  The Best!

  I have stayed at Velas since 1999 every year and it is my favorite vacation spot. Staff is amazing from check in (Abigale) to front desk (Cindy) Bell desk (Caesar) Concierge (Alexandro) and room maid( Graciela) who has looked after us for over 15 years. These are only the names I remember but the rest of the staff are also amazing. The property is old style Mexico hospitality with beautiful grounds and amazing maintenance of the property every year. Suites are renovated frequently and beautiful. We stay many places in Mexico but when we return to Velas it is like coming home!

  Great experience at Velas Vallarta

  We went for a wedding event. All of the staff is super friendly. Hotel staff provided excellent service. Restaurant staff is especially going out of the way to accommodate to our dietary restrictions. Restaurant by the lobby and also by the beach, the food was very delicious.

  Great Week with Friends!

  Amazing relaxing week with friends! We had the BEST pool waiter ever - Carlos. Great guy! Also Roberto at La Ribera, too many awesome people to mention. Nice rooms, beautiful grounds and good food! Very close to airport also, about a 10 minute drive.

  Another great stay!!

  We always look forward to our yearly trip to Velas Vallarta. The stunningly beautiful landscaping, friendly service and large accommodations are just a few of the excellent hallmarks of this resort. Since our visit exactly one year ago, there were many notable improvements/updates. The most numerous changes were with our one bedroom deluxe suite. Upon entering, it was immediately noticeable that it had been given an update. From new cabinets, doors, and kitchen counters, to new bedside USB ports/lighting, a new rainfall shower head, new artwork and new sofa cushions, these were only just a few of the lovely updates we encountered. Andrea restaurant featured a new a/c system, new ceiling and new buffet food display which greatly improves the overall appearance of these offerings. La Ribera featured some new lighting decor and a beautifully remodeled ice cream stand in its same previous location. We tried the new hamburger/sandwich menu that is available for lunch by the pool and enjoyed the quality of these dishes. One new event not seen on previous visits, which is specific to Thanksgiving week only, was the huge Thanksgiving Day dinner/show right on the beach. Wow, this was most impressive and made for an incredibly special evening. We sincerely hope they do this event again in the future. So well done!! While I'm sure I didn't capture or mention all the new changes this year, it is refreshing and important to continually see new investments being made at Velas. The Sunday night Mexican fiesta is still running, however this year we found the food offerings to be less than last year. I trust there are valid reasons for the keeping the food offerings smaller, I just missed the bigger variety of tasty items from years past. My waistline did not miss it though. :) Speaking of food, we found the overall food to be great, with the steaks in La Ribera being an improvement, specifically the New York steak. I continue to love breakfasts in La Ribera, with all the delicious pastries and variety of items for all tastes. As always, the employees of Velas Vallarta are so lovely, warm, and welcoming. They constantly strive to ensure your vacation is a great one and all work tremendously hard. Below are some of the staff that make Velas shine and made our trip so memorable. - Ivan and Rogelio (Roger) at the pool - they took SUCH great care of us. All of the pool servers are excellent and it's a pleasure to again see the smiling faces of Edwin, Marcelino, Carlos, and Jacinto. -Cristina, as well as the excellent serving team of Miguel and Manuel, all at breakfast in La Ribera. Paulina was lovely in the mornings too and Oney in the evenings at La Ribera provided great service. -Jesus at the Front Desk - always a star and so good with remembering names. -Misael and his craft cocktail mixology cart, such a nice guy. -Christian - MC extraordinaire and wonderful, friendly ambassador of Velas -Both Omars in Andrea restaurant in the evenings as well as servers Julio and Francisco in the evenings too - great service. - The female singer in La Ribera in the evenings - unfortunately I don't know her name but we enjoy her so much. -Juan Carlos - Asst General Manager, such a kind gentleman. Velas Vallarta for us is a gem and we always find such happiness here year after year. To see them constantly evolving and improving the guest experience, while keeping its original charm, is extremely pleasing. Can't wait for 2025!

  Beautiful grounds and ocean swimming

  An excellent resort with beautiful grounds. Multiple pools with different vibes. I enjoyed the middle pool with a chill atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff (especially Eric)! Excellent food and the tequila selection was top notch. I love swimming in the ocean and enjoyed doing so here. We went during a dry season and the ocean was warm. It's not as clear as Cabo, but the waves and beach were great. Make sure when you go in to time your entry as the waves can be gnarly. But I love that! Beyond the surf, nice to just float.
