Great inexpensive sunny holiday!
I used this site a fair bit before we left on vacation, so wanted to add a review to help others. For context, British couple, early 50s, no kids. Before we left we were aware that the rooms looked slightly dated (we were in an non refurbished room on the Harmony side, 3rd floor) and the bathrooms were small, so this is what we expected. We were on the beach from 7am-5pm, then at the bar and then at dinner, so we literally slept there so it did not bother us at all. The beds were comfortable & the aircon was great, so we slept well. The shower pressure was good & the towels soft which is all we needed! The mini fridge is handy & was stocked with soft drinks. We found all the staff to be very friendly, greeting you when you walked past… there was never a queue of more that 1 or 2 people at any of the bars, and the food seemed to come out pretty quickly. Drinks were plentiful, sometimes on the weak side, but there was tons of choice. Wine was drinkable but meh. Food was “average chain restaurant (e.g. Cote/Cafe Rouge if you are British) standard” - neither amazing or terrible. We avoided the buffet and had breakfast on the Veranda, and booked for the speciality restaurants in the evening. At lunch we loved the jerk chicken at the treehouse, it was so fresh & delicious or we ordered a boxed salad at the Flipflops cafe. We didn’t order the fresh pizzas but they looked great… we did try a quesadilla & a gyro wrap which were great. The outdoor of the property is well kept & clean. Lots of choice for both adult & kids pools, loungers are plentiful and we could always find a quiet spot. An unexpected hit for us was the lazy river, it was perfect to float around on after lunch - we mostly saw adults on there, I think the kids found it too slow & boring. We loved the fact that you can walk for a mile or so along the sandy beach, the sea was mostly calm & they clear the sargassum from the sand a couple of times a day. Beach cabanas looked nice but we felt $175 daily was a lot, so didn’t bother. There are sun beds overlooking the beach so you can look out over the sea without actually being in the sand - perfect for us! They are also cleverly set up so that you can rotate them as the sun moves. We took a hotel organised sunset cruise which I disliked, mostly as for some unknown reason the skipper seemed to be facing the boat away from the sun for the majority of the trip! The snacks were terrible and on the way back they seemed to take us past an industrial area where a huge fire was raging. For $69 I would avoid. We took a much more successful private day trip out with Grasshopper Tours, they have a stand on the Paradise beach. This was great: I put a detailed review of this on Tripadvisor. All in all, this was a great inexpensive holiday. We don’t usually stay at all inclusive hotels so find it hard to compare, but for what we paid the standard seemed pretty good & we would return. Items to take with you: Lots of sunscreen; I have dark skin and used factor 50 the whole week Lots of anti-mosquito spray, we used it and had only a very few bites - others had lots Your own insulated cup for drinks at the beach, the bar will fill it for you Snacks: we took small bags of pretzels, nuts & olives with us, we like these with our pre-dinner drinks Small bills: $1, $5 & $10 for tips. It’s not expected but appreciated and we felt pleased we were able to give small amounts for good service Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Island Happiness in Paradise
Coconut Bay is super convenient to the airport but seems like it is on its own island. The resort grounds are huge, although everything you will need is within easy walking distance. The rooms are large with great AC and comfortable beds. We stayed on the family side which is lively with a massive pool and plenty of sun beds. No need to wake at dawn to save one. Our favorite spot was Paradise Beach, a short walk from the pool, with plenty of shaded chairs, hammocks, and crystal clear calm water. There is a bar central on the beach and a short walk further all the water sports. We were able to snorkle right from the beach. The lazy river is a must, and we had a blast on the water slides. The sit-down restaurants were very nice and we enjoyed each. The Balcony was our favorite for breakfast. The jerk hut was never busy and served up wonderful carribean food. Drinks are always just a couple steps away including top shelf brands with very friendly staff. There was theme every night with great interactive staff. We found everyone on the resort to be very friendly and accommodating. Some of our new friends are Solange, Kevin and Topaz. Stop and talk with the staff and they will be happy to share island insights, culture and something about their family. This is a wonderful resort away from the hustle and bustle of the West side of the island.

Loved Coconut Bay
Our stay at coconut bay was incredible, the staff & locals at the resort are amazing! I’m not sure how to put our experience into words, I’ve been down south many times before & nothing compares to coconut bay st Lucia. The food wow amazing ! The staff incredible ! The resort just stunning ! The beach was beautiful, yes like any place down south there was sea weed but the resort constantly cleaned up the beach, and the fun part… it was like grass sea weed so it didn’t stick to your feet and in the ocean there was not much (built up on the sand) we made friends with the staff a special shout out to Nicole, Shakina, Theon(a) & Keisha, these woman made our stay so comfortable and they each pose a special skill, talent ! There’s so much I want to write on this review but will get lost into heavy word count, so if you are looking to stay at coconut bay DO IT! Please don’t shy away from tipping the staff, they work incredibly hard to make your stay comfortable , they never once asked us for tip and it was an absolute pleasure for us to pay them for such an incredible service, no judgment but often (with my travels) I feel due to all inclusive staff may not get tipped , please don’t forget about them and how they do their very best to accommodate your every need. Loved every day at Coconut Bay , we travelled with a 4 year old, stayed at the Splash side and it was perfect!

