What an incredible sea!
We had so much fun in Costa Rica. Kids and I were included with my ex husband on his work incentive trip. The beach at the Westin is so walkable both ways. Soft sand and private areas to the left. Food is just ok - eggs Benedict at Mitra breakfast and the made to order pasta for lunch saved the day. The employees are incredible. Found Erik G with Google blur shirt on the beach and he easily organized a private tour to La Leona and zip lining. Would love to be invited back on this trip for next year.

Great location! Fabulous golf course!
Awesome! Beautiful location and challenging golf course. We spent the day golfing and had a late lunch at the poolside restaurant. Would definitely consider staying at this location next time I visit Costa Rica. Well appointed pro shop and updated golf carts. Staff was great.

Repeat Guest, Beautiful Resort, Service Decline
This was our third visit to the Westin Reserva Conchal. We return because the property is gorgeous and well maintained and we love Costa Rica. We enjoy the size of the resort and the ability to walk to a variety of locations on the property. We have always stayed in Club level amenities. The rooms were clean. Bergen (sp) at the adult pool was exceptional. We did notice a decline in service from prior visits, primarily at the restaurants. For example, coffee was rarely refreshed at breakfast, beverages at other meals were never replenished and spills were not adequately cleaned up. We also required WiFi access to complete some work while abroad and WiFi in the rooms was not reliable. We did attempt to address some of these issues and the response we received was “thank you for your comments.”

Fantastic week of relaxation!
Our family (myself, wife and two adult children ages 21 and 23) stayed at the resort from February 14th to the 22nd. It was great. We stayed in the Adults only section and if you're able to, this was worth the extra. The Adults only pool area and buildings were quieter and there wasn't any issue finding chairs by the pool. We did go by the other pool area almost every day and it was like most typical all-inclusives with music playing and was busier, but never looked over-crowded. The resort was beautiful and kept very clean. Our rooms were cool and the cleaning staff did an excellent job during our stay. The food in the restaurants was quite good for an all-inclusive. We researched quite a bit before picking this resort and did see a few reviews which complained about the food, but those people must have been very picky or looking for gourmet dinners. The resort is fairly big, but the walk from the rooms to the restuarants was not too far, and if you ever didn't feel like it there were carts driving around at all times that you could flag down and ask for a ride. Seeing the many Howler monkees was quite something...and a bonus that they weren't throwing anything at people! The beach is quite nice, but it is a public beach, so there are people plying their trade asking you if you'd like a horse ride or a massage, but none were overbearing or in our face. We used Erik G on the beach for a couple of excursions and he was fantastic. He followed up with us to make sure our driver was there to get us and asked how we enjoyed the adventure. Be sure to look for him, he will be wearing a blue google shirt. We did a snorkeling afternoon trip on a large catamaran and also a full day trip to Rincon de la vieja which is an amazing spot! Overall, I would highly recommend this Westin Resort!!

Too large and corporate vibes
I sort of felt pushed into this place by my travel agent. I was really hoping to love it, but I did not. I didn’t hate it, but I’ve been to other all inclusive and this one just felt too massive for me and there were also corporate events going on all the time with a bunch of loud douchey Salesman, corporate kinda dudes, yipping, and hollering by the pool bar. Also attracts a lot of golfers and I don’t play golf. Food was mediocre at best. The only good restaurants were bamboo, which was the Asian restaurant and the Spanish restaurant at the top of the hill at the main lobby bar. All the steak and hamburgers were terrible even at the steak place, which was OK. The meat in Costa Rica is just not the same as in the US so avoid it. I stayed at the Westin club adults only section, which was nice with its private pool and private restaurant where we had breakfast every day, but it was far from the beach and the other restaurants. The place was so huge. You really did need to hail a golf cart to get around. As for the beach, it was nice, but don’t expect it to look like the Caribbean. The sand was small tiny shells, and you would sink in when you try to walk the shoreline also the sunset is obscured by the mountains in the area. It’s more like a cove. It is beautiful and relaxing, but keep in mind, It is not private so there are vendors trying to sell you stuff while you’re there. However, you can get a really good massage for $40. I went with Sophia from the orange tent her people were great. I went with all inclusive because after being in law, Fortuna and hiking like crazy I just wanted to relax and not worry about having to have money on me all the time, but in the future, I would not return to this place if I did go to an all-inclusive, I would try to find a smaller more personable type of place.
