Best Staff Ever
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Dreams La Romona. This was because of the very swimable beach. Very clear water and soft sand. The food was awesome. We enjoyed Bordeaux and Himitsu the most. A must do is Flying Fish for lunch. As with most resorts, it is all about the staff. We had a great experience with the entertainment team. Especially the joy and energy felt by Sardy. This girl is filled with excitement. Her partner Roofline was also helpful. The wait staff was also excellent. Especially the very sweet Maribel at the Preferred Club beach bar. And finally, a special shout out to our butler Carlos. He provided great info every day. Helped us understand the special events and was kind with every interaction. Helping us every morning was Sony. He is very kind

Our week at Dreams Dominicus - mostly wonderful.
Got back yesterday from a week stay with adult kids and my grandkids. Overall it was a wonderful experience in spite of some negatives. Beach and pools were wonderful and warm and it was worth it to us to rent the cabanas some days for more shade. Weather was great. We had two rough beach days but the rest were calm. Beaches were clean and there was no seaweed. We were in the preferred section which was further from the beach and main restaurants but we had the Flying Fish one nearby for breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed the kids preferred pool and quieter preferred beach areas also. Quiet and peaceful in our area, but we could smell the traffic fumes going by the preferred area pool. There are many other pools to enjoy though. Pool temps and ocean temps were wonderfully warm. Activities near the main pools were good and fun. But we wished there was more early evening entertainment for the little kids. The rooms: comfortable beds, great showers, things worked well other than the bedside lamp in my room and a sink leak in another room which were fixed quickly. Food was actually better at the buffets than at the a la carte restaurants, which was disappointing. For example, the buffet ones offered freshly made eggs while you waited in the morning. The food in the warming trays was lukewarm though at times and best avoided. The preferred area pizza maker did a good job of making pizzas in the hot pizza oven in 5 mins flat. Two of us got sick from the food though at a la cartes. Food missed the mark several times. My fave thing was the caprese salad at the Italian restaurant. We could always get into the restaurants without any reservations (you can't make them and we didn't need them). We could always get seats and beach towels at the beach and pools. More no-alcohol drinks would be good - ones not filled with sugary syrup. The staff were amazing and so kind and helpful in just about every department. Costco rep nowhere to be seen though and finding out our transfer time back to the airport was a 2 hour job. I won't use Costco travel ever again. We liked the sandwiches and coffees at the Coco Cafe by the way. Room service at six in the morning was a total fail - cold coffee and toast. Better to wait for the breakfast restaurant to open up at 7:00 AM. The spa services were very good and relaxing. Wait for the spa reps at the beaches and hut for a better price offer - the listed prices were outrageously expensive. We got a photo package we were happy with but negotiated a better price as the listed prices were expensive. Bring everything you need or pay $30 for a tiny bottle of cough medicine or sun block. We brought all we needed, but checked out the prices to see what they had. We used the golf cart drivers a lot to get to the beach and restaurant areas and never waited more than 30 mins - usually just 10 mins. Overall, I would rate this as a very good resort and would go back if they could just improve the food quality and safety. For bed comfort and staff I would give it 5 stars but only 3 or so for the food.

Excellent resort overall, family friendly
Beautiful smaller resort, easy to walk around. Lovely sand and ocean, no rocks or seaweed. Very spacious with lots of chairs and tables not crowded in restaurants, most have an outdoor patio. pools were well kept and beautiful, swim up rooms were great. I am glad we choose the Preferred as we had a separate beach area with more palapas, our special restaurant and bar. Bring your own swim floats.
