Awesome resort
We just got back on the 14th of January 2025. We had one of our best vacations at Emotions. Smaller resort made it more personal. The food was great and drinks were good. Rooms were clean and comfortable, added touch with complimentary champagne, rum, scotch in our room. The staff were friendly, with a special shout out to the entertainment crew. Alexander, Chocolate, Awilda, Pablo, Picaso. Also to Manuel the life guard, and Dianna at the spa. Awesome trip, will return.

Shocks by the day.
More to come at the end of our trip but, wanted to advise those thinking of booking this resort. We have experienced multiple shortcomings after only two full days. The one downfall is the cruise ship day passes being sold here. Each day , after the ships arrive, the crowds arrive as well. Crowding the beach at prime locations is our complaint. Also they are pampered by beach staff and waitresses for drinks. We have not yet seen one of either approach us. As I said, more to come later.

Budget Friendly but you get what you pay for
This resort could be so much more but they have let it get really run down. Needs a good paint job and all elevators working. Only thing close to 5 star was the room. We were in adult building 13 and it was very clean. Great housekeeping Great bed and pillows. AC freezing and couldn’t seem to be controlled so either freezing or basically not working and stuffy. That’s the best thing about the resort. Buffet so so. A la cartes better. Italian good. Went there three times. Beach nice but unlike Punta Cana there was garbage being buried around the point and walking the beach lots of litter. They cater to cruise ships coming in and that’s the only time any kind of beach service but only to the people with the Norwegian towels not the guests staying at the resort. Entertainment not much and no where to go if raining. Lobby does not have a bar and is the only real shelter other than beach bar. Was pestered everyday by Hector to buy a tour. Finally bought a catamaran tour. Was supposed to be 6 hours. Was back in 4 hours. Food and booze included Food consisted of salads and ham sandwiches. Not what you’d expect for 80 US per person and did not take us to Sousa beach to enjoy a few hours just anchored off shore. Don’t waste your money going to Puerto Plata. Go to Punta Cana as way nicer resorts with much better entertainment and overall experience. Serenade all suites we were there in February last year and was fantastic!

New Years 2024/2025
This was our 5th time in the DR and I can say it was the best experience we ever had. Resort: Not far from the airport, reasonable size, clean, well maintained. Rooms: are spacious (we were at the adults session, building 13), beach towels were provided by the housekeeper so no worries about going to exchange it every day. Bed was comfortable, bath towels were provided every day, room was always taken care of and I would like to Thank our housekeeper EULALIA what was very kind and always had a smile on her face and gave us a big hug when we left. Food: Excellent, we love local food bc it’s healthier so at the buffet we always found a good variety of food (local and none local), fruits, bread (loved the oat bread), salads and much more. Food at the beach restaurant/bar we never tried since it’s more “fast food” and isn’t our favourite but yes they offer a considerable variety. Drinks: The usual, however they don’t have the “regular” mojito only passion fruit mojito which is not my favourite but was ok. A la carte: we tried the Mexican (Lolita) was great, Dominican (Oregano) also good and we had the Sea Food what end up being upgraded to a Romantic Dinner on the beach due to misunderstanding on the schedule/reservation what the resort staff apologized and I want to thank Mr. Franklin Cruz who went above and beyond to solve the problem and make us happy and we totally understood and wasn’t a problem since “things happen”. Also would like to thank Suamin who took care of us during our romantic dinner. By the way and bc of the misunderstanding on the reservation the resort offered a dinner at the cheese & wine with a choice of a food from a a la carte restaurant at our choice. Caffe boutique: Lovely and cozy. Expresso, Frappuccino, latte….. excellent. Thank you Anabel and Carmen for the great service and the wonderful smile they always had. Beach: very good size, if you like to walk along the beach you’ll find it amazing. Enough beach chairs so no need to go early morning to reserve your chair. Vendors… the “usual” plenty of them however if you say “no thank you/no gracias” they move on… Pools: We aren’t a pool fan we prefer the beach we only tried the pool at the adults area once so the jacuzzi and was ok (jacuzzi isn’t hot), however the other pools seamed fine. Entertainment: Comparing with other resorts we have been in the DR and in other countries I think Emotions should improve we found it very “poor” even on New Years Eve but was ok just when comparing with others I can say it was “poor”. Staff: For the first time and after many times in the DR I can say I was impressed, workers at this resort were the most friendly and nicer I have seen in the DR, always with a smile, always friendly, always attentive, honestly I was impressed bc I never seen that in the DR. Conclusion: We liked, we had a good time, we enjoyed, we have nothing negative to say about it. My THANK YOU goes to: Mr. Franklin Cruz, Eulalia, Anabel and Carmen also and I apologize for not have taken their names to the “santo Domingo worker” who provided the drinks when we arrived and the “skinny viejito” :) you served us at breakfast.
