Hotel Double Booked Our Suites and We’re In Downgraded Rooms
Through our Interval timeshare, we booked three of the Royal Suites to share among 13 travelers — multiple of which are couples. Upon arrival we were told that our suites were double booked by the hotel and we were going to be moved to only two downgraded rooms that each had one open room with double queens in each, to be shared among all of us. We spent two and a half hours in guest services showing receipts and screenshots of our original booking, trying to explain that this was the resort’s mistake and we wanted our original rooms or that are accommodations equivalent/higher quality. We asked for additional benefits (like upgraded wristbands) and were told they couldn’t do anything for us besides a single additional dinner reservation. After two and a half hours yesterday, we were given 5 individual hotel rooms to share amongst us of lower value than our original timeshares, and we are still working with guest services and the timeshare company to receive our original timeshare rooms. It is day 2 of 7 on our trip and we’ve spent most of it trying to determine what went wrong with our bookings.

Worst Customer Service Experience
Currently, staying in the Crown villa 9 A. On arrival, we felt the room wasn’t on par with what was presented on the website for booking. It’s very outdated and needs maintenance/ new renovation. The flooring is all stone tile making it very unsafe for a small toddler. Our hot water isn’t working in the showers and hasn’t since arrival 2 nights ago. Our friends are members of the lifestyles timeshare AND it’s a disservice! You are sold on nice accommodations, only to be put in the WORST, outdated living conditions. It’s a scam and next time we’re in DR, we’ll stay at another resort. I should’ve listened to other reviews on here but we are frequent travelers and aren’t unreasonable. I thought at the very least we’d have hot water. That is not too much to ask while on vacation. We’ll just caution anyone to stay here, choose another resort and let this place go under. Needs an overhaul on reasonable accommodation and customer service. We asked to be moved to a suite, aware that we’d give up the villa w/ privacy BUT that’s how bad this place is!! Can’t believe we have 4 more days here!!! Counting down!

Friends Vacay
The pools were nice they were never too crowded. We stayed in the presidential suites the rooms were spacious and loved our balcony. The food was not the best in my opinion. The buffets had “theme” nights but only like 2-4 different items. I also got sick after the asian night. They were not too pushy with becoming members because we told them we were in school and used our parents account. “Mostly true.” The entertainment was not what I expected but I only went to one show. The massage from the spa was nice but I wouldn’t book it again. They were disorganized and I’m pretty sure my lady had her phone on my bed because I kept feeling it vibrate.

Buyer Beware - Absolutely the worse experience out of the 5 different company resorts Ive stayed at!
ABSOLUTLEY STAY AWAY!! From ANY lifestyle resort in Dominican - Puerto Plata area anyway. Resort service is absolutely based on color of your band and you will receive utter bad treatment if your not a VIP Time shareholder. We traveled this year with 2 friends who were on the timeshare VIP but only as friends of VIP holders. They had the gold bands with stars and got sub par service. They were told a few times they couldn't access VIP areas or services because they were only "friends" of VIPs and not the actual member. 2nd - Last year I took my wife to lifestyles tropical for our 25th anniversary, which was still during the COVID ending in Dominican area. They were trying to rebuild the economy and there was a lot less people in the resort due to this. I felt we got much better treatment. This year, Mar - 6 - 20th 2025 I took my three oldest sons, 16 , 24 , 28, to show them how amazing the country was. The difference in service was night and day difference. Trying to book Ala Carte's was difficult to get as there only seemed to be 2 restaurants they wanted to make available to us. I arrived early one Sunday morning to book our weeks dinners and was told the Brazilian was unavailable, even though Sunday is when the reservations start fresh. As I'm trying to book, a VIP band comes in and asks for the same reservation same day and time and was given a slot immediately. I had to make a serious issue refusing to leave and was finally given a single Brazilian supper booking. The Mexican restaurant, the wait time for service was insane. Waiters wouldn't come to our table to refresh drinks, even if asked directly, it would take 30 minutes to get a 2nd drink, and you have no choice but to watch VIP bands get immaculate service. Let me preface this by saying, I tip amazing. I tip for every meal, every drink, every service offered with a smile. I watch as VIP members come and go without a single thank you or tip. Tips didn't matter. 3rd - Going to the buffet for breakfast or lunch everyday, if there was VIP bands in line, they would skip right over you and take their order, looking at you like your invisible. Walking up to the buffet, you can see loads of dirty fingerprints on each and every plate. I personally watched a server take a water cup off a used table and wipe it out with a dry cloth then pour water and serve to someone else. Open air buffet with birds flying in and out Cr$#@#ing all over the chairs and tables. The cleanliness of the resort is a 3/10. There was not a single day this trip that I seen the cabana beds get any change of linen. Last year it was daily at 7pm. I seen the pool get cleaned one day out of 14, with a simple skimming and a single jug of bleach poured in. Out of our group of 10 people, all properly vaXXinated through our home country travel pharmacists, 5 got dreadfully ill with a stomach bug that kept them in bed for 24 hrs and then 48 hours to regain energy. out both ends. And we used a large amount of hand sanitizer at every opportunity, on top of washing hands after every washroom..... if soap was available even at all. Not being able to flush toilet paper down the toilet, instead having to put in a waste bin, with a folding lid All of us received 14 days free WIFI codes but only our 2 "VIP" members could stay connected. We constantly were disconnected every 20-30 minutes and wouldn't be able to re sign in for sometimes up to 4 hrs. Again, VIP members not a single problem. I have no idea why a resort would treat potential new VIP clients this badly. Wouldn't it make more sense to treat them with VIP like treatment to entice them to maybe want to become a member? Lifestyles resorts will not receive a single dollar more from my family or our friends who were on this trip. I will gladly be supporting a different company on my next trip and giving them a shot. This review doesn't capture 25% of our bad experience points but you get the point. Our trip this year cost well over 15k dollars for 2 weeks 5 family members all inclusive. Guess not enough money to treat us with dignity and as a valuable customer. Be warned, if your not a time shareholder, you will be treated with bad service. I have never been discriminated against before, but treating band colors as a second class citizen is infuriating. Our oldest son has been to Mexico several times as a VIP and not VIP and has received the same FLAWLESS & EXCEPTIONAL Service every time regardless of band.

Lifestyle Holiday
Fun resort, good service, lots of restaurants & entertainment to enjoy. Yin Yang spa was great. Some restaurants better than others but food was good everywhere. VIP gourmet & Jazz were my favorite. Also the entrainment on the patio at Jazz is always great. Good dancing.
