Property not well maintained, but friendly staff
We selected Costa Blu because it was more secluded than the other resorts, and we were looking forward to some peace and relaxation. There were several issues during our stay; however, that overall made this a very disappointing experience. First, we did not have hot water and even after the engineer came by, we only had it 50% of the time. The fixtures and overall buildings were cheaply made and not well maintained, and covered in lime. There were cockroaches in our room. The pool had not been cleaned in weeks, and there were cigarettes all around it from other guests. The food was mediocre, but honestly, met expectations. The only reason I'm giving this a 2 star instead of a 1 star review, is because there staff were incredibly friendly and hard working. We especially enjoyed Wayne, very lovely. Overall, it appears to me that this hotel may be in financial trouble as they are selling off some of their buildings, which would also explain the deferred maintenance. If you're looking for peace and quiet and an enjoyable vacation, look elsewhere.

Winter vacation
We decided to take a trip to get out of the cold. San pedro was a great place, 80s, sun, sand, and ocean front view. The resort is dated and fast from town, but the staff at the bar are exceptional. Lotion, Wayne, Alyson, and the others always made our breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks wonderful. The check in counter needs to work on communicating with guests that the snorkeling crew and fishing crew will come to the resort and pick you up. We planned on it so, we asked, however other guests didn't and we were letting them know; sometimes on their last day, so they couldn't go on any excursions. Some reviews say their food was slow in coming out, but it's the way it is on the entire island. Your on vacation, it's a slower lifestyle so relax and enjoy. Would go back.

Great service, bad everything else
The staff was great besides one rude front desk woman on the night shift. The lower rating stems from the facility issues. Our shower water was super cold even after mentioning it to the front desk. The front door of our room couldn’t even open fully and the door knob always got stuck. And lastly, the food took soooooooo long to get. We waited 1.5 hrs one day just to get breakfast. All other days it took damn near an hour to get our food. Another guest waited so long for her drink that she wanted to have worn dinner and she ended up not even wanting the drink. Y’all need more bartenders that move a bit quicker and a way better kitchen staff.

December stay
I really liked this place. The biggest downside was the road to the place. It takes about 40+ minutes on a golf cart from town to get here. The road is rough and filled with pot holes. The staff was great. The food was good. The pool was nice. One weird part was there were iguanas everywhere. At first it was a turn off, but eventually we got used to them. The place looks like it needs a little tlc, some of the stuff looks a little run down, but it looks like they are doing some remodeling. So, all being said I’m rating it low just for the location mostly. It took a long time to get there, and they didn’t offer any sort of shuttle service.

Pools food and beautiful beaches
The Views and incredible beaches are just a small part of the experience of this resort it is adults only the pool is always open food and service was excellent. Keep in mind you need a golf cart to get to the resort and one could complain but me I considered it part of the adventure. Prices were fair for food n drinks at the resort the pool was wonderful it was off season and it was completely all mine w exception’s of maybe another couple.
