  Awful

  Beware of this place! IT IS NOT A 5 STAR RESORT! These are like motel rooms at Myrtle Beach and nothing else. Also, did not feel safe here at all. Food is awful to boot! Bars are crowded and to get service sometimes. There are vendors on every square inch of beach trying to sell you something! I will never go back to the DR!!!!!!!!!

  2 weeks in the Hidaway (adult only)

  The property boasts a beautiful location and grounds. However, guest rooms are basic, though clean. While staff are friendly, their helpfulness is inconsistent. A significant concern was the limited restaurant access. Without Diamond Club membership, reservations in other restaurants were unavailable. Although the buffet offered palatable food, the hotel's advertised culinary diversity was inaccessible. Furthermore, the hotel's occupancy during American Spring Break resulted in significant early-morning noise disturbances from teenagers.

  A Mostly Positive Experience

  We stayed here for two weeks. The rooms were a bit small and needed more dresser drawer space for clothing. We were in building 2 on the top floor and faced the pool. It was too hot to sit on the balcony after 3pm because of the heat. The temperature in our room was also quite warm, even with the A/C. We had to keep the blackout drapes closed to keep the heat down. The concierge were really pushy in trying to get us to attend a session on the Royalton Loyalty program. We were not interested. Don’t get sucked in. There were many restaurants that required reservations. You have to go on the app the day before to book your reservation. Sometimes it was difficult to get a reservation until 8pm or 9pm, although many times the restaurants had lots of empty tables. The food was good at most restaurants. Our favourite restaurant was by far was the Dorado. We would like to recognize Carolina who greeted us warmly and with a lovely smile each day. Our waiters Baron, Fabian, and Jose Luis were all wonderful. A special recognition for Baron who was always pleasant, efficient, and looked after the little things. He should be a manager. A shout out to JP Paper and Pokémon for keeping us entertained by the pool. Thanks to Denni for keeping our drink glasses full, and to Wilson for the clean towels and fruit kabobs every morning. The beach was lovely but there were very few chairs and palapas in the Hideaway section. The Hideaway pool was much too small for the number of guests. For a couple of days, the water in the pool was cloudy. Other guests and ourselves made a complaint and there were staff cleaning the it the next day.

  Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana ... superb vacation once again !

  My last trip at the Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana was from January 23 to January 30, 2025. Once again, it was a memorable vacation, it was really worth it. The beach, even if the section near the Hideaway is prompt for sea erosion, is fabulous. I went at the Diamond club section of the Royalton which was extraordinary and the beach was beautiful there. As soon as I arrived I was taken care of by an extraordinary employee, Mr. Victor Lopez, who accompanied me throughout my week and who was attentive to all my requests. Thanks Victor! All the staff at the resort are kind and helpful, especially Jean Carlos and Remigio at the beach of the Diamond club Royalton, an absolutely extraordinary service from them. At the bar of the hideaway pool, Mr. Ozuna is excellent ! What a surprise that the next day, seeing me in a distance, he had already prepared my favorite drink !! Wow! Francesco, at the Royalton Diamond Club beach bar, was incredible also! The restaurants are excellent, my favorite : The Hunter, it is the steakhouse and we are entitled to real filet mignon in an enchanting setting ! The main buffet is excellent also and the breakfast at the restaurant by the beach was also very good. The entertainment is omnipresent throughout the day, good shows in the evening. The rooms are nice, maybe a little small compared to the Majestic near by, but renovated and they are up to date. The pool in the Hideaway section is a little small for the number of people, but I am a beach fan and you can walk for miles in both directions!   Hideaway at Punta Cana, great drinks, but better food needed. Fun Time.

  The Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana was a fun time. I would stay at the Hideaway adults side of the resort as it is adults only, you get top shelf alcohol all day at the reception area bar, you have a private pool and private restaurant, the Dorado, right on the beach. The nightlife was ok as the Madonna show was great but Michael Jackson was just so so. The food could be a lot better. The main buffet, the Promenade, was always pretty good and you could always get in. One evening they were grilling lobsters. The lights went out on us twice at the Under the Sea restaurant so we left without eating there but the menu was not good. The Hunter steakhouse was very good and the steak was delicious. The Thai restaurant was decent but overall, the food should have been much better. Drinks at the Hideaway bar were great. Really good ice drinks and pina coladas. The staff is very accommodating and most all of them spoke English. Rooms were clean and restocked with water and soda daily. Air condition only works when you are in the room. It was musty a little in the hallways but not bad. The sewer smell when traveling between the Splash resort and the Royalton was awful but you don't smell it at all when at the main resort or pools or rooms. My wife and I really enjoyed it here. Tipping helps a lot and they appreciate it. The app to book the specialty restaurants does not work. They say if you upgrade to the Butler service you can get in but I would not upgrade. You don't need a butler. Go to the customer service center in the main check in and they can help you get into a restaurant. I would go back here but they need to up the game on the food quality. You won't go hungry but the main buffet gets a little old but is fine for breakfast. Drinks at Hideaway were ideal with all the top brands and they are not watered down.
