Can I give it negative stars?
Just returned from this horrible hotel. We went to Aruba for a wedding and it was at the Riu Aruba. We have visited Aruba about 15 times or More and stayed in various hotels there. Ritz Carlton, Hyatt and Hilton our favorites. The Riu has to be the worst hotel that we have ever stayed in. The food is horrible. The “specialty” restaurants are a JOKE. You cant get in and there are so many tables open. The buffet is so crowded and the food tastes terrible. Our room was in a wing on the 8th floor, well the elevator was out of order the entire time and we had to take the service elevator. It was gross and very inconvenient. By the way they tell you nothing about it. Service is non existent in this place. You need to get up at 5am every morning to get beach chairs. Another Joke. I really could go on and on with all the negatives. This place is falling apart, no one cares about you or your vacation. RUN don’t walk away from this place….spend your money somewhere else.

So so loud at night
I cannot believe this resort advertises itself as “family friendly.” While i love that all rooms face the pool / ocean, there is LOUD entertainment that begins around 730 pm and goes until after 10pm. This is insane. There is no option for any way to block this noise. The hotel is nice but dates, the pool is lovely and so far what we’ve had of the buffet has been great, but the sleep / rest I was hoping to get in my family vacation with two elementary- aged school children is sorely lacking. This is a huge inconvenience and had we known this, we would have absolutely Never booked this hotel. I’m so disappointed and angry about this.

Family fun in the sun!
Family trip to this resort and highly recommend. This is a family, friendly hotel and resort with lots of children and adults. Age range was all levels. Food was good and well for the quality. Lots of options for food and beverages as it is all inclusive. Pools were clean everything was clean. The neighboring community is packed with shopping and restaurants and bars. Extremely safe! We walked around at night several times. The beach is outstanding and white sand! The water was clean and clear. The weather was outstanding with temperatures in the mid 80s every day and sunshine galore! No rain. There is a strong breeze of about 20 mph every day which helps keep it cool. Watch the sun!! Beach huts must be gotten early! We were down there by 6 AM every day to get one held. We did the ATV ride and it was an absolute blast. You ride side-by-side buggies, two per vehicle. DePalms tour for the win!! Hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. Easy ride and we were picked up at the airport with our tour company. Airport on the way out is a little challenging as there are two sets of customs and two sets of security. You go through customs for Aruba and then also for the United States. The benefit is that you do not have to go through US customs back in the United States. Airport is small and easy to navigate other than that. Food was expensive at the airport and crowded. Multiple countries in and out. Highly recommend this resort and the area we were in. Eagle Beach is phenomenal!
