Wedding at Grand Riviera Princess
I am writing to share my disappointment regarding my recent stay at this resort in December 2024 for my wedding. This was my third visit, and my husband and I were genuinely looking forward to the same exceptional service and experiences we had enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, this time, it fell far short of our expectations. Given that we brought a large group of guests to celebrate such a special occasion, we expected a higher level of care and attention. This is not what happened at all ... One particularly disappointing experience occurred at Chill Out Beach, a private area for which we paid extra to access. At 4:30 PM, we went to the bar and were told it was closed, even though the posted closing time was 5 PM (a time I had specifically confirmed with staff). However, after providing a generous tip, the bar suddenly “reopened.” This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a space that requires an additional fee to enjoy. It left us feeling taken advantage of and frustrated, completely tarnishing what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Additionally, the food quality at the à la carte restaurants has declined significantly. During previous visits, we loved dining at Mama Mia and the Mexican restaurant, and the food was always one of the highlights of our stay. This time, however, it was a major letdown. Our meals were served cold, and the pasta seemed like it had been made the day before. While we were not sick, the quality of the food was nowhere near what it used to be. To make matters worse, organizing group reservations was unnecessarily complicated and disappointing. Since we were celebrating our wedding, we assumed the resort would assist us with group bookings for our guests. Instead, we were told that reservations for groups larger than 10 people would incur additional charges, which is absolutely ridiculous. For smaller groups, we were informed we couldn’t make a reservation unless we paid $150 USD for a bottle of wine to secure a table. These policies made it extremely difficult to enjoy meals with our loved ones and added unnecessary stress to what should have been a joyful occasion. The resort’s overall decline in service and quality, combined with the focus on extra payments for basic hospitality, undermines the experience and damages the trust of your loyal customers. That said, I want to acknowledge Raquel Martinez, who has consistently provided exceptional service and went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. Her professionalism and kindness stood out in an otherwise disappointing experience. Sadly, this visit has solidified our decision not to return to this resort. It’s disheartening to see the decline in service and quality, especially as loyal guests who once considered this our favorite destination.

Platinum is the way to go!
Clean room, comfortable bed, two tubs, and a good sized balcony. The first night our tub on the balcony leaked onto the balcony below us but maintenance came to fix it and we had no more troubles. Our concierge Leo was super helpful and got us all the reservations we wanted. He also always said hi and chatted when we walked in the lobby. The platinum pool is small but cozy. Staff comes to take drink orders when you’re there, so you can longe all day. The beach is huge! There’s Lots of seating around the pools and beach as well, we were never without a spot. Plenty of wildlife, Coati’s/deer/agouti/iguana’s…and the Coatis are NOT as bad as the reviews make them seem, they did not come near our food or drinks. They mostly wander around looking for unoccupied plates or diving into the garbages. Some reviews also talk about the shuttle service but we loved it. It’s a huge resort and takes a bit to walk. If the shuttle wasn’t there immediately when we would go down to catch it, we would grab a drink and then it would come soon after. They stay on top of the 15min cycle. All of our food was delicious, we loved the teppanyaki and French restaurants. The buffets were also great, huge selection for breakfast and lunch.

Great vacation spot
Just winding up an amazing vacation. We spent 10 days in a villa suite. We were so happy with our room. Special shout out to some of the wait staff we got to meet this week. Ady at the villa pool truly went above and beyond. She played a strong role in helping make our vacation what it was, despite some other overly demanding guest who had her very busy, she made sure that we were always taken care of and brought our group lots of fun surprise shot. Other exceptional wait Staff we met were Marguerita from the Riviera lobby bar and the plaza bar, and Lupita in the sunset platinum bar. Can't say enough good things about these special people. They, along with dozens of others are what makes this resort special.

Been to Mexico several times and this was a disappointment
Our stay started off with absolutely terrible food witch continued the entire two weeks. Food was either under cooked or over deepfried . Daily buffets didn't put any effort to change . The room we stayed in by the second day bathroom door fell off sliders . Was repaired but 2 days later broken again witch didn't get repaired. Mini fridge had broken shelves both sides . Cock roaches in room . kotis and raccoons running everywhere in and out of garbage cans along swimming pools and on the beach it was over run. Place wasn't very clean. Very minimal activities for kids . Truly a disappointment.

Grand not really
The resort was very spacious. Beach was very nice. The evening entertainment was the same as it was last time i was here. We had 2 teenagers with us. I found there was not enough activities to keep them busy except beach volleyball which they really enjoyed and made alot of friends. But there are these little critters that want to grab your food from you. There are so many and they are all over the place. I did not like that. They even go through the garbage bins cuz the holes are large enough for them to jump in and out of the cans. It is very hard to book the evening restaurants. Food is not that good anymore in the buffets. I came here before covid and food was great then. Food not fresh. Only 1 live station to make eggs in morning. Same type of food and hot stuff is cold. My husband was complaining the juice was watered down and too sugary. And theres a guy who comes around with the drinks for your fridge. He knocks on the door and 2 mins later opens the door. We were still in bed at 9 am. What is the use of locking the door. I want my privacy. Spend your money somewhere else. I will never come here again.
