Dive Into La Romana
At the center of La Romana tourism is golf at the resort Casa de Campo. World-renowned golf course designer Pete Dye created Teeth of Dog, Dye Fore and The Links, some of the top golf courses in the world today, all located on this massive resort property. But that doesn’t mean you have to be a golfer to enjoy La Romana. For those who want both relaxation and adventure, the warm and clear water makes for great snorkeling, cave exploring and scuba diving. Along with museums, art galleries, shopping, quaint restaurants and more, La Romana offers both golfers and the casual traveler plenty to do for a great all-inclusive vacation.

Exciting Underwater Surprises
If you stay at Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach or Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace, you may run into a pleasant surprise snorkeling off the coast. The world’s first underwater shipwreck museum gives you an up-close and personal view of the remains of the early-18th century Guadalupe and Tolosa Spanish galleons. The ships, which originally wrecked off the Samana Bay, have been moved to the Bayahibe beach area to let the public see the wreckage in its original form. The Guadalupe Underwater Archaeological Preserve together with the Captain William Kidd 1699 shipwreck makes this region an exciting place to snorkel and dive.

Step Back in Time in Altos de Chavón Village
One of Casa de Campo's most interesting facilities is the Altos de Chavón Village. It's a living recreation of a 16th century Spanish village and features artisans, performers and more. You'll love strolling through the cobblestone paths and enjoing the vintage-romantic look of the amphitheater and church that make up most of the property. A cool feature of the village is the Altos de Chavón School of Design, an affiliation of the Parson’s School of Design in New York. Make sure to browse the art galleries and little shops and stop in at an eatery for a good meal. Experiencing the village is like a step back in time to a place where peace and beauty are first priority.
