Amazing Resort, Loud Guests!
The resort and staff were amazing. However, certain guests were extremely loud and were allowed to break rules. Music speakers, smoking and whooping in areas that should have been relaxing. This made it difficult to relax. The food was amazing, however again the restaurants were loud and guests whooping and cheering at every opportunity.

Another great trip to the Valentin.
Third visit to the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya was everything we expected it to be. The resort is gorgeous and spread out so there's rarely a feeling it's crowded. Always crowded and filled with high energy, the main pool is an exception but a more relaxed environment can be found at the Silver and Golden pools if you're looking to chill. Huge beach and although the swimming area is small it's perfectly adequate. If you're willing to swim without a lifeguard, a wonderful and completely sandy swimming spot is about a three minute walk further down the beach. We also really enjoy the numerous food options available and always try to be seated outdoors at the restaurants that offer it, because it's so relaxing. And with 11 bars, a beverage is always easy to find. The service is excellent and every encounter for us or any other guests we observe with a Valentin team member make you feel like at that moment you are the most important guest at the Valentin. We also really enjoy the positive vibes you get from the other guests because we're all there to relax and enjoy, everyone seems get along with each other. We're already planning visit number four to this fabulous resort.

Found a new home!!
This was our first visit to this beautiful resort, recommended by our friends the hiltner's it was their 3rd visit. Where to begin, the smooth check in,the room, the service, the food, the cleanliness, just the all around attention they give you to make sure you're happy. We never wanted for anything, and loved the anniversary surprises, dessert at dinner and a beautiful towel display of 2 swans with rose petals in our room! We're already trying to figure out when we can get back, hopefully dec.2025 🤞

Trip #6 and it will be our last. So disappointed.
November 2024 We have returned from our 6th visit to the Valentin. The food was great! The weather was fabulous! We love Lucy (you will find her at the beach bar or the coffee shop), Isabella, Lorenzo, Daniel, Enrique(front lobby) and a few that I didn't memorize their names. We were visiting to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. I emailed customer services and received a wonderful email promising something special to celebrate. Our travel agent also emailed them. The resort did not acknowledge our anniversary at all. On day 2 I booked a beach massage. One of my favorite things to do. The fellow who booked it for me said I would get 10% off. When I went to the massage the paperwork didn't show the discount. But I didn't ask the massage therapist. I didn't think she would know. Unfortunately I left it until check out and they would not honor the promise. We were very disappointed in the amount of smoking in the resort. We understood that smoking was only permitted in designated areas. But there were a couple of women smoking in the main Plaza, someone in our building was constantly smoking cigars on their balcony and it wafted into our building, everyday and one night there was a guy smoking at the beach bar. We tried to talk to staff about our building but they didn't do anything about it. On our third day, we were headed to the beach for the day. At the beach bar I took off my flip flops. Took a step. And stepped onto a rusty nail. The staff at the bar were quick to help me, including Lucy, Abner, Antonio. They cleaned my foot. From there I visited the resort doctor who was fabulous. But he could only clean it a bit more. So he sent me to a hospital in Cancun. He escorted us to the front lobby where we hoped into a cab. Long story short. 2 hospitals, 4 stitches, tetanus shot, antibiotics, pain killers, pretty much 2 days our trip was lost. After this I could not weight bare, go in the pool, ocean, beach, walks or the 5km run. Alot of the reasons we were back at the Valentin for the 6th time. The most disappointing thing, the resort never once checked on me. I was at our concierge desk, to get a golf cart (which in the past I would never have used), when another visitor asked what happened. When the concierge overheard the story he was surprised. He didn't know. He asked if there was anything he could do. And when we returned later from our second visit to a Cancun hospital, I had a CSR approach me and ask if I needed anything. I don't know if it was coincidence or not. In hind sight I should have requested many things. I left it in their hands, thinking they would offer something? Anything? They did not. At checkout we asked to speak to a manager. After about 10 mins a supervisor came out to speak with us. He listened to all of our thoughts and concerns. He promised someone from management would contact us in 24 hrs. Needless to say we have never heard from anyone. We are a lot of emotions over the whole trip. But we are adamant we will now start looking at other resorts.

Excellent Resort
We stayed for 11 nights in late October into November 2024. Our room at the Golden Pool was excellent and was serviced to a great standard every day. We had requested a king sized bed in advance however this was not possible but on checking we were informed we could move rooms after 3 nights, this we did and it was an easy stress free process. In general all the meals were good, some excellent with only one or two poor which over 11 nights is almost to be expected. We mostly had breakfast at the newly renovated Le March buffet restaurant which was excellent both in terms of choice, quality and service. we also had two lunches at Le March which are also buffet and of similar quality to the breakfasts. We visited all the restaurants for evening meals our personal favourites being Ginger (Japanese ) and L'Alsace (French) but we suspect this is down to personal taste and meal choice rather than a great difference in quality between all the restaurants. We had to wait 15-30 minutes for a table on a few occasions but this was no inconvenience given the proximity of the bars and their buzzer system to alert you that your table is ready. We spent most of our pool time around the Golden Pool where we found ample seating and shade and the service from the very hard working servers is excellent. Although we walked along the beach we do not tend to spend time sitting on the beach. The only negative for us was the quality of the drinks, we found the house wine satisfactory, but the made up drinks and beer choice were below our expectations. However overall we would highly recommend this resort , the ambiance both around the impressive public buildings and the well maintained grounds is great and for us the size of the resort was a plus rather than a negative, we did not feel the need to call for a lift at any time , other than to deliver our cases. Our holiday was enhanced throughout by the friendly personable interactions with all the staff they are incredibly hard working and deserve to be tipped well. Our holiday was mainly to meet up with great friends from Florida who we met at a neighboring resort several years ago and with whom we always have a great time. Mark & Rhonda
