Horrible Resort
This resort is very old and outdated. Don’t believe the pictures it’s rundown needs major renovation and upgrade. We are not picking travelers, but I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the food quality was horrible and the liquor is bottom shelf if not worse upgrade to a better accommodation by paying few hundred dollars more you want. Enjoy your vacation here.

Great ocean view, bad food, broken hot tubs
We loved that every room had an ocean view, but the buffet food and several of the restaurants were just awful. The breakfast buffet had no eggs or bacon, you had to wait in line at the grill for 20+ minutes, and very few choices in foods were available. The snack bars only had hamburgers, hotdogs, fried foods…same choices every day. There were no street tacos anywhere. Three out of the five restaurants had awful tasting food. You can only book the restaurants the day of, and it opens at 8 AM and is full by 8:05. Fortunately, you can just walk in to the Italian and French restaurants, but you have to wait awhile. Both large hot tubs in the adult pool area were broken, and apparently had not been working for many months. We partially booked that hotel for the hot tubs since it was January and tends to be cooler weather. All the pools were way too cold for most adults. The kids slide/pool area was good. The evening entertainment shows were pretty good, and they offer 3 movies every evening. The game room was fun. The putt-putt golf course was in really bad shape, and there were never any clubs/balls available for us to check out because they were apparently checked out by other guests - none of whom were actually golfing, The beach was pretty nice, free of seaweed and coral. But we couldn’t go very far out in the ocean before being whistled at by lifeguards who were apparently worried we would be swept away. There were very few super-friendly employees anywhere on the property; most were just ok. Rooms and house keeping service were good. View was fantastic. Location was good. This is definitely a “you get what you pay for” resort, since we paid quite a bit less than other resorts we’ve stayed at in Cancun or Playa.

3 star at best
More staff for check in. Inflexibility of some restaurant captains. Restaurant reservation must be completed at exactly 8:00 am or you will not likely get reservations.

Great for families
Great hotel for families, old but well maintained, kids club is awesome the big slides too. Food is good but lacking salt everywhere. Buffet is simple without too much stuff but everything is good, hot and no one gets sick there. Playa and pools are great. Good surveillance all over for the kids, we had no problem leaving them to the kids club. Little refresh’s are needed here and there but the staff does a great job. We had lot of fun. Rooms are simple but effective, who goes there to stay in the room anyway. Mabe 1 more open bar at night could be good cause the waiting was a bit long. Was missing a cigar/alcohol store and mabe a place or two to sit and enjoy a cigar at night. Would recommend this hotel anytime, it was well worth the price we paid!

Lovely visit
You get what you pay for! This hotel is officially 3 star I believe and I think it deserves the rating. Rooms are basic but have what you need. Breakfast and lunch buffet are nice, the pizza was a little undercooked mind you. Dinner in the buffet wasn’t nice but this is down to individual taste, I just couldn’t find anything I liked. There are a lot of pork dishes and I don’t like pork. The main downside for me was the queuing for breakfast. The main buffet restaurant is packed and it isn’t big enough for the size of the hotel. We noticed on the last day that the convention centre also serve breakfast, we went over there and there was a small queue and not as many options for food. Booking other restaurants on the resort for dinner was easy, 8am on the website. I can see how in busier months it may be hard to secure a table. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in Cancun in the future, perhaps even back at this hotel.
