Something for everyone
Something for everyone at this resort! The food at most restaurant is delicious. Our favorites were French and Italian. The breakfast buffet is also delicious. We were in the deluxe junior room and it was great. Nice and clean. Service was great. Always felt special. So relaxing, yet you could party if you wanted. Quiet night life, but still lots of things to do. Overall, very enjoyable trip! You won't regret going!

10th Visit to VIM and it just keeps impressing us!
My wife and I visited VIM in late February. This was our 10th visit and the resort just keeps impressing us. The service from the staff is amazing and I literally have never heard staff member tell someone something couldn’t be accomplished. The beach and ocean were amazing, no seaweed and the water was crystal turquoise. The grounds were impeccably clean as was our room. I’m a pretty picky eater and I’m always able to find a delicious meal at one of the restaurants. One of the aspects that I love about the VIM is, if you want to combine certain dishes to make something more enjoyable, they go over the top to make it happen. For example, at the French restaurant, I wanted the steak with a different side dish and they were very accommodating about putting the two meals together to make one. A couple staff members that really stood out during our stay was Johana at Don Miguel’s, Carlos and Teresa at Mar for breakfast. A special shout-out to Dora that once again went over the top to make our stay memorable. She makes VIM feel like a second home for us.

Always feels like home ❤️🇲🇽
We just got home from our 11th visit to the Valentin. It was just as wonderful as always. Walking in the lobby is always my favorite, the scent is so lovely. Another quick and easy check in, always greeted with champagne and a friendly staff. We were in building 5, which we usually request upon arrival, we enjoy the location of the building within the resort. We usually start with a walk to the coffee shop, followed by breakfast at Mar, the restaurant by the ocean. The service is always consistent. We love Theresa and Carlos, they are always such a joy and give excellent service. We enjoy all the restaurants at the resort. Each year we try and hit the hibachi show at Ginger. Alberto, once again put on a great show! Jesus at the French restaurant did an amazing job, so friendly and service was over the top. We went to Indonesian one night, it honestly is not our favorite but I have to point out the excellent service that Cindy provided, she was so kind. Angel seated us and had rose pedals on the table, which was a nice treat. Every night before dinner we stop at Don Miguel’s, we really enjoyed Johanna and Wilbearth. It was great to see them each night. The shows are all great and entertainment in the square after dinner. Also after dinner we have to stop and see our favorite churro guy, Santiago. I know there are people that I have missed on this review, if I could name everyone at the resort, I would, they are all wonderful! The beach this year felt perfect! Soft sand, no seaweed & warm turquoise water. I’ll save the BEST for last as she feels like family now, our friend Dora. We met her years ago when she was on the Go Team, and absolutely adore her. We look forward to seeing her every year, she is the perfect person for her job at the resort. Already looking forward our 2026 vacation at the VIM.

Really nice resort, but unsure if we'd return.
1st. Every single staff member was FANTASTIC!! Couldn't ask for better service. We've been to several resorts in Mexico, Jamaica, Punta Cana, Aruba; and the Valentin service exceeded all others. I had a small medical issue, and the staff was all over it, and took care of everything with great follow up. Our stay was for 10 days. Perfect weather all but one day. I will say this is a GREAT resort for pools. We really enjoyed the LARGE party pool several days, and also for quieter, but still fun times, the Golden "lazy river" pool was great. Can get food and drinks at both, with great service!! And the pool water is actually comfortable. Refreshing, but not COLD like at some resorts. The bali beds/Cabanas definitely could be better. They are comfortable enough, but very few give you all day shade, and a lot of them are restricted to those who bought the Prive package. We did buy the Prive for all 10 days, but I would NOT do it again at all. Yes, it was helpful to get reservations at restaurants and a reserved bali bed, but it wasn't overly necessary at all. And the lobster you get is very good, and good sized, but you can only eat so much of it. I would definitely give Valentin 5 stars if it weren't for 2 items that are usually pretty darn important on our trips. #1 the beach is not good here. The sand is fine, but you can never go swimming as the waves are always too rough, and the wind is constant. This is kind of just a known thing in this part of Mexico, it's hard to find a good, calm swimmable beach. The bali beds weren't great at the beach either, even though we were Prive. Can get food and drinks served at the beach as well. #2, and I know this isn't important to a lot of people, but the "gym" here is laughable at best. I see why they have very few pictures of it on their website. The biggest question is always, would you return? My wife and I have already discussed this. If it was just the 2 of us, then no, we would not return. If we were to travel with friends who do spend most of their time at the pool, then definitely, it really is a great resort for those who enjoy the pool scenes, both party and quiet. I haven't even mentioned the food yet, as nothing stood out good or bad. And individual tastes vary whether you like Italian, Mexican, French, etc, etc. I would not go here because of the food, but I also wouldn't avoid it because of the food. It's basic sustenance food to soak up all the booze :). Again, nothing was great, but nothing was bad either. Oh, one other thing to mention. This is a large, spread out resort; and most rooms it is a 5-7 minute walk to the restaurants, pools, beach, and gym. They do offer golf cart rides which is very helpful some days, and all the drivers are great and knowledgeable!!

Great Service as always!
This was our third time at Valentin Maya and we always have the most excellent service. This time Ricardo was amazing bringing us drinks on the beach, he elevated our experience and we loved getting to know him. We spend a lot of time at the beach and he really went above and beyond, thanks Ricardo!!
