    Villa Del Palmar Cabo

The resort was nice. You can swim in the ocean at this resort. The restaurants were excellent. The only issue we had was they were doing construction from 7am thru midnight everyday right below our room. The resort did not offer to move us to a different room. There was nightly entertainment. We opted for the all-inclusive meal plan which included all the restaurants at this resort and also at Villa Del Arco. There was a trolley that ran every 3 minutes between each resort. Nice touch.

    The Breakfast Artisan

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We did the all inclusive and had great service from almost everyone we encountered. By far the best service was from Armando at breakfast at Bella California. I have never seen anyone who works harder than Armando - he is a multi-tasking genius, a breakfast artisan, and the poster child for a service-oriented mindset. He does the job of 3 people with a genuine smile. One day, my wife ordered an omelet and waffle from his station, but accidentally walked away with only the omelet before the waffle was done. When the waffle was ready, Armando took the time to find us at our table and walk it over on a separate plate. He truly goes above and beyond to give guests a great experience. He is an incredible asset to Villa del Palmar. We also had great service from our maid, Reyna. She had a super sweet attitude and did extra little touches to make our room feel special. The best food I ate at Villa del Palmar was the peppercorn filet at dinner at Bella California. It was the most tender piece of meat I have eaten in several years.

Older Resort with Moldy Smelling Rooms

This was our first visit to Cabo and this resort. The check in process was very tedious because their computer systems have been down for several months. Customer internet access is very weak. While the resort has a beautiful location on the Sea of Cortez, the rooms have a strong musty, moldy smell that doesn't dissipate when you leave the sliding door in the room open for extended periods. The front desk begrudgingly let us look at several other rooms that were available including one in another building but the strong odor was present in both of these other rooms as well. We thought the smell might be caused by dirty AC ducts, but the smell was just as strong when we completely turned off the AC. After now reading other reviews about mold odor that date back 6 months or more, we feel that this could be a long term issue that hasn't been addressed. We spent as much time outside our room as possible to avoid being in this toxic space but we had to sleep in it for the 6 nights of our prepaid trip. We enjoyed the beach but disliked the vendors hanging out on the beach right in front of the resort. There were 15 or more of them who kept asking people to buy something all day long. The resort pool area was very loud with music blaring over a loudspeaker all day long or entertainment staff running events over the loudspeaker. Also what were ostensibly concierge staff actually turned out to be salespeople eager to give tours and sell timeshare memberships. I wouldn't recommend this resort if you want to avoid older rooms with mold or if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing resort experience.

    Relaxing and enjoyable week

Arrival went well on the shared airport shuttle arranged in advance with the resort. We were able to get in the room an hour early which was appreciated. The one bedroom/two bath, with kichen, was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The resort has been unfortunately without internet service for several weeks which created some inconveniece but we survived. We enjoyed the adult pool and many of the restaurants. They have a great sports bar where we enjoyed alot of college and pro football games with great service from Angelica and Sergio. The days spent at the pool found us receiving extra special service from Nayeli who made sure the drinks kept coming nonstop. The resort has a good beach area where you can actually walk all the way into Cabo. We would definitely return again.
