Island to enter the United States as domestic flights and bypass the normal U.S. Customs and Immigration clearance encountered on most returns from an international destination.

    Getting to Your Hotel

CheapCaribbean.com has partnered with Majestic Tours as our premier transportation company on Paradise Island. They’ll provide you with safe, comfortable and professional transportation from the airport to your hotel and back. They’ll also provide transportation to any excursions booked through our site that you’d like to take while you’re in your destination.

It’s easy to find your Majestic Tours team when you arrive at the airport. They’ll be standing in the ground transportation waiting area, holding a CheapCaribbean welcome sign. All drivers are fluent in English, friendly and knowledgeable about the culture, history and things to do while you’re there. By the end of your ride, you’ll have made a new friend. Vehicles are all clean, modern and reliable.

Majestic Tours is also the official transportation rep for CheapCaribbean.com excursions when you book vacations to Paradise Island on our site. The majority of our partner hotels have a Majestic Tours desk in or near the lobby, so they’re easy to find should you need them. For this reason, we suggest that our guests do not rent cars while in the Caribbean or Mexico as traffic laws and road quality and street signs are not the same as they are in the US.
