    excellent

Amazing experience! nothing really negative to say about the hotel except I wish there was more entertainment after 11pm but besides that nothing to complain about, all the staff was insanely nice and respectful. Food was good, drinks were good. Beach was small but nice and clean and no issues finding a chair

    DON"T GO!!!!

Never will go again after 3 times with 13 of us in our group. Terrible food now, rooms getting old, bars empty with no staff, staff only smile and nice IF you give a tip and entertainment is Not Good At All. Totally not the same. Rui is way better in Jamaica. We all were so disappointed!!

    HORROR

Good afternoon, My family and I checked in on December 20th, 2024, the room we received was ok, yes just ok. The food was atrocious to say the least, we paid for all-inclusive, and we could not enjoy the food on property we had to spend extra money to buy food in the town. I spoke with Ms. Cordell about the matter. She tried to make reservations at the other restaurants, that was a disaster we were booked for hibachi but when we got there, we were told that hibachi was full so we should choose from the regular menu. We left the restaurant without ordering that night because the menu was a big disappointment. My son went into the pool for a few hours on December 21 and came back to the room later that evening with a high fever. Another family that we met in the elevator complained about their daughter that went into the same pool and woke up with a fever the next day. I seemed like the pools were not cleaned. On December 23 at about midnight, I was sitting on the toilet and felt water droplets on my back. I thought it was water from the a/c vent. In the morning when my husband checked the bathroom, he found that it was water from the ceiling. We are contractors and know that buildings a built with toilets over the toilet. That water was from the toilet in the room above us. This was later confirmed by maintenance staff later that day. We reached out to the front desk regarding the matter, they informed us that they will reach out to maintenance. Later that day it got progressively worst. By the time the maintenance staff came there was water all over the toilet and the bathroom floors. We were in contact with the manager by this time, Ms. Cordell, she tried to find us another room. She found a room on the other side of the property, but it was not the same as the room that we paid for. She went in search of another room she found, a room 8 doors down the hall from where we were staying, Ms. Cordell said she walked through the room, and everything was fine. This was 10pm at night and by this time I had to get my children that were already asleep out of bed to move all our stuff to the new room. Once everything was moved into the new room my husband went to use the bathroom and discovered that the toilet in this new bathroom was leaking and there was water all over the floor. I went to get Ms. Cordell by this time I was told there was a shift change and that the night manager had called out. The front desk staff informed us that they would call maintenance, maintenance did not show up until after 1am. Whatever maintenance did was not enough because when we were checking out on the morning of December 25, the toilet was leaking again it was reported to the front desk. I was told that I should speak to guest services to get some kind of compensation, Ms. Cordell offered me $75 for the gift shop, which I think was a big insult after all that we went through. She reached out to her boss who told her to ask me to send an email to customer service. My vacation was ruined and thousands of dollars spent on this trip I feel was wasted, we left feeling very disappointed, angry and frustrated. We should have at least been given back one night compensation. I will also be sending a detailed review to the respective parties that were part of book this trip. Thank you, Davia

    Enjoyed but would not return

It's ok certainly not 5 star. The resort itself is stunning. The grounds are maintained very well even during the busy period we stayed. Where the hotel falls short in my opinion is first the food. Although there is plenty of it with lots of choice it could taste better, particularly the jamaican dishes. It is not authentic jamaican food with many dishes just tasting off for example oxtail, fried dumplings, bulla beef and callaloo. (Inediable) The jerk hut at lunch time is very nice but gets very busy then often after queuing they have ran out of chicken or burgers or buns. During my stay the roundhouse was often closed during times it was supposed to be open so not sure what that was about. With regards to staff I met some of the most amazing, beautiful and genuine people and many will go above and beyond (Julia, Mary & many others). However we also experienced really rude staff, frequent enough for me to not return to the hotel. The reception staff in particular are rather miserable which dampens your holiday and the room cleaners never seem to want to clean the room. Everyday asking if anything needs doing, in the hope you will say no. It is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, yes I would like my bin emptied and floor swept without feeling like I have to beg. Alot of the cleaners seem to be standing around having personal conversations very loud. This didn't bother me per se but it does seems a little unprofessional. I was also overcharged purposely twice in the village shops clearly for staff to tip themselves. Very off putting as I always tip anyway. Another thing that was frustrating is the cleaners never have clean towels so you have to call reception and wait all day for them to be delivered. Entertainment in the evening is ok. However the Jamaica show and Bob Marley show was a little disappointing. Considering your in Jamaica expected more. The show you pay for on the Wednesday is definetley worth it. Really enjoyed and very talented. The resort is very large but it is nice to walk around. Not the easiest if you have a pushchair as there are very little ramps. Even the bridges over the pools have steps which suprised me. The rooms are large and adequate. We were comfortable in our room and felt it offered everything that we needed. Never experienced any issues other than a bulb going which maintenance sorted within a couple of minutes. Did I enjoy my stay. Yes definitely Would I return again, probably not.