A pleasant stay
We enjoyed our stay here as a family of four with a young child and a baby. There's plenty to do inside and outside of the resort, it's very family friendly, and it's very conveniently located near to the airport (without having to hear airplanes) What we liked... The room was spacious, housekeeping were efficient and left nice notes and afternoon snacks, the pools were big and a good temperature, the water slides are fun for adults and kids (!), the kids club is friendly and has lots of activities as well as a playground and splash park, Coconut Walk restaurant is convenient for breakfast lunch and dinner (with variety and tasty food - the themed evening was the best when we were able to eat outside), Jerk Shack was very tasty, plenty of entertainment, helpful staff, nice empty beach with hammocks and a bar for drinks (the huts you can rent out looked inviting), access to a nurse, access to a laundry room, on site supermarket (although expensive!). What could've been improved... The cocktails were too sweet and artificial (fresh ingredients would've been better), Silk restaurant was disappointing with lack of flavour in the dishes we had, Calabash/Trattoria had a good atmosphere but the food was average, on the carnival night the music was still very loud in our room despite the doors being closed, people reserving pool chairs and then not using them until later in the day - very frustrating. Shout out to Theona who looked after us!

Beyond a vacation!!!
My my my! What a wonderful trip we had. Our time in St. Lucia and at Coconut Bay was beyond a vacation, it was a magnificent experience. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we never felt like “just another tourist“. We were treated like family by wonderful, good hearted hard working people that I must say, are a pleasure to be among. All of the staff at the Coconut Bay resort that we encountered went above and beyond our expectations. From Ruth at the front desk with her beautiful welcoming smile and her coworker Shakira to Keisha from housekeeping, the good soul who attended to our room and made it spotless who also left us the most beautiful and precious notes, to the lovely ladies Shakina, Bertha, Theona, Dana, Chef Cray and the master of all omelettes, miss Mary D. In the marketplace cafe, Along with all of the staff of the coffee bar, each and every one of you made our mornings very special. And we cannot forget Kiara and Jakim, Erica and all of the fantastic staff at veranda. Thank you for our memorable outdoor breakfasts and to the Chefs and kitchen staff thank you all especially the excellent quality and presentation of our delicious food, it was all beyond words. Our excursions were an exciting and excellent experience as well. They were carefully planned by Wendel Attie, Michi, Tiffany and Rudy as we were dealing with health and mobility issues. The exceptional adventure staff connected us with our driver, Chalery Leonce and Davis from Nerv’s taxi and transportation services. Chalery and Davis are both awesome drivers and provided us the upmost service, professionalism, and compassion, unlike I’ve ever seen. They truly care about their passengers and both of these wonderful individuals went the extra mile to make us comfortable and happy. Regarding our mobility issues, the great golf cart transportation that was provided for us by Coconut Bay staff members, Oswald, Joel, and King were memorable and enjoyable. These great individuals provided us easy, comfortable and enjoyable transportation to and from the lobby to the resort’s “Paradise Beach”. During our visits to Paradise Beach, Christine and the staff of the Paradise Beach bar made sure we had cold and refreshing drinks. A special thanks to one of the best short order chefs we’ve ever met, Teddy. He worked his magic in the paradise beach burger stand, where I was actually able to truly enjoy a “Cheeseburger in Paradise“. During our stay, we also had the pleasure to meet many of the security staff members who also went above and beyond what I’ve seen most security staff at other resorts and hotels do. I observed security members picking up trash that was blown about by the wind and collecting used drink glasses left by other guests. Dante from Security assisted us in obtaining transportation from paradise Beach back to the resort lobby. And I had the pleasure to meet and have a good conversation at sunrise with Security member Lecious, who was working the night shift, It was truly an honor to meet these hard-working folks that put themselves in front of trouble for the safety of others. Every day we did something that involved water. We enjoyed our many conversations with the hard-working and friendly pool staff members Danneil and Dwain. And speaking of the Pool staff, we can’t forget the hard-working, good hearted and friendly folks at the swim up bar, Dona, Jamal, Nika. Lenora, Marz, along with all of the staff at flip-flops, you all left a lasting impression on our hearts. Solange at the reservation desk provided some excellent suggestions and also provided us with dinner reservations for Calabash, Silk and Trattoria restaurants. Her beautiful smile and wonderful, genuine personality truly made our day every time we were greeted by her. We also had the honor and pleasure to meet restaurant staff members that included Chef Chris, Chef Michael, Chef Sevee along with staff members that Darlz, Hermina, and Dequan, the tallest server with a gentle heart for his guests, all went the extra mile to ensure a great dining experience, but also paid great attention to important details such as food allergies and dietary restrictions. The food was delicious, carefully prepared with an attention that pursues excellence. Our evenings were filled with awesome entertainment, like our piano man who played anything we wanted and put up with us trying to sing along Lol. Two of the most memorable and hard working from the entertainment staff were Ritchie and Kimani. We had so much fun with these guys and I always looked forward to seeing them during our evening events. All of the performers that we saw were awesome. From the fire eaters and breathers too all of the wonderful dancers, singers and performers. They all did such a wonderful job and brought joy to our evenings. We would like to thank the owner of the resort Mr. Gary Hendrickson for taking time out of his busy schedule and speaking with us. It is not often that guests have the opportunity to meet the owners of resorts. On our last day, we saw two loving members who melted our sad hearts.(because we didn’t want to leave.) and gave us smiles. Hamey and Claire, you truly made a difference for us on our last day. Last but not least was our Porter Nahid who greatly helped us by bringing our bags down to the baggage area to await transport to the airport. Nahid provided us with important information about transport times and assured us a worry free and timely arrival to the airport, to which we had the pleasure to ride with Chalery again. All of the staff, and for that matter, the people of St. Lucia touched our hearts in a way like we’ve never experienced. We love each and everyone of you. I can’t wait to see you all again soon. Much love and respect, Tony and Linda Scaglione (Aka. Rooster & Kitty) Boston, MA.
