  Perfect beautiful stay!

  Alexandra resort was incredible! My husband and I and two other couples went for our 30th anniversary. The resort as well as the sister resort were amazing and beautiful. The food was delicious. The rooms are clean and the people that work there were so incredibly friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough good about this resort and its people! Thank you so much for a great stay!

  Nice relaxing stay for couples

  We had a great week stay at The Alexandra. We traveled for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our goal was to do a whole lot of nothing relaxing together as a couple and it was a really great stay. We liked the smaller footprint of the resort. We probably had the worst room in the resort (2nd floor at the far end of the furthest building) but it was a quick walk to wherever we wanted to go, so I would not worry about room location. We had a 1 bedroom with a kitchen and it was beautifully renovated and spacious. Lovely large patio with chairs and a table. I'm not sure why anyone would want a kitchen in an AI, it was very nice, but not stocked with much of anything, but of course we didn't need anything! We were greeted with rose petals and a bottle of wine for our anniversary. The beach was very nice on this whole stretch. Beach chairs seemed to go early but we managed to get some in the back row whenever we tried. The pool usually had space as well. The resort had a few kids and teens, some spring breakers with their parents, but was quiet and not much going on except in the evening. The entertainment staff did a nice job in the evenings with games and a DJ. We really liked the pool/bar at Blue Haven better so we went over there most of the days. The young staff entertaining at the pool did a nice job each day with something going on several times in the afternoons. Zumba, trivia, etc. For some reason the drinks were better here and they had service at the pool for lunch which was good. The shuttle was about 10-15 min and left The Alexandra on 20 and left BH at 40, starting at 10:20 and ending around that time in the evening. Having both options--one for a nice beach and the other for the nice pool was a real bonus. Dining was good everywhere, but we didn't really like the Taco truck area. We both literally got 1 shrimp in our tacos and a whole bunch of cabbage. So I guess get the skewers if you go there? Fire and Ice was good, Black Rock had a good fillet, and the Fish/sushi was also good. I would say it's a step up from what we've experienced anywhere we have stayed in Mexico. Others have said the staff was great everywhere, but we had really hit and miss service. Some were just not happy to be there. But Judyann was an exception! We would see her morning til evening at the breakfast and Black Rock. She was friendly and fun to chat with. We also had good service from Romario at F/I and Derricka at the excursion desk. We know there a lot of great restaurants in T&C but we had already been all over the island on a previous trip so I would say if you don't really want to roam and just want a relaxing time, this is a great option. We did forget to exchange cash for smaller bills and had a hard time doing that at the resort so make sure you bring your tip money from home. We did go out on the jet skis one afternoon. The water was absolutely beautiful aways out from shore. I would do at least one boat excursion while you're there.

  Amazing resort and incredible staff

  Another incredible stay, our second at the Alexandra Resort! In today's day and age customer service for a lot of organizations is a thing of the past but not with the Alexandra Resort. Everyone we came in contact with, treated us with the utmost of respect and provided over the top customer service. They were friendly, willing to engage in conversations and literally hang out and laugh and talk with us. Their smiles were infectious and made us feel at home the entire stay. I liken it to seeing extended relatives that you actually like and want to be around. There were so many people and trust me we tried to keep an on-going list of names because we really want the resort to celebrate your success as a team together. Here are the names that we remember and please say "Thank You" to each and everyone of them on our behalf: LaToya - at the front desk was amazing and so incredibly helpful. Brown - also at the front desk for our check-in. Milan - he was our server last year and again this year at Black Rock. Milan is like family to us and made every visit at Black Rock special. So special we visited it three (3) times. He is just amazing and his service is superb. Taliya - we just love this young woman. She is so helpful, thoughtful and is another reason we will be back next year. JudyAnn - Ms. Judy took such amazing care of us ASU every morning. She knew exactly what each of us was drinking to start our morning off and always had it ready. Yet another reason we will return. Keisha - she is a true talent at her job and always has our bar drinks ready and knows and remembers exactly what beverage we are enjoying at the bar. A wonderful smile, friendly and just fun to be around. Ace, Adrian, Forty and really the list goes on. Everyone we encountered remembered us from a year ago and they strive to make our visit better each time. With all the thousands of people that they deal with, when you have personalized service and they even remember you year to year, it says something about the philosophy of the resort. The food was incredible, the drinks were superb and plentiful and the accommodations were excellent. The washer/dryer in the room was an added bonus and will save us from packing more clothes than we need when we return next fall. If you are looking for the perfect vacation, do yourself a favor and book the Alexandra Resort.

  Great Time at the Alexandra

  We just returned from our 6 night stay at the Alexandra and it was great. A few tips for anyone going… When you check in - they will give you a list of restaurants and when they are open. Use the QR codes and get your reservations made for the week. Black Rock was great - your protein is cooked on a black rock to your liking. Take a reusable cup for drinks and water - there are water stations all around. Wash your hands to stay well. There are buffets and you have to wash those hands. There were some folks getting the stomach bug. We were fine, but all used soap and water quite frequently. Take bug spray, lots of sunscreen, rafts for the water, bar soap as they just have bath gel (if that is what you like). Most importantly - take cash. Lots of it and small bills. They do not take Venmo, etc. taxis are all cash! Cash is king on the island and the ATM’s give out 50s. The stores will take credit cards though. Again cash in small bills! Finding an ATM is rather difficult - some banks don’t have them. Taxi ride was $15/person and gratuity as well. So plan your money for both ways / cash is king! We had a great time and never once did we experience an employee who was not friendly or kind. The entertainment staff go out of their way to make it fun for all. The shows are not amazing, but fun and personalized. The food was good - there are lots of selections. My daughter loves fruit and they always had lots of it. If you are watching your calories - they have lots of options for that too. If you are not eating watching your calories - there are lots of desserts and ice cream. The only thing that drove me nuts was the saving of chairs. People would lay their items on the chairs and not come for hours or not even show up. Guess it happens all over :( Room was clean and we had a deluxe garden view suite so it was a remodeled room. We had 1.5 bathrooms so that was really nice as well. They stock the refrigerator with drinks for you too. If you are with someone who does not walk well or is in a wheelchair - there might be some difficulty getting around as there are often 1 or 2 steps all over. Laotnik

  Absolutely amazing. Best resort on the beach. The staff was great. Cheeky is the man. Can’t wait to come back. The room was clean and did not smell of mildew. Tons of options to eat and the food in the evening is 5-star. Daily beach events and the entertainment group really gets the crowd involved. Easy access to transportation and the rum drink upon arrival was perfect.
