Nice week at the beach
We stayed at the Sunscape for one week at the beginning of February. Read lots of reviews, both negative and positive. Decided to take a chance. So glad we did. Rooms are dated but clean, thanks to staff like Rosa. Our air conditioner worked great and always had hot water in building 8. Great views of the Sunclub pool, the beach and the Caribbean sea. Food in restaurants is average but edible. Staff like Nattaly in the buffet make meals enjoyable. Blue Water Grille was our favorite place to eat. Coffee at Coco Cafe was always a nice break. Best part was the beach. Lots of lounge chairs. Calm water because of the break wall. Snorkeling right off the beach with lots to see. Bartenders like Zoraida are always friendly and helpful. No need to leave the resort but sight seeing the island was great also. I would not hesitate to return to this resort.

Great experience!!
This is a wonderful spot. Not so big that you get lost. Lots of food choices, activities, and everything is quite close. The only downside is the air conditioning, which needed help. The staff was superb! I don' t remember meeting such friendly people at a resort. I would highly recommend this place.

Sunscape Curacao was our worst vacation experience ever.
Horrible customer service- our rooms were downgraded without any notification and no attempt to remedy our ocean view room became a back parking lot and green plumbing view. Had food poisoning. Food and drink prep areas unclean. Room was musty and moldy smelling. Fridge wasn’t cold in room. TV didn’t work. Left after 48 hrs.

Skip the Sun Scape resort in Curacao
The all inclusive resort was the worst vacation I've ever had. We paid for VP Service and the private Sun Club. If you weren't up at 6:30 a.m. good luck getting a lounge chair at the pool. Guests were reserving them the night before with pool floats, towels, you name it. Then noone would show up to use them until sometime in the early afternoon, so all the chairs were not usable. Pretty much the same with all the restaurants. Arrive 30 minutes early, stand in line, and get mediocre food and service at best. Sun Club rooms are comparable to the Comfort Inn, but they call themselves the Hyatt. AC never cooled the room even when turned down to 60 degrees. The resort is all-inclusive including room service. Good luck trying to get room service on the app. After a day at the beach, came back to no hot water in any room at the Sun Club. At every turn this place was a complete dissapointment, except for the view, which was the only saving Grace. We will never return to Curacao or the Sun Scape resort. Very disappointed.

BEWARE OF THIS RESORT NOW OWNED BY HYATT CORP.
My wife and I have traveled all over the Caribbean for the past fifty years and have stayed at some fantastic places. This past week we stayed at the Sunscape resort on the island of Curacao, that is now owned by the Hyatt Corporation. I would like to start by saying that the beach, tidal pool and ocean are just breathtaking, with crystal clear water. We had a nice ocean front room with a great view and great air conditioning. They had one good restaurant which was a Hibachi grill, the food was fantastic and cook and wait-staff were great. This is where the good comments stop. I have never posted a negative comment about a resort prior to this. The main dining hall that served breakfast, lunch and dinner we nicked named the Mess Hall served the same below par food for the entire stay. The so-called mini bar in the room that they advertise as fully stocked is truly a joke. You may not believe this, but you were limited to two sodas a day, again that is one soda a day for my wife and I. I am not kidding because this is what we were advised by the staff. We traveled through the Unlimited Vacation Club with friends that have a membership. There were five couples in the group. Bridget, who is employed by the club, was great and tried to help us as much as she was able to. Her hands were tied and could only do what the Hyatt personnel would allow her to do. Some in our group had to switch rooms, due to many deficiencies with their rooms. After cleaning our room, the maid took the comforter off the bed and did not replace it. It took two days to get replaced. There was absolutely no pool or beach service at all zero. The drinks were so so and had to ask for double to get any resemblance of a drink. I don’t drink so this did not bother me. One day the beer tab was not working, so the was no beer for most of the day. Two members of our group fixed it for the bartender. This happened at the other bar that was close by also. So, whoever set the taps that day, evidently did not know what they were doing. While at the resort, we talked to many other guests that were of the same opinion of the resort that I have posted here. BEWARE OF THE SUNSCAPE RESORT NOW OWNED BY HYATT CORP.
