    Simply amazing.

We are here now. Half way through our stay. This place is amazing. The hotel staff has all been accommodating, friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and well maintained. This is an adults only resort. American beers and awesome beverage choices. Food has not disappointed. Contesting needed for dinner. My only suggestion is a little more lighting at night. If we get the chance to come back we would stay here again. Oh and the planes flying over is pretty cool. Loud but cool.

    Great Vacation at Ocean Point.

Relaxing vacation. Stay at the Ocean Point Sonesta. The other Sonesta connected to the resort was for families and much busier. Ocean Point was relaxing, less people, and excellent service. We ate at Azul for lunch and dinner almost every day and night. The food and service were excellent. Jennifer at Azul was warm and bubbly. Kim at Azul was amazing, funny, and never let our drink glasses become empty. Carlos at the Sunset bar was hilarious and provided awesome service. The iguanas are friendly and like to eat cherries, grapes, and pineapples from the bar.

Great 1st Experience in St Martin!

We stayed here over New Year’s Eve on the adults-only side, and it was a fantastic choice—especially since the connecting property seemed overrun with kids. Overall, I have very few complaints about the hotel. The grounds were immaculate, and most of the staff were friendly, although a couple seemed a bit annoyed when asked questions. One highlight of our stay was the exceptional service at Azul, thanks to our waitress, Matt. Her dedication to going above and beyond really stood out, and whoever she reports to should be confident in her excellent customer service. Another standout was the bartender at our hotel (unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name). One day, she was also bartending outside at the large shared pool and was consistently kind and engaging, making our visits to the bar a pleasure. We only tried the breakfast buffet once, so I can’t comment on the dinner options there. We did, however, visit the outdoor grill several times, and the hamburgers and hotdogs were absolutely amazing. We also dined at the Asian restaurant one evening, which was just okay—not great. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, and we noticed several other guests commenting on how chilly it was. The adults-only bar was well-stocked with great options, and our room came with three large bottles of liquor and a bottle of champagne, which was a thoughtful touch. My only two complaints are minor but worth noting. First, the beach chair process was unclear—we weren’t sure if they needed to be rented or how to secure one. Second, the adult pools lacked energy and were pretty boring. It would have been great to have at least one pool on the adults-only side with lively music, rather than having to go to the shared pool for a more vibrant atmosphere. Despite those small issues, this was an amazing vacation overall, and I’d highly recommend the resort!

A Piece of Paradise - with planes to enjoy watching!

