Excellent service, room was nice & clean, hotel staff was so friendly and welcoming! Our maid did the most amazing blanket animals, looked forward every night to them! Only problem was the floor was sticky, not sure what they mopped with, but just wore my sandles! Enjoyed the bar and staff there. So friendly, the US should take lessons from your staff!

The hotel had roaches. I found some in my room and my friends had them in their rooms (different floors) as well. The photos I included are stills from videos I took in my room. The workers know because none of them seem surprised when we mentioned it or when one of the other guest killed one on stage DURING her groups karaoke performance. Disappointed in Riu

Pleasantly surprised.
After reading so many reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. Our trip here was amazing. Service great. Food delicious. Atmosphere fun. It’s a small resort just for couples and that’s exactly what we wanted. Thank you RUI and front desk Daphne for making my Birthday stay amazing!!

Great Time! Staff very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was it was near impossible to get a reservation from the restaurants on property. I was only able to get one during the 4 nights stay. I would have liked to have sampled food in the other restaurants. We ate from the buffet everyday.

VERY enjoyable vacation
My wife and I spent 10 days at the Riu Palace Paradise Island Oct 30-Nov 9. We were VERY satisfied. The pool was very warm, the lounge chairs comfortable and the activities staff were very engaging and friendly. They encouraged participation but were not pushy. The drink staff at the pool were very knowledgeable, prompt and friendly. There was never a problem acquiring a towel at the hut at the pool. The beach was good; while some complain about the vendors, a friendly but firm "no thanks" is sufficient for them to leave. The breeze was necessary; otherwise it would have been too hot. The restaurants were very good, our favorites being Krystal and Kulinarium; the staff were very good, as was the food. There were some negative comments regarding acquiring reservations at the restaurants but we did not have any problems. The steak house and Japanese restaurants were also good, though the steaks did have a tendency to arrive warm, not hot. The buffet had an abundance of choices at all meals. There was a large variety of freshly made (without sugar) juices in the mornings. Local laws do not allow monies to be changed to currency other than the local currency so prepare yourself with denominations for tips or change to local currency with that knowledge--the US $ is par with the Bahamian $. There always appeared to be staff cleaning floors and windows in the public areas. For those wanting to tour away from the hotel, there was always an abundance to taxis waiting. In short, an enjoyable vacation and on the "we will return" list.
