    Do not honor reservations

We booked a two bedroom panoramic suite and after reading all the negative reviews about cancelled reservations I reached out to the hotel to confirm. I was worried and tempted to cancel since so many reviewers had this experience. We had been to many nice resorts in PV and Punta Mita we decided to try someone different. Ramon, the pre-arrival concierge confirmed our reservation as a two bedroom panoramic suite dated the dates we booked. Relieved with this confirmation, we decided to move forward with our stay. We arrived at the hotel tired and hungry after flying all day with our kids at 9 pm only to be told “unfortunately the room you booked is not available “. I was flabbergasted and floored. I showed both my booking confirmation AND the email confirmation we had from Ramon. Despite this, they did not have our room and had no options other than to split our family up into two small rooms in different locations. There was no apology or refund offered, just the statement of no room and a blank stare. I’m not sure how they continue to do this despite the hundreds of negative reviews on here. The next day at the pool I heard them say the same thing to a family who had just arrived. It seems to be a regular business practice and they have gotten comfortable having a percentage of unhappy customers. The manager will “take into consideration” this feedback but seems to not care at all. We visit Mexico often and will NOT stay here again. There are too many nice resorts in PV to gamble on if you’ll show up and have a room or not. We paid over $10k for the trip and would much rather have spent it somewhere else. Lesson learned!

    Do not recommend!

We recently stayed at Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta, and I’ve never been more disappointed with a resort experience. We booked a Panoramic Suite for our family of five, but when we arrived to check in, we were shocked to find out that the room we had reserved was no longer available. No one informed us of this change ahead of time. Instead, they silently downgraded us and charged us the full amount without saying a word. It was only because I noticed the discrepancy that I brought it up — and the staff couldn’t have cared less. They were unapologetic, unhelpful, and essentially told us there was nothing they could do. The price difference between the rooms was almost $1,300, and yet I was told only a manager could authorize anything. The problem? The manager was “unavailable” and remained that way until day three of our stay. Throughout our time there, we witnessed this happening to at least 15 other families and couples. Some had booked and paid in full for specific rooms nearly a year in advance, only to arrive and be displaced into other rooms—some families even split up into two separate spaces. It became clear that timeshare owners are given preferential treatment, while regular paying guests are treated like an afterthought. Concierge service was a complete joke. Rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested if you weren’t signing up for their presentation. It was disheartening to be treated that way, especially at a resort that markets itself as luxury. To be fair, the food was fine and the kids club was great — but nothing could make up for how terribly our room situation was handled. We felt taken advantage of and disrespected. I will never stay at another Garza Blanca property again and cannot recommend it to others.

    Family Spring Break trip

Stayed here for spring break with my wife and 4 kids. The room was huge and had everything we needed. Easy access to the lobby, pool, beach and main restaurant. Food was great everywhere. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle system is kind of a pain, but not that bad really. The spring fed pool at the top of the resort is great! Only issue was the hard sell to come to the sales meeting. I will never understand why all these resorts pressure people so much to come to the time share breakfast. It totally ruins the experience to have to tell someone “no” several times before they leave you alone. Once they finally get the hint, the”concierge” goes cold and is less than helpful. Beyond that, it was a great trip. Would love to go back, but would like to find a way before we go to let them know we aren’t interested in a time share or wasting a morning hearing about it.

Great food and the best views

The views and ambiance here are dope. And it’s a little ways out of town so it’s nice and peaceful. Also the food here is the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. We had dinner on the patio one night and the views were amazing . The staff were all very welcoming and helpful.
