    Awesome trip

Explore the grounds immediately to learn your way around the resort, it's huge and u can easily walk around in a circle if u don't get familiar, after that, it's easy! Pack some warmer clothes for room as the ac is freezing but welcome after a day outside.

    Only the Best!

We are repeats and love Iberostar Cozumel! The wildlife and garden are dreamy but the Star Friends steal the show! Yes, that's you Elihut, Hazel, Monsy, Gerry, Umberto, Manelo, the whole singing crew, and Rosa, Sol, and Ismael! Y'all are the best! Thank you for bringing fun, entertainment, laughter, activity challenges, and added enjoyment to our vacation. I just need to beat my husband at cornhole next time! They have all of the activity options you could ask for including beach bowling, darts, archery, rifle, water obstacle, cornhole, music challenges, bingo, Mexican bingo, dance contests, hula hoop contests, karaoke, Spanish lessons, Zumba, water aerobics, yoga, cocktail making, pottery painting, and more! We had down time and plenty of options when we wanted to be active. The kids loved the mini chef, water activities, tie-dying, face painting, games, etc. in kids camp! Rosa, Sol, and Ismael are extremely kind, patient, and interactive with the kids, thank you!! And, Elihut, an all around WELL DONE to you, friend! BRAVO!

Amazing stay, can’t wait to return!

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and stayed at several all inclusive resorts- I can not say enough good things about Iberostar Waves! The hype is true! Whether you’re a retired couple or have young kids, there is something for everyone here. I don’t have a single complaint- everything was fantastic: room, food, staff, beach, resort layout, activities & entertainment team (especially Elhuit, Umberto, Gerry, and Azael!). Our room was basic but quiet and super clean, with good AC and hot water showers. I especially loved the access to a filtered water station right around the corner from our room, and the resort’s initiative to cut out plastic bottles (they give you 2 large refillable glass bottles). In addition to this, they had recycling and organic waste bins scattered throughout. The layout of the resort was great- it felt peaceful and quiet since each cabana building only housed about 4 apartments, and beautiful jungle like landscaping was scattered throughout. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife (coati, peacocks, flamingoes, wild pig, cats, iguanas), and also the snorkeling off the pier (starfish, baby stingrays, barracuda, trumpets, conch, a puffer). There were options to take snorkeling or diving tours or rent a car to explore the island, but we honestly had so much fun relaxing at the swim up bar making friends, playing volleyball, participating in the resort games or sports throughout the day, that we just stayed put the whole week. Lastly one final shoutout to the entertainment and activities crew- they really made our stay so fun and memorable. I especially loved the Mexican culture peppered throughout with a live mariachi band, a Mayan fire show on the beach, traditional Mexican dances with beautiful costumes and songs, Latin music night, and the boogie show. You will not be bored!!

Amazing Vacation - Made Better By Amazing People

We just returned from 4 incredible weeks at Iberostar Waves Cozumel and we can't say enough good things about the resort and the staff who make it so special. The resort itself is very relaxed, exactly what we wanted from our vacation. The way the resort is built is incredible - there is no structure on site that is more than 2 stories tall. What this means is that everything they have built remains below the height of the trees. As a result, Iberostar has been able to leave a lot of the native trees and plants in place creating an incredible environment for the guests. This also allowed for some great wildlife encounters on the property - coati and iguana are everywhere, and we also encountered pygmy raccoons, agouti, peccaries, geckos, frogs, and all kinds of birds, including hummingbirds. This is all as part of the Iberostar Wave of Change commitment to preserving the environment that shows through in so many ways. An exceptional example, on one of our last days we saw notes had been inserted in the restaurant menus indicating that within a range of dates in the spring they would not be serving any dishes with lobster as it was mating season for lobster and they did not want to support fishing for lobster during mating season - we were both surprised and impressed. To be clear how pleased we were with the resort, we only left the property 3 times in 28 days. Twice to go into town and explore a bit more of what Cozumel had to offer and once for an excursion. Other than those 3 days we spent our entire stay on the Iberostar property relaxing, reading, swimming and diving. One main reason for this is that the staff on site took such good care of us. Everyone was great, but we want to call out some by name who helped to make our stay exceptional: In the Food and Beverage team: Maria - Maria is a fixture in this resort - for 4 hours every afternoon she makes fresh tortillas, tacos, and quesadillas as part of the lunch service - everyone who enjoys her cooking can taste the love that goes into it Elisandra & Andrea - of all of the wait staff, these two ladies seemed to always be there for us with smiles on their faces - Eli definitely helped me with my Spanish, I hope I did as much to help with her English Armando, Raymundo, and Francisco - these are three amazing bartenders that we had the chance to interact with throughout our stay - Armando makes the best orange margaritas ever, if you like margaritas, make a point of tracking him down Roberto - this is one of the most engaged managers we have ever run into in a resort like this - Roberto was always rolling up his sleeves and jumping in to help the team anything from clearing tables to jumping behind the bar to to make drinks when things were busy Groundskeeping: Jose - the whole team was incredible as one look around this resort will show you, but we wanted to single out Jose who does such a good job looking after all of the birds that live at Iberostar Front Desk / Lobby: Juan Carlos - again the team is great, but Juan Carlos stood out for us and was always there for anything we needed Entertainment Staff: Elyhut (sorry, I'm sure I butchered the spelling) runs a great entertainment team that is always hopping. Jerry, Muncey, Humberto and the Mexican Freddie Mercury were always running around keeping everyone as active as they wanted to be. Finally, for all you ocean fanatics out there, I can't say enough about the team at the on-site Dressel Divers - in total, 17 dives, 2 new certifications, and a great snorkeling trip. On arrival Eva and Lauren help me get all of that squared away asap and Eva finished my Eniched Air (Nitrox) certification. I got the chance to join dives led by Marwan, Juani (who finished my Drift Diver certification), Kris, Carmina, Valentin, and Tania. Every one of these amazing divers brought something special to our dives and I had unforgettable experiences during my time with them. A special shout out to Carmina who worked with me quite a bit to improve my bouyancy and trim. We also want to thank Allen who led our snorkeling trip and made it an amazing experience for both of us. About the only thing I would suggest is if they could find a way to fit a cozy chair or small couch in the rooms that would make quiet evenings in the room a bit more comfortable. This is a resort that, at least for us, can't be beat. We will definitely be back.
