Mar 23, 2025First Bahama visit
The public places in the Paradise Island RIU were spotless. There were always employees around wiping down and straightening furniture cushions in the lobby. Floors were constantly being swept and mopped throughout the hotel. We were impressed at the cleanliness of the hotel. The rooms are very dated and in need of an update and new ventilation system. The smell when exiting the elevator seemed to be a very strong deodorizer to mask the old and musty smell. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows had seen better days where what stuffing was left in them was separated and lumpy. Every one of the employee were extremely helpful and friendly, from the bell staff and front desk at check in to the cleaning staff, servers, beach and pool staff and security personnel. The beach area was beautiful and well maintained. It would have been nice to have drink service on the beach, as there is a double stairway that has to be climbed each time a drink is desired. We did not utilize the pools except to test the water with our feet. The larger pool was much too hot to enjoy the water. We didn't try the bar pool. Food was decent and plentiful. There was something for everyone at each meal in the buffet, where if you left hungry it was not the fault of the hotel. We ate in the buffet late 2 nights and there was always plenty of food and a wonderful selection. All around, our visit to the RIU Paradise Island was extremely relaxing and enjoyable!!

Last minute spring break trip. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Ran out of well known drinks ingredients -Mojito, Margaritas- half way through trip. Get your seats early at the pool. People hoard seats and never show up.

Ru Paradise Island, nearly paradise
Great location, fabulous staff, wonderful beach, and great choice of food and drink. Only downside was the hotel is dated and is in need of a refit.

Great experience. Would come again.
Good experience! The Riu wasn't a luxury hotel but it was very nice and delivered a great experience. The staff were super helpful and very pleasant. As a vegetarian, I had no shortage of options and the food was really good, the buffet in particular. It was a lively resort, on a very nice beach, largely consisting of Gen X , elder millennials. It was a short walk to Atlantis. We would go again!

First time, won’t be my last
Staff is super friendly, location is clean. I got a complimentary upgrade with a beach view. When I told the staff there was an issue, they went to check it out immediately.
