Family Vacation
This was our 3rd vacation to Grand Palladium in Punta Cana. We came with family this time. It was absolutely wonderful. We first me Robinson (Bell boy) who helped us to our rooms. He was very informative and very friendly and courteous. Throughout the week we could always count on him for help. We had breakfasts at the buffet and due to some mobility issues we required a table in a certain area and also there were dietary issues as well. Kariena always made sure that we had the table to fit our needs and was very helpful and friendly. Mariedahlia was great at remembering the dietary requirements and was quick to help as well. Carman took over for Kariena when she was off. We never had to worry about accessible tables. We were staying in 8303 and never had a problem with the care our items received. The rooms are clean. We were 2 minutes from the beach and maybe 3 minutes to the closest pool. We were able to try 4 of the A la carte restaurants and they were all very good. Our son found the basket ball court and spent a great deal of time there. We are definitely going to be returning. Thank you for the wonderful week

Honeymoon
We had so much fun this week at the Grand Palladium! There were many activities to take part in and the beach is beautiful.

Spring Break
I waited in the reception the first day for 5 hours and did not have a room and therefore could not eat at any place in the resort because they needed a room number to eat. The walking is too much around the resort, they need golf karts. Everything closes so early and there is no itinerary for activities and fun things or any sense of structure. The beach was also very crowded and so were the pools.

I really wanted to like this Resort…
Let me start by saying I really wanted to love this resort. This was my husband and I’s 3rd time in Punta Cana, but first time at the Grand Palladium. We arrived and had a great checkin experience, no wait time, and we were quickly taken to our clean room. We didn’t have any issues with the room, and everything worked as expected. We were worried we would be approached about the timeshare presentation, but that didn’t happen at all. The pros: The beach! Bavaro Beach is beautiful, there were tons of waves which were quite strong, but we loved the beach and spend a ton of time there. I would caution people to check the flags, and stay out of the water if you are not a strong swimmer when the waves are high, as the current was very strong. (Obviously nothing the hotel can do about this) The employees; everyone we had the pleasure of interacting with was friendly and accommodating. We booked an extra beachfront meal at La UVA one night ($60 per person), and the dinner was incredible. It was a lovely meal during sunset on the beachfront. This was a highlight of our trip. The grounds: the resort is beautiful. Big kudos to the team responsible for keeping the lawns and gardens so lovely. I can’t imagine doing physical work in the heat, so we made sure to stop and thank the groundskeeping staff for their hard work. Now onto the negatives: I got food poisoning on day 3. I know people read the comments thinking it was drinking in the sun, but rest assured that was not the case. I ate a different meal than my husband one day, and was sick for a full 24 hours. It was a full day wasted and spent in the room. Room - we were there for a 7 day vacation. Our room was cleaned once. We did have housekeeping come a 2nd time, but it was at 7 pm at night so I already had cleaned everything and we were getting ready for the night activities. One day the water wasn’t restocked, so we called the lobby and it was quickly rectified. Our fridge was stocked every day. Sales - the sales people were extremely pushy and aggressive . Even while in the pool, I was approached multiple times by photographers trying to take my picture. When we politely said no, the photographers said even if we don’t want to buy, they have to take a certain number of pictures per day and it would really help. I didn’t appreciate the pushy-ness, or guilt tactics. We spend a lot of money on this trip to relax, and were approached every single time we were in the pool. This also happened while lounging around the pool: I was asked multiple times to purchase spa packages, I politely declined and was asked “why not”. I already said no, and don’t appreciate being pushed into something. The sales people were the most aggressive I’ve seen in our 3 trips to Punta Cana, and I’ve never been approached while swimming in a pool. I don’t like to be rude, but it was the only way to get any time to relax. The vendors on the beach were much more pleasant to deal with, they accepted if we said no politely and went on. This was a big deal breaker for me, and made me not want to relax by the pools. Overall, we this was not a cheap trip, and I did have higher expectations based on other resorts we’ve stayed at in Punta Cana with comparable price points. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone based on my experience, spend your well earned money somewhere else. I know the resort has some upgrades happening in a couple months time, so I’m hopeful they take some of this feedback into consideration and make a few improvements to allow for a more positive experience.