We absolutely LOVED Ocean Point! I am going to go on a bit, so strap in. Greeted by friendly staff with cool scented wet towels and a drink called an Electric Lemonade - YUM! Check-in was super quick. Nothing but friendliness and smiles. Really cool - your wristband is your electronic door key! So nice not to have to keep track of a key card out at the pool, bar, restaurant etc. The wristband looks a bit clunky but is actually much more comfortable than the usual plastic-y ones we've had at other resorts. First, we had a Junior King. All of the rooms at Ocean Point face out toward the ocean. I believe that the rooms all have a balcony. What a view!! We were in room 414, directly overlooking the pool and just down the hall from the Sunset Rooftop Bar (which is a wonderful place to watch the sunset) The bed was firm, as some others have said, but my husband and I (both seniors) found it very comfortable - a true king size - and low-motion transfer. Our room had a nice sitting area with a comfortable couch. The minibar include 5 one-litre bottles of local alcohol - whisky, rum, gin, vodka and a bubbly wine. (We didn't partake, did our drinking out at the bars) All included, by the way. In the fridge were 4 bottles of water, 2 cokes and 2 Sprites. These were replaced each day (only missed once) Our room was beautifully looked after and VERY clean. If you are a fanatic, yes there were some dark spots on some of the mirrors (you know, like old spots in the silvering) We don't care about minor things like that. The bathroom was a lovely tiled shower stall with option of an overhead rainshower. We requested the shower stall due to my husbands mobility issues, and it was perfect. Maids were in each day, (unless requested not to be), it was so nice and clean, and towels were plentiful. AC was quiet and efficient and doesn't blow on you when in bed (I really hate that, so was glad!) There were housecoats and slippers in the spacious closet and a safe which was easily programmed. Pool towels were in the room and there were towel huts near the pools where you could put in your wet towel and get a fresh one any time. These were not monitored. So nice not to be treated like a towel thief as at some other places we've been to! We absolutely LOVED sitting out on the balcony watching the planes come in over the ocean and beach. So many different kinds of jets and planes! We didn't find the noise a problem at all. The sliding doors are very thick and keep out almost all the noise and the planes stop coming in after about 7pm and don't start up until about 8am. If you're into planes, like we are, download the free app "Flight Radar 24" and you can know all about the planes coming in - times, routes, type, etc. The Ocean Point side is adult only and was quiet and peaceful. Even when music was played poolside, it was relaxing and only 3pm til 5pm or so. We had a really fantastic guitarist one day, and a very skilled steel drum player another day. Enjoyed both very much. No-one yelling at you to do anything, no thumping music, LOVED it. Food - We found Azul and didn't go anywhere else. Oh my goodness!!! The food and service was amazing! The menu changed each night and you order a la carte. My husband wanted to try a bit of everything a few nights so he asked for a half or small portion of one of each of an appetizer, soup, salad and main and they gave him exactly what he asked for, he was so happy! Just as an example, one night's entree was a perfectly cooked filet mignon. Another night, lovely short ribs, lovely salmon etc. Pastas available each night. The service, too, was amazing!!! Drinks arrive minutes after order. Food very quick to arrive and very nicely presented. We went there for breakfast each day too. Buffet or menu, your choice. Great food. And what a view! Azul is up on a cliff and is surrounded by that gorgeous blue ocean. Perfect breezes too. Nice snack bar and bar in the lobby. They have fresh sandwiches and desserts that we brought back and ate on our balcony a few times. BTW room service is included and a good menu!! I went to the family side of the Sonesta Maho a few times to walk through, and my goodness it was busy! Good pizza at the pizza place, though. I brought some up to the room a few times. There is no beach on the Ocean Point side. The whole adults only part is up on a low cliff. The great part about that is that you can sit quite literally RIGHT next to the ocean and the screaming kids are far away! Well, not that far. Close enough to easily walk to the beach, far enough to not hear the kids! lol Yes you can easily walk to where the planes come in right over your head! I wrote down a whole bunch of names of really great staff, but can't find the paper I wrote it on. (So sorry, you guys!!) Here are a few of the greats! Ahleyna (so helpful and lovely), Jenneal (who called us by name and remembered what we liked to drink after the very first day!), Kemiara (again, so lovely), Jeremy, and so many others. Really every one of the Azul staff made our time there special. Just SMILE at people and treat them like human beings. I don't understand ANY of the negative comments about staff. We were greeted warmly literally everywhere with smiles and hellos. In short, not sure why we would go anywhere else. We had such a great time!!

Relaxing holiday ... just what we needed! Thank you to all the staff at Sonesta Ocean Point!!!

This was our second time at this resort and will be back again. We used (and would recommend) the butler service both Dane & V made sure we were well taken care of. Azul restaurant has a rotating menu, 5 star dining and spectacular views - we did not eat anywhere else! Our servers Janneal, Kimi and Jennifer were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. OneZero pool bar has top shelf liquor and Cheryl the bartender is a legend. Cloud9 is also worth trying for pre-dinner cocktails with a beautiful view of the sunset. Our first visit we did a tour of the island and other activities, this time we went to relax and never felt rushed or crowded. There are different pool options and you can be as busy as you like. If you like walks on the beach suggest you try Mullet beach a short 5 min walk from the hotel - go early before the cruise ship tours arrive and take water with you. At times during the day the planes can be loud (so this might not be for you) but we enjoyed watching them and they did not bother us. Overall I rate this 5 out of 5!
